I Told You So

"I love you so much", "But i love you more,"
Those would be the last words said
Before I went for the door..

A million things can run through my mind
As those words resonate, resonate..

How can I believe you, though you tell me all the time?
After I'm gone for a week, and it's you're chance to shine?
I missed your voice, I missed you laugh, a call is all I needed,
Though you get home early, text your friend till one A.M.,
And you forget me?

You talk all day, you talk all night,
have everything in common and you never fight?
It's evident that she brightens your world,
More than I do for you, no need to lie, I see it,

She never disappoints you like I do and did,
even though you say I'm a saint, I see through it,
You talk about her every second that we talk,
My conscience is telling me to leave and walk away,

But four words keep me from running away,
like the rest of my problems, I should just run away,
But those five words tear me in two ways,

"But i love you more,"
Even though it makes me run for the door,
because I know it's a lie- It's always a lie,
But my words catch me, because it's true,
"I love you so much,"

But I'm pretty sure I've seen this before,
Should I just press fast forward and live with it now?
Should I dress in black and linger in corners?
Should I give up on happiness yet again?

Of course you say no, be you love me or not,
But no matter what I do, it will happen,
You'll come to your senses and leave me,
or I'll drive you away with my passive jealousy

But what else can I really think of?
We are all thousands of miles away from each other,
Nothing really matters when you lay it on the table,
You can easily remove me from your life on a whim

So why don't you realize that your friend,
the girl you speak with every waking second of the day,
is far better suited for you than myself?
If you'd only open your eyes.. Take a second to look..

Just a second, and I'll promise to not say "I told you so,"
Because even when you leave me, and note I don't say "If,"
Though your heart will not be with me, I wont refrain from thinking,

And pretend to hear, as you press block, delete old messages,
throw out gifts, delete memorized numbers, and reach for her hand,
"But I love you more,"
