[anxiety]

i figured i'd make a chat where you can talk about anything you feel like. to start the conversation i will tell you guys about these last to days getting my home computer back up and running

ok fist of all, my computer died from a virus [we think it was the conflicker virus] so my mom is really lazy and she doesnt get the computer to the guy for about a week. then when we do get it to the computer guy we need to buy the vista disk for him [4 days later] it takes my mom 3 days to get the disk to the computer repair people....about 3 days later our computer is ready to be picked up....5 days later my mom picks up the computer. but i still wont be able to use it because my internet stops working as soon as i get on it @_@...so by the next day i finally get this thing working and here i am today .

i had to call my internet provider like 6 times to get some one who knew what they were talking about. some lady told me that there was something wrong with my IP adress...some guy hung up on me @_@ but when my boyfriend called he talked to a guy who knew what to do

any one else have problems with there computers lately

My computer's just the usual problems. It's about six years old or so, so it's on its last legs pretty much.

My main problem is when my IE decides it just won't work.

I have that 'IE no add-ons' thing that I keep clicking on by accident because for some odd ass reason it keeps popping up in my start up menu. I need to figure out some hot keys on my keyboard so it just automatically pulls up the RIGHT IE.

I mainly stick to firefox, though. But lately it's been acting like a freaking retard and wanting to go OM NOM NOM on my download limit for no freaking reason.

I'm not even downloading anything but my computer's like, 'SLOW. AS. ELMER'S. GLUE. IN. ARTERIES. F.T.W.'

Ugh, drives me nuts. But I can't afford a new one, not yet anyway.

If I get a job, however, I'm going to figure out how to get Adobe on my new pc without forking over an arm and a leg for the program so I can use it there.

I doubt it'll work though. My life sucks that way. D:

My lappy's screen died T_T I got a new one but I still miss my old one (had photobucket). I'm still getting used to vista, the IE browser on the new computer has this crap HP bar that takes up a butt load of space for the window, So I got chrome instead.

Which is much nice then fox, and needs less updates as well, but a lot of the site I visit aren't made for chrome <.< such as M.A.D. on midorea. so I have to occasionally get on IE try to muddle through all the annoying prompts (this is how you use the internet) and check on grades and accounts and such.

Yeah...I think that I need to have my dads computer serviced. The only thing is, that he is so cheap and he doesn't want to fix it. He also doesn't want to buy a new one. He should though because his computer is like 7 years old now. Its kinda like crap and stupid.

It has so many viruses and stuff and when ever I put a virus program on there he complains that it slows it down when he tries to use the computer because I set it on run automatically because he doesn't work it himself. So right now he goes on whatever site he pleases and get viruses. Cant win I guess. Its stupid. He and my step mom complain ever two seconds about how long it takes to do anything on there and how annoying it is. I am like its not my fault you wont let me fix it. So...that's my story on that. Computers are so annoying at times.

I love my computer though. It is a laptop. I would be so upset if the screen died. I would just freak out. I did just buy it last summer so i should be OK, but i didn't buy insurance for it or anything because honestly that shit is almost as expensive as I paid for this thing.

I have a dell computer and I like it a lot. I wouldn't trade it for anything. It works well enough for what I use it for. Which is mostly to do homework and to come on avatar sites like midordea. So what do you guys do with your computer and do you take good care of it?

I did have some tablet troubles earlier but that's just because the instructions didn't say anything about setting it up with Linux so I had to figure it out myself Dx

Ren - You have a Linux? I've never played on one before. Most I've dealt with was Dell, Gateway, Emachines, Mac, and that's about it. Oh, Toshiba, too.

... Transcendence I'm gonna call you Den, is that okay? Your name's too freaking long, and as desperate as I am for silver, my fingers will thank me for it later. xD

Anyway, that sucks about your dad and step-mom. I've had that same problem for a while about my own old pc. But I'm chosing not to replace it due to the fact I have so many programs on here that I can't get on a new pc without getting serial codes or really pushing my download limit.

Ubroros - How old was your laptop? I have a Mac lappie so it hardly gets viruses. I use it for whenever I feel like arting and stuff, but not a lot of programs I use are available for mac properly. Like all my messengers. I don't like Safari either. I still need to buy that damn new OS X.5 I think for the Mac to fix my bootcamp so I can get SP3 on my Windows OS. =A=;

I have some computer problems but it's mosley cause of the program I have in it. All I have to say is Windows Vista sucks. I don't like it.

My granddad has Vista, it's not so bad.

Not something I ENJOY, but it's not so bad. Just gotta update a ton of sht like your programs and stuff so it'll work with it.

Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with it when I use his computer.

Wowie o.o so many computer problems. I haven't had any on my laptop yet (sure it's slowed down in the past year and a half since it's no longer new) but I have gotten really bad worms and viruses on my old computers. So bad to the point of even reformatting it didn't work.

But, that's also because the old computer was.. well... Old, and I had it when I was young and didn't know about clicking stuff being bad. >> And we didn't have good virus detecting/removal programs on it.

Also, Vista's all right, it used to give me problems but now it's doing fine. After a while it feels like any other Windows.

Do you guys have laptops or desktops? I'm assuming laptops. I have a laptop, personally and I love it. Even if I have to hold it in my lap because my desk is covered in papers.

I've heard that the April Fools (Conflicker) virus was actually real, supposedly the guy thought it'd be funny if people got it, not if they panicked over it. It was supposed to be the... third generation of a horrible virus.

Apparently, though, you have to unwittingly download it on your computer, but most sites rarely download automatically. As well, you know you have it if you try to start your computer in safe mode and it doesn't work. But no one I know has gotten it yet, so it's probably not real, or just a very lame virus.

WEll, I'm not listening too much to folks that claim to have gotten the virus. IT was probably just a virus from lookin' at all that PORN I KNOW THEY DOWNLOAD.

I keep getting IM'S from this horney hook up site actually, and i t's really annoying. I don't do that kind of thing, so I finally went to the main website and sent a really long complaint that if they didn't remove me I was going to report the site to MSN to have all IP addresses connected to it blocked from using it.

Course I dunno if that can actually happen, but fuck if it's annoying as hell. =A=;
