| I post my items there, but I don't think I've gotten a lot of feed back at all. I see other artists, though, that have tons. I don't know if my art just doesn't appeal, but I don't tend to draw comments at all.
I still post there, though, because I have some friends there and I would like them to see my art. It's the only way a lot of them would be able to.
Here is my DA account though, for anyone interested.
Edit:

Mods. To be honest with you I don't really know whether they exist. They must, I guess, but I have never run across one. Or even seen that they have taken anything inappropriate down. They aren't even really talked about much, directly or indirectly. So actually it's not all that surprising that some people use dA as facebook, that others use it as porn and that others use it to troll/bully. |
I actually have had mods take down inappropriate content previously. It was something that I directly complained about and selected that I wanted to know what the result was. There was a person posting a lot of inappropriate imagines that were both disgusting, and offensive. So, there are mods. I'm sure they just have ALOT going on though. Some of this requires that you report what you think is offensive though.

| yeah you are right. They probably are very busy. I'm merely saying that I have never come across them. Which actually is probably a good thing Means I haven't managed to get myself in trouble
Any who, I shouldn't panic about not getting much feedback. I don't either. Some people fave every now and again but I barely ever get any comments. If you want crit though I can watch you if you like :3

| Critiquing on dA is hit or miss. >__<Either>8C Thats not correct, just because I'm not a master chef doesn't mean I can't say, "Perhaps you should use more salt or sugar."
You can post ANYTHING at Furaffinity.

| ah O.k. I did have a look around and it seemed like there weren't any restrictions in what can be uploaded but, naturally, most of the things I saw were anthro.

| Randomly jumping in. I find dA a friend of sorts.
I mean I only read the first page, and realize a lot of things about perceptions of dA.
1) Professionals do use it. I've watched many people who sell successful books, and people get can use dA as a place to promote their art. It's not perfect, but at the same time saying that professional artists avoid it is a bith much.
2) They royalties, you are making it once, they print and ship it and do all the nitty gritty. You draw once, they sell potentially a lot. They are using more money to produce it than you are drawing it and submitting it.
Now, I can agree on some things, the community isn't always that fun. Dear god have I had to argue plenty a time, or read through utter nonsense.
Also I can agree that fanart is huge. But I think fanart is still art, I mean it is in the name. And man, I've seen fanart that is drawn amazingly. It's concept is not theirs, but that doesn't detract from it's quality and the effort they put in. (not that this may have been an issue, but it was brought up)
Oh, and last thing. Their policy on sexuality is nonsense, and I too am really sick of the greyscale nudes everywhere. "Artistic nudity" my arse.
Summary: Deviantart? Friend! Perfect? rubbish! XD
-end of hijack-

| DA is well-known and popular, and so there's that. But then there's the fact that a lot of people on there are rather snobby about their work. It's not a great starting point for people who haven't shown much of their art before, and anyone who can't take criticism. There are other ways to be seen.

| As already mentioned, DA has its pros and cons. My personal experience is that it is certainly a good and well-known way to get your work seen. Some people are quite courteous, while others aren't...It's sort of a mix in terms of the community. It's also nice to see the art of others both to help you improve and to help you see what you personally like and dislike to help you understand yourself.
However, as said, sometimes the community can be a bit trifling. On top of that, there's been a recent (well, fairly recent) issue regarding people stealing other's art off of DA both on site and for other sites. Thus, it may not be the safest place. But still, it does have its perks I suppose. So...It's sort of a "catch 22", I think.
