The Attire of Laiga
Laigans are ancient snake-like beasts that once roamed the Earth long before the Fall of Man. Some say they were wiped out, others say they now live deep in the Dead Zone where no man can enter

Guise of the Saidon
The Saidon people are a mysterious race of creatures that are said to be ancestors of the Naquirfans. They reside deep in the many underwater caves of Midorea, only to venture out when the nights are at their darkest.

(Is this mic on..yes? okay!) Hello everyone, Branny here! Its April 24, 2010 and this is the first ever Mido View, very exciting indeed! Now I'm all very new to this and all so please be kind! *shifts uncomfortably and laughs* Anyways, April 2010 relics have been out now for almost a month now, many users such as you readers may already own a set or might be lusting over them and questing like mad to find a seller. It's very understandable because this months set is incredibly beautiful. The Saidon Guise has given us a whole new set of skin that come in three different colors to play with and includes detachable arm, legs and ear fins that come in the same three colors as well! That's not even including the lovely Hairpin and belt to add to our passion for fashion! *Laughs nervously and shifts through his notes* As well as the colorful Saidon Trident! This set is gorgeous to say the very least with perhaps only a few minor complaints but over all a wonderful set. *Stares into the camera before looking down at his notes*

Moving on, we turn to the other relic of this month; The Laiga Attaire! This breath taking set of highly detailed clothing and accessories is wonderful addition to anyones closet! I had some time to sit down with this set and experiment with the different poses and items it offers and let me say, its by far one of my favorite relics this year so far. The extraordinary detail that has gone into every piece is exquisite and gives a feeling of Royalty that I haven't felt since my old Gaia days! The first thing that catches your eye has to be the very Regal Laiga Headdress, although not my favorite pose in this set it is still lovely. My only complaint with the headdress is the that my head barely fit in it and my hair was ruined for the rest of the day. *Chuckles and smiles* Though the set gives you another option for the less gaudy users out there with the Laiga Tikka, a sort of tiara like chain of gold and rubies I believe! Its simple design and slender shape make it a great piece for many other items out there! Another accessory in the set is the nose piercing which caught me by surprise actually! I don't think any other site I've been to has something like this! The whole piece is a dangling earring with rubies and a gold chain that wraps across the face and attaches to the nose. Luckly it comes with a clip feature because they don't pay me enough to pierce my nose folks! Another piece was the bracelet by the way, I had almost forgotten about it while I was trying everything on and how could I!? Its just a lovely piece, a bangle of golden rings. I found myself using this piece alot actually while trying on a few other of my more regal outfits and it works great with them, like many other items in this set this also goes the same for the LOVELY necklace that came with the set. It highly detailed and elegant with any regal garment. I find myself using it very often now.

Now we move to the clothes of this set and let me tell you, my face couldn't be any redder when I tried them on! The Laiga shirt is a tight fitting wrap around that covers only the top half of your chest and leaves the rest reveled for all to see, which actually plays into another item in the set, the belly piercing! My word folks, this caught me by complete surprise again when I found this little stud. I had to actually ask one of my assistants where this piece went! I had it in my ear when she was telling me! But it works well with the clothes, but don't count on seeing me with it anytime soon! *Laughs and brushes his hand down his shirt lightly* The second half of the clothes is the...uh..well Legg wrapping. I have to say...this is by far the most different item I've seen in awhile, by far. I actually needed help putting it on and afterwards all I could do was stand there! It's impossible to move around in, I thought I might need someone to wheel me around with a cart like Hannibal Lecter "Mpph mpph Mpph!" Hahaha! But it is a lovely color and the cloth is soft and comfortable, after getting used to the bidding its actually enjoyable...if you don't mind pretty much being completely naked! Though the set also provides a waist wrap to conceal an naught bits that might get shown..

