The View Review!
Hello and welcome to the July 2010 edition of the Midorea View! I'm sure alot of you have been wondering why I haven't done a review on the last 2 months and the answer is...I was lazy.. sorry. I had no motivation to write a review and post it and make it look all fancy, even though I did love the relics in the past two months.
So to make everyone happy I'll add a small review covering my thoughts on May and Junes monthly relics.
So we have the Girasonne Weaponry Set and Vaspafoich Panoplia, both very lovely and detailed items. I actually really liked the Weapons, the detail on the blades on each of these weapons are beautiful. Everyone knows I'm a sucker for weapons, especially swords and axes and these are no exception...well...except for one.. The sunflower. Its a lovely lil addition to the item but I just think they look silly. I don't hate them, I just think these weapons could have been slightly less florescent and more badass and epic, thats just my opinion. I prefer my weapons to have skulls and blood, not sun flowers. But still a lovely set of items, I use them alot in my battle outfits.
The Vaspafoich Panoplia is also a very nice item, we've had ALOT of armor and clothes themed items lately and I'm not complaining. The armor has a bug theme and it shows, with the wasp like wings and the clinging exoskeleton like body gear. I actually love this armor, but I prefer the Earth Dragon armor from the 2010 Lotus festival, so I don't wear it much. My only gripe with the armor is that it doesn't have any shoes. It seems to be a theme on alot of avatar sites to only have leg wraps that go over shoes and boots. That usually works IF YOU HAVE BOOTS TO WEAR! Midorea lacks shoes, we know this and this would have been a great opportunity to give us a nice pair of armor black/tan boots, but no, that wasn't a pursued idea I guess. I suppose they prefer us to go barefooted?

Moving on...before I start ranting..
Here's June 2010's Relics, the Faunus Satyris and The Cursed Ones! This is a set of relics I really fell in love with, utterly and completely. Anyone lurking around the site or maybe someone who's chatted with me has seen my lil Faun chibi art my lovely artists did for me knows I love the Faunus Satyris.
Normally I don't like animal skins, even when its just maybe ears and a tail and some skin patterns, I don't like it. But the Faunus really has captured my love for mythical lore as well as my take that they are Druid like beings, living off the land and being one with nature with the power to shape shift and what not, I love it. As soon as I saw the adorable hair the set gave us I knew I would be wearing it like ALWAYS and I have since I got my greedy lil hands on it. My only complaint about the set is the mouth pose, it makes the cute lil guys look really pissed off. Also I wished the skin markings worked on either skin tone, they stand out too clearly when mixed and its disappointing. Over all a wonder new skin and hair!
The Cursed ones is awesome incredibly epic looking, the burning flesh, binding chains and the blazing wings are truly amazing! Surprisingly though, I haven't really used these items outside of my Fallen Deity armor outfit, I just think the set looks too simple alone and I feel I have to clutter it with other fallen items. I only have one complaint though with this set. The lack of hair, just about every skin themed item has provided us with hair to match the skin but this doesn't. I'm sure it would have taken some time but some kind of blazing hair would have been neat as a bonus item, but maybe its a minor complaint. I can understand how the them of being a blazing cursed one would cause you to have no hair. Another minor complaint might involve the chains, I find the ball attached to the leg seems kinda cheesy. Had it been a big rock with fire and demonic like symbols on it would have been alot cooler, but thats just my opinion. I think chains coming down the arms and dangling off would have been pretty cool or maybe around the wings, though they seem more like fire and smoke.

(OKAY, I'll post it already, I've kept most of you waiting for too long)
Let's start with my favorite in this months sets, The Lower Deity Weapon set. First off, let me say, its about time these have been released. We haven't had a lower deity item released in a long time and it was way over due, what with all the other deity sets having their own full weaponry sets. But finally, we have them and they don't disappoint. Playing along with the lore that the Lower Deities are actually paladin like figures during times of war, these weapons just scream holy knights of righteousness and light. What with a shield decorated with wing like designs, a mighty hammer, a sword and a spear also decorated with wings. As I'm writing this I'm glancing over to my second window which is displaying the weaponry set and I'm looking at the mace/hammer items just so happy to see the amount of detail put into this item. My opinion though would be that the mace should have been made larger, the same goes for the sword, which sadly disappoints me. Its far too small and dinky looking, but its still very lovely! The detail in the blade is wonder, though I don't like the handle wings, they look really odd, same going for the small wings at the end of the spear and maces handles. It just stands out too much too me and could have been down better, possibly with a more rounder curvature, but its not horrible. Just small bickering on my part, because I just want these weapons to be perfect. I truly love paladins and everything they stand for and I want these weapons to work.
Now if only the Lower Deity Armor can be created, we'll be set!
