Ahh, I see. I've never been on the site, myself. Well, not as a member.

And wow, that's really good! I'll bet people spend a lot on your art.

If you'll like to join any day, just let me know
and i'll make sure to show you around Happy
i like to join avatar sites with caring admins and moderators
that why i am here and in KofK
and not sites such as gaia Jab

Oh thank you!! Embarrassed
but not really ^^;
i haven't had the guts to open an art shop there
so i only do commissions for friends and people i know

this is a knuffel done to sell in that site (they have 5 individual stages)
This is Hanna's first and last stage
it's a sort of adoptable that other people buy
and the artist gets online currency

it seems to be a trend that people who like animals are often into the arts, too XD or perhaps its a coincidence of just the people i've been speaking to!

your art is cute Happy im sure people here would buy some if you do decide to open a shop here.

i would certainly not want to be a vet, or even a vet nurse. just... eek! Far too much ickyness for my liking! I have a pretty strong constitution in general, nasty things dont tend to bother me much.... but aural haematomas? ANYTHING with pus in it? YIKES. im so not up for dealing with those kind of things on a daily basis! XD

I'm more looking at the exotic side of things. zoo keeping or working in conservation (although i suppose the two often go hand in hand! working in zoos ON conservation projects would be pretty cool) - as i was intending to get into the film industry before, i'm also considering getting into animal training (i.e. for film and tv), although i dont like my chances :P

how do GPAs work in the US? (i assume that's where you are?) i've never really understood it. we don't use them much here (it does stand for grade point average, right? :S)

this course i'm doing now is the first one where a GPA is something i've had to pay attention to, and the highest we can get is 3.0 XD i'm on like ... 2.9 at the moment i think. just waiting for last assignments of the year to be graded to know what it'll be overall.

yeah, i'm from the red, white and blue place
but that's not really where i was born in. i was actually born
in a small central american country called El Salvador
( i speak spanish x'D as my original language)

hahaha maybe it's a coincidence but who knows? x'D

Oh thanksz Sweat
i might think about it, but the art museum looks pretty dead right now
*pokes it with a stick*

OMG hahaahah when you put it that way, it supports the decision of not being a vet even more!!
that sounds pretty cool, but if your working in a zoo those that mean
that you also have to have some sort of veterinarian base? at least to take as good care as you can for the exotic animals C:
i was never good at training my pets
they only know the basic x'D

Ah...GPA is really important here for college
The highest here is a 4.0
but with AP (advance placement, there basically college classes in high school where you can get college credit)so AP classes, they have this sorta...ummmm boost to them
that if you get an "A" you can get your GPA Boosted because the class is weighted
i took 3 AP classes....so that's why my GPA will be very high because they will boost it
yes that's what it stands for C:

not really for zoo keeping, since very little of the work is hands on, as most places are trying to keep the animals a bit more "wild" rather than tame towards keepers. Since a lot of places are working on conservation projects with end goals of reintroducing animals to the wild, it's important to not get them TOO comfortable with humans or end up accidentally domesticating them, you know? :P

for zoo keeping, most places want a diploma (of a certain level) in animal management (what i'm studying) or animal care, and many places want a degree in the same subjects or something like zoology, conservation, marine biology, things like that Smile im still debating wether or not to go to the university level. i probably will since jobs are so hard to come by these days >.>;

ahh, i see ^_^ I had a feeling 4.0 was the highest you could get over there, so i wondered how yours was higher! but that's pretty nice that you can do that, it puts you ahead by showing dedication and drive, i think Smile

Yeah i understand C:
that's true, i hate when zoo animals would only ever get to stay
in their enclosures instead of living in the wild.
Though i've also come to understand that it's a bit hard to get them prepared for the wild if they were born in an enclosure. I'm sure they would not survive if you just threw them in the wild right? x'D
You need to warm up some rusty instincts (to say)

Jobs seem really hard to get these days, and school is so expensive.
I've been looking into where i am going to colledge as a bachelors degree in Graphic design or animation
but some of these places run from 60,000-80,000!! Shocked
it's crazy
i've also looked into this other university
in Hawaii
that looks like a dream....only 25,000 and there's lots of scholarships to help you. It's in one of the small islands next to honolulu

Yeah, i need to get in front of my classmates Cx
sort to say
and i'm trying to impress the colleges by challenging myself to the most that i can
I really want scholarships so i can go to college Weeeee

Yup, 18 too here in Canada. I'm graduating on the 20th!

Congrats AnDe! I bet it feels incredible to be done with that part of your life!

I have two days left of school, then exams on the 12th and the 15th and I'm done with high school!

I've already started picking out courses for uni this fall. Trying to fit all my classes in a timetable is harder than I thought it would be. :U

My are actually fitting together perfectly, I may not have any classes on Fridays either! xD

Sorry I've been distracted guys, I've had so many graduation parties to go to, and now I"m preparing for orientation xD

Thanks. :3 Honestly this site really intrigues me, I'm glad I came back too! xD

I don't think I have any questions at this point, I'm still figuring everything out. Oh! I will ask though; I was perusing the rules, and I didn't see anything about posting in threads after they were soo old... I frequent Ernya and have had to make a habit of checking the date of the last post to make sure it's been withing the past month... is that not a thing here?

As for me, I'm an aspiring writer, currently working full-time in a card store and pursuing the possibility of minoring in Japanese when I have time for university. xD

We don't have a rule about necroing threads. Our forums are pretty slow, so we try not to put unnecessary rules out there that limit posters.

Oh, have you studied Japanese before? I took Japanese classes all throughout high school.

Man, I'm jealous, Japanese wasn't an option in high school or my tiny college so I've just been trying to pick it up where I can. Such a shame too, I think I know about equal parts German (the language I ended up taking) and Japanese. It's always fun when they get swapped in my head, my brother likes to do it to me on purpose.

Oh, good! I'm actually kind of glad you don't have necroing rules... makes it easier. xD
I actually have never studied Japanese - the only languages they offered in my high school were french and Spanish. I ended up in Spanish, and actually got to go to Europe for ten days because of it. Smile
But I have a lot of friends who speak Japanese and am an avid anime fan... so I've caught most of it from there. xD

Sharm; I'm kind of jealous of you! I love German, I wish there were opportunities for that language here... all I know is what my grandmother remembers, which isn't much.

Japanese is the only language that I know, but I at least plan on taking Spanish in the next few years. I'd also like to learn Swedish.

Swedish would be cool. Spanish I find is pretty easy, and I love the sound of it. You should definitely take some classes. <3