The last items in the set are actually my favorite, Weapons! *Smiles deviantly* They give us two different blades this time, a Sword and a Pudao spear. Its been awhile since we've gotten a new spear here in Midorea and I was very excited to see how detailed it was! Both blades are incredible, the Laiga people clearly knew how to smith wonderful weapons that are both elegant and deadly! The blade on the sword isn't all that long but the material they used in the crafting is beautiful and the design in the metal is just wonderful. The Handle is too actually, its hard to make it out but the detail put into it is crazy. I've found myself wanting to add these two into alot of my common outfits and they usually go rather well. The Pudao is alittle bulky on the back and more then likely to throw off a outfit but its still great.


Now, I did have some time to sit down with Cat and ask a few questions regarding the set. I was rather nervous coming up with the questions on such a short amount of time but I think you'll enjoy the outcome.



1.The Siadon Guise is a interesting Relic indeed, what inspired you to come up with the skin, weapon and Hairpin/belt?
Cat: Allot of different things actually. ^^ You see originally it was going to be mermaid attire, but instead we decided on a sea nymph set. I think the one thing that influenced me the most would be the old paintings of sea nymphs and mermaids.


2.The colors are rather nice, purple, green and blue. Did you have any other colors in mind when you were pixeling them?
Cat: Those three colors where the ones I had chosen before work even started on them. We were also considering orange as well but in the end it was never used.

3.What's your favorite pose for the Guise?
Cat: The leg fins. They are my favorite. I love how the texture looks.

4.How long did it take you to design and draw the item?
Cat: Hm, well usually the design process takes about 3-5 days of just sketching out ideas and refining them until a unified theme starts to form. For the Guise I already had a clear picture of what I wanted, so it took me roughly 3 days to get the design for the set done.

5.The Attire of the Laiga has a very indian appearance, was that your intesion?
Cat: Yes, it was. The Laiga are based on paintings/statues of the Naga, most of which originated from India.

6.What exactly were you going for with the Attire? Is it supposed to be
battle garments or perhapes Regal?
Cat: Whenever I saw a picture of a Naga, they always had such elegant clothing and jewelry and always looked "Regal" I suppose. But in the same sense, they also looked very deadly. Kind of like how snakes are beautiful but fearsome all at the same time? That's essentially what I was going for with the set. :3

7.The Sword and Pudao are actually very amazing, were there any other weapons you had in mind for the set?
Cat: From the start I wanted to limit the weapons, so the pudao and sword were the only ones we had planned for.

8.How long did it to you to pixel/draw the set, more so the necklace,
headdresses, earring/nosechain and bracelet?
Cat: It actually took me a while because I was trying to figure out how to color the metal correctly. Once I got that down, the metal accessories didn't take me very long. I think the headdress was what took so long. Probably 2 days of sketching and pixeling until I was happy with the design, and another 2 days to pixel it.

9.The color tone you went with was earth, any reason why?
Cat: You know those old paintings of the west? How rugged and earthy the colors are? That's what I was going for. :3

10.Why leg wrappings rather then maybe a long skirt or maybe pants(gasp)?
Cat: Lol, well it's easy to understand why when you know that the set was based off of Nagas. (the wrap was intended to look like a naga tail)
But it was also because we use shendyts(skirts I guess) in almost every relic set that involves clothing so we wanted to try something different this time around.
There was actually a shendyt planned, but was scrapped because the design didn't fit with the rest of the set.

11.If you could add another item/item pose to the sets, what would they be?
Cat: Hmm, now that I look back a pair of shoes for the Laiga would have been a good addition.

12.How did you come up with the names Saidon and Laiga?
Cat: I always check the etymology of words relating to the set. Like saiwaz is an old word for sea(which is where Sai in Saidon comes from)
And don from Poseidon. (Sai-don )
I can't remember where I got Laiga from, sorry. But it is a mix of old words like Saidon.

13.Will the races that owned these relics ever play a part in the story or maybe another item?
Cat: You will definitely be hearing about the saidon again, but I can't say exactly. ;3
And the Laiga most likely will be getting another item. Can't say for sure though!

14.Finally, is there anything you would like to comment on the items and how they came out?
Cat: I am very pleased with how they came out, and are probably my favorite next to the Jan. set. ^^ Huzba did a great job on the weapons as well. I think out of all of them the trident is my favorite.
