| Have you ever had that feeling where something of yours was stolen and you feel a sense of loss and remorse? It pretty much sucks. My bike was just stolen today, no less than a few hours ago because the last I checked, it was still there. :/
The real point here is, how do you feel about people who steal? Whether it be personal or emotional property.
The first thing that comes to mind is, "Stealing is bad and you'll pay for it dearly." But people steal because of many reasons, for example, to feed their families, for the fun of it, to make peoples lives horrible, to sell, and etc. As a child I have stolen things before so does that make me a bad person and will I pay dearly for it? Am I being hypocritical about the person who stole my bike then? I feel bad for people who have to steal and cannot find any other legitimate ways in getting their needs/wants.

| I just plain think stealing is wrong. I feel that if you work hard enough, you can get what you need, but the cost may be something you don't want to give up. Like people can move, or sell some of their personal items.

| I understand that for some people, life just doesn't go right.
But I will never approve of stealing. My mobile phone got stolen a while ago, and while something like that can be replaced, it was a birthday present, and presents mean a lot to me, so the fact that someone could just steal something like that still pisses me off to think about it.
Someone also stole £250 off my mum, she left the card the machine by mistake (it didn't return it for some reason) and she forgot it. The person behind her saw that it was still in there, and rather than turn around and give the money to my mum, who was still there getting onto her pushbike (I mean come on, she only has a crappy bike, if they'd looked at her surely they'd see she's hardly rich as it is), they took money away from her.
Mum doesn't deserve that kind of crap from anybody, her dad's died recently, she's been through cancer, her mum's had several strokes and diabetes, and someone has the nerve to steal from her, when they could've given the card back. I know I would've.
Some people feel they need to do it to survive, and it does make me sad that the world has gone that bad...
But some people just do it for the hell of it, some do it for fun, some just do it for drug money.
And if I ever met the person who stole off me or mum, and I found out they were one of them, they'd be meeting my fist via the face.
Rant over for now... People just make me so mad sometimes -_-

| Someone decided to take my mp3 player, which is utterly use less unless you have the cord to upload songs on it. the thing that upset me the most is I found out who has/had it. I know him, and when I asked him about it he goes "Oh, it's at my dad's house and I haven't been there in a long time. Next time I'm there I'll bring it back to you." It was so easy to tell he was lying and that pissed me off. Is it really worth stealing an MP# player they wont be able to use and try to sell it off (which i know he would do, stealing Ipods to sell to people happens a lot at my school)

| Well, I value my items that I get through gifts more, but what really makes me angry to think about was when a friend lent me her yu-gi-oh cards and another friend stole them. Needless to say, he's lucky I didn't find out he was the one who took it until he left town.

| Obviously stealing is bad, but the reasons for doing so aren't always? If a person is doing because they can't feed their family by any other means, it's different than the sort of people who do it because they're too lazy to support themselves in another manner.
Pretty much everyone steals something, sometime, too. I'd be very surprised to find out that there was anyone here who had never in their life downloaded a song or movie without paying for it...yes, Youtube counts.
Most children shoplift at least once, too, or take something from another kid. My mother loves to tell the (embarrassing!) story of how I stole a kiddie sewing kit from the drugstore when I was four, and she marched me back in and made me give it back and appologize to the owner.
Even if it's wrong, some of my favorite stories are about thieves, though! XD I even once told a career counselor that I wanted to be an Art Thief when I grew up, after reading From Eroica with Love, and the Nightrunner novels. I wasn't exactly being serious, but it would certainly be an interesting career.

Then be shocked? Because I've never downloaded anything illegally. I dont trust those sketch sites for movies, and downloading songs for my mp3 wouldn't work unless I tinkered around with it and I never felt like trying to see if it'd work xD

XD Just kidding, but I am surprised. You don't even trust Youtube? Seems unusual to me, but to each her own, I guess; some people are still pretty cautious when it comes to the internets...I know someone who is convinced that if you even think about buying something from an online store, the Internet Ninja will come and steal everything you own or something.
Good for you to be able to say you never have. But what about in real life? Ever steal anything when you were a little kid?
I'm tempted to say 'cookies before dinner when mommy told you no' count, but that'd be a little too much XD.

| I hate those who steal..
The yuhioh cards Neo mentioned reminded me of this time back when I was in 8th grade. I was a real big Digimon fan and I had a full collection of the original and second season of digimon cards. They were already rare at the time and I had managed to collect the full sets. I had them all placed in a card carrying case, one of those nice plastic ones..lol
Anyways, I had brought it to school with me because I was going over to my friends house afterwards and we liked to trade and battle, fun stuff. So I kept them in my bag, didn't pull them out because I didn't wanna lose them. But during Band Class (twas my 4th period and thus my longest period) I had brought them out for a moment to show my friend that I had brought my full collection and he was totally excited and yeah. What i didn't know that another one of my.."friends" had seen them and decided he wanted them. So band class ends and its lunch time and I put my clarinet in its locker and come back and shift in my bag and notice that the case is missing and I start freaking out..
I ask my friend if he had taken them out (we often messed with each others stuff, close friends) and he was like nah I hadn't...and then one of my other friends was like "yeah I saw steven near your bag when you got up" and I look over and see him coming from the lockers and stare at him and he looks right into my eyes and I see him starting to freak and tell him to give em back and he screams he didn't take em and they aren't in his bag and I demand he open his locker and he refuses and I freak out some more...yeah
I never got my cards back, he managed to steal them and hide and eventually get away...I was so pissed I actually cried a bit. I had secretly collected those cards after my crazy christian parents banned me from having pokemon stuff...so I was heartbroken..
I wish I could have beat him to death with the carrying case..

| I hate when that happens, but there always people who think nothing of stealing, but it probably is like me, where I have learned that I can go against what people want to get what I want, even if it hurts them, and I've just gotten used to the reactions and don't feel guilty about it anymore(usually).

| I remember before, a few years ago when I was going through a bit of a rough patch, I was a thief then. Yeah, I was a rookie at it, but I only got caught once and I'm starting to pay for it now. Personally, stealing, in certain situations, is an extremely stubborn thing to do. But, if it's the only way you can get anything to keep your self alive, then ya gotta do what ya gotta do, ya'know?

| A couple of times when I was a kid our car was robbed, the first time we lost the stereo and the second time my mom's purse was stolen. She was devastated.
When I was 16, a Goofy hat got swiped from right under my nose at Disneyland while I had found an item I wanted to examine in a shop. Luckily I didn't care much for that hat, it was too big for me anyway.
The only time I have actually stolen was a pair of scissors from my sixth grade science class over ten years ago. I was annoyed at having to borrow scissors all the time because there were only so many pairs so it could be hard to claim one.
They should still be around here somewhere to this day.

| I have stolen books from teachers by accident quite a bit, but other than that, never really stolen. But I felt really bad that I had stolen like 20 books from one teacher because I would borrow 5 books at a time.

| In my opinion, stealing is not something you should do because you are hurting some one else.
But in cases where people are stealing food because they are starving, I can understand that. I just wish it wouldn't come to that.
My friend would steal in stores and stuff and it would always make me feel bad... The worst part was, she had money for it, "it was just too expensive".
I stole a piece of gum once when I was like... 7 years old. x:
My mom wouldn't buy it for me...

| I don't think stealing is right, and I never have. When it comes to nessecity, I can understand why people would do it, however, just stealing something because you want it, isn't right at all.
Just three months ago my DSi was stolen from my locked PE locker, along with my friend's eyeliner, and three other girl's cellphones.
