Ya know what REALLY just grinds my gears?

When I'm texting someone and they say "I'm fine." and nothing else to my "How're you? "
And they keep resending the message to me until i reply to them, I mean honestly, what the hell am I supposed to say to that?!
Seriously.
That's just extremely annoying.
What are they wanting me to say in reply to that? That's not a very efficient way of holding a conversation if you don't ask a question back to get onto a topic to discuss, you can't just answer with nothing to say other than "I'm fine." and then expect someone to keep talking if there isn't anything to reply to.
Ugh.
It happened to me just now, hence my ranting.

Haha, I don't text much but a friend of mine annoys me when she continously replies with stuff like "lol" "lol yeah" "i dunno" and such. D: Then I don't respond because I think she doesn't want to talk anymore and she asks why I was ignoring her.

Usually if people respond with that I just say that it's nice and try to start a conversation myself.

I HATE that , I get it all the time on MSN. It makes you feel like you have to do all the conversing and come up with all the things to talk about. Then it makes you feel like they really don't wanna talk to you in the first place because if they did you would be having an actual conversation ;/ <-- sorry I'm sour XD

But yes, I tend to notice this with males I do not know very well. Or males who have a GF and lots of other friends. Not to sound judgemental, its just what I've experienced. You can kinda tell when people get alot of texts and are just too lazy to give yours any amount of proper attention. It just makes people sound so detached .. I hate it D: I Don't wanna waste my energy on one sided convos.

rofl I do that But I do it because I don't want to encourage my friends to text me.... I hate text messaging I could see where that would be insanely annoying if your friend actually intends to hold a conversation with you though

There's not a whole lot that bugs me enough to complain about, but I'd say the thing that grinds my gears the most are people without a sense of humor I'm not a very serious person in casual conversation, so it REALLY kills the conversation when I say something funny or goofy and get a serious, boring response

OH! Anddd, a recent thing that bugs me about text messaging! A friend of mine and her mom (creepily enough) text message me ALL the time *dies*. Some days, I'll go *gasp* and entire day without responding to their texts. Then, the next day, I'll get all sorts of emo emails and text messaging asking why I hate them rofl. It's so ridiculous. Can't a brotha breathe? rofl

I really don't understand texting beyond "Be home soon fix supper" or "Gonna be late don't wait up" useful kinda texting. If I'm gonna talk to someone I'll call them, IM them, or visit them and talk to them. -_-

But on the topic, that happens a lot in normal conversation too. It's kinda awkward when trying to strike up a chat with someone you haven't seen in a while.

I hate it even worse when you're texting someone and they give you a one word response to like a paragraph. Like, the other day, I was texting my friend, cause I was really cheesed off, and she's my only friend that lets me rant to her, and usually gives me some good advice; So I sent this long message and she wrote back, "Oh."

What the hell do you say to that? So, I never texted back and she's like.
"Did you get my text?"

LOL that sounds so funny! I have a guy who does the exact same thing to me, only he will message me 'whats up' an if i dont reply he will send the same message again so that i reply its really annoying its not like I havent heard the first message before.. people can be annoying.

lmao, texting in general annoys me. I only reserve it for sending quick stuff I wouldn't feel like calling for... not conversations.

I have this one friend who will text me with very important or time-sensitive questions and then just wait until I text back instead of calling my house. In fact she did it this morning, and I didn't get the message until like 7 pm, almost 12 hours later. XD Even though I've told her like a thousand times I'm not going to answer because I don't carry my phone around in my house.
I also have a limited number of text messages so it annoys me beyond reason when people text me with things like "I'm bored," "ok," or "oh." I hate to do the same, so if I get a message telling me something I often don't reply, so I get the inevitable "did you get my text?" later, which is also highly annoying.

And wtf to that phone bill. That girl should work in servitude to her parents for the rest of her life. o_o


Unrelated to texting but very related to the topic of this thread, I am a very irritated driver. I don't have road rage, but I pretty much hate everyone else on the road. It just annoys the crap out of me when other people risk my life because they are too retarded and/or impatient to drive properly. And even when they are only inconveniencing me, like staying in the merge lane until the end and not even bothering to look 'cause they figure people will just let them over.... yeah. >:|
I also really hate watching the news, lol, but I do it anyway. I can't stand listening to the news peoples' banter, but I need to know what's going on so I stay. It's like some kind of torture almost. XD;

I dunno, a lot of stuff is irritating, but this is getting long~

What really grinds my gears is, when I'm in art class and this girl sits next to me and just sings REALLY BADLY and repeats the same lyrics over and over and over. Then when we get into a conversation about the artwork, she'll switch topics randomly and if I don't respond to her she'll tap me and go "Hey Dani" like a million times.
