Hm... I think I found a nice way to take over the world. Hai

Sculpture class went well. It was the first class, so we basically checked what we're gonna do during the semester, and since there wasn't much to do after that, it ended 2 hours early. Weeeee
Now I just need to find some inspiration for the first project... ugh recycling... Neutral

There should be a whole channel dedicated to Doctor Who lol

OMG yes! I still need to catch up on the last few seasons. I only managed to grab an episode here and there because the only channel that plays Dr Who has that stupid idea of showing it in the middle of the night or while I'm at school. *kicks TV*

My high school had this recycling event every year where the visual art majors used recyclables or trash to make clothes [aka. Trashion C:]
We were also allowed to make sculptures out of trash as well. I teamed up with a friend and we made a city of trash inside one of those old computer monitors. We also made tiny robot people >w< I don't have any pics though sorry :P

I wish schools or anything had such programs. If you think American school are part-time prison, try a school where nothing fun ever happens, devoid of creativity and fun activities.

oh sheeet.
Everyone needs to have been in my high school class [even though i get depressed thinking about how much more i should've done there].
It's still a high school, so normal teenage drama ensues. But it's really creative. Compared to the school I went to before, it's like... and AT LAST I SEE THE LIIIIGHT.
AND IT'S LIKE
THE FOG HAS LIFTED [yus ! Tangled/Rapunzel <33]
Singing and dancing in the hallways at lunch <333 acting in little corners. Reading poems aloud. Students visiting the art room and gallery. I miss it ;A;

It's not just an option that schools can decide on, I think it's a necessity that more emphasis should be placed on creativity. Even the best CEO's need to have an imagination or understanding of the bigger picture :C
And I'm sure I know students would be happier.

Most people in my college used the music/art classes as an excuse to slack off..
I think most people just don't really take creativity seriously, so it'd probably be lost on a lot of people. :/

And I agree with both of you.
I think creativity is a great way to add interest to... well, pretty much anything. And school needs to be interesting for children to learn properly.

@ Kupsy: That reminds me so much of my classmates last year. Bunch of people freshly out of high school that chose art because everything else required too much studying for them. So they were just like "We're gonna create whatever stuff we want and get a diploma". Strangely, most of them had disappeared before the end of the semester...

I think people would take it more seriously if it was actually treated like an actual quality that can help you get a good job, and not just some pastime thingy only good for kids.

Reika- If you have space channel or something...if not then you should probably just go online to watch. 8UU
Still, there's nothing better than watching it as it airs on the TV. xD

Lavendar- Yer, thanks! Usually I don't like to use wings on my avatars but I like these ones.

Maeve- Recycling....that's interesting?

I especially love the ? at the end of your sentence Xd
Yes, recycling is interesting, because, like our teacher explained yesterday, artists don't always have lots of money to buy real quality materials for their works. Although, as far as aesthetic values are concerned, I'm still not too sure about it. Neutral

I like the idea... Though I don't like a lot of "modern art"... ie: lol I threw a pillow on the floor, it's totally art.
I'm planning on making a canvas art using all the Pepsi can tabs I've saved over the years xD

I'm really not sure yet. I was thinking maybe some old newspapers or books or something like that. Preferably something I can shape, and not just something I can only throw into a pile.
I think I'll go poke google and see what good comes out of it. Maybe it will give me some more inspiration...

Edit: Just keeping some notes for myself, feel free to check them.

Google is good. lol. I saw my brother use old magazines and folded them length-wise into strips, and then roll them into these giant circles. I dunno I thought those were cool. xD

Google is nice. Helped me found a lot of stuff (see previous above). Most of them will either take too much time or skill to use them, but they're pretty anyway. Happy

My favorite:

Did some research on that picture. It was done by the Kaspen group in Czechoslovakia, however I'm not entirely sure if the picture is entirely real as they do a lot of tech and promotional stuff. They have worked for some really big names, including Budweiser and Hyundai. Their(Czech's) Budweiser must be a bit stronger than ours. XD

Thanks for the info Neom ^^

Laugh
Oh well, it's still nice. I was a bit puzzled by it at first, since most of the other book art I've seen really look like they've been taken from the book itself (like, cut from a page, folded, etc.), and this one looks too massive for that.
But yeah, anyway, I'll try to find more inspiration this weekend. Now I need to concentrate on... *looks at schedule* ugh, abstract painting... Duh
