| Madly in love with that series (harry potter) and I can't believe how many people died in the end. . . it was too cheesy. They should have spaced the deaths out a bit.
But oh well, war is war with magic.
the actress that played Tonks is a misfit for the role.

| LoL, old thread revive!
I absolutely love Harry Potter. Have been reading it since I was 11 (I am 22 XD). I am an all-out nerd... I own a Ravenclaw uniform and a wand and, when the books were still being released, worked a lot of events. XD;; LoL, but.. I will admit JK's writing is not the best. Still, getting past that, the series is rather good. The end was a complete fail, and it read like a terrible fanfiction. XD; It was sad. Ah well... what can you do. Somehow all but like 2 of my books and the Japanese version of Azkaban have gone missing o_O; I miss them.
Book 3 is the best though <33>:D For a long time I was a big part of this Marauder-era RP and it rocked hardcore. I miss those days ;3;

| I have seen them. And I must say that I didnt care for any of the movies compared to the books until the third book. Only then did they start improving. In all honesty.

| I love Harry Potter; I have read all seven books and have seen every movie and intend to continue seeing them despite that like anyone I have my issues with the movies. I dislike certain things being left out as much as the next person but unlike some I don't allow that get in the way of my enjoyment of it because I know that it can not be perfect.
I never showed an interest in the series when it first came into my life. I won the first book in seventh grade in this little contest thing for this after school program I was in...ack I don't remember the details but the book sat in my backpack until the next year. One day in Science class in eighth grade I had forgotten to bring a book for SSR(silent sustained reading), and Harry Potter was still sitting in my backpack from the previous year so I started reading it since it was all I had.
I had to regain my interest a few times along the way but I really did enjoy the series. It's really quite an amazing world.

| I love the harry potter series!
I've read all the books, I think it's great
The movies are pretty good, I REALLY like the first 3 movies the best.
The 5th and 6th movies I didn't like as much[mostly because I've read the books, so... XD ], but they were still fine.
What does everyone think about the actors?
I absolutely love Alan Rickman, and I think he does a great job as Severus.
The three main characters are great too, and I think all the people that did the Weasleys match the descriptions in the book.
I think really the only thing that really stinks is that the original actor for Albus died, and I don't like the current actor as much.

I agree with you about the replacement actor for Dumbledore. I think he is far too harsh and stern at some points, such as Harry's Interrogation after his name came out of the Goblet Of Fire. Dumbledore is known for being a calm, rational man. I seem to remember in one of the books it even states at a certain point how it could not be told if he was angry or not.
Also in the third book a point they forgot to stress in the movie was that I believe Hermione references a shock over how furious Dumbledore had been at the Dementors for attacking Harry during the Quidditch match against Hufflepuff. A point that proves how calm he usually is even when maddened.
I also agree with you about Alan Rickman he has a perfect darkness and mystery to him for the part of Snape.

| Did you guys see the new movie? >_< I loved it up until the ending, where they didn't have the big battle. I was kind of disappointed. I was all charged up for it and then extremely let down. xD And Draco was super evil D: He's a great actor! (Atleast I think the battle was supposed to be in this movie.. I haven't read the books in awhile. xD;; )
And I agree about the pairings in the last book. And the names of the kids. I LOL'd so hard at the names, it was incredulous.
