I know, it's harder then it sounds. If it helps start with a square and cut off edges to make it spherical without being a dimond. xD <3

Hey do you think it would work well if I hand drew something first and then scanned it and attempted to color it and pixel it on the comp?

cause I think the creation parts my biggest issue right now.

Lots of pixel artists sketch out their stuff first and pixel over it. If it winds up working for you, great! :D

I suggest just taking the base, putting it in your Corel, and putting it at a low transparency. Then just print it out.

That way you won't have to deal with annoying resizes and the base won't get in the way when you scan it in. :3

@ Hiro ~ Go for it. I do it for some of my larger things. Just so i have some basic lines and ideas to work from. The final art never looks all that much like the sketch but it gives me a starting point. :3
