ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE ON A BROADBAND/WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION!

Kitty Dynamite's thread reminded me of a little trick I know to make FireFox load pages much faster. Here it is:

So normally when you go to a webpage, FireFox will make one request to load something at a time. However, you can change this to make it make multiple requests at once. This causes pages to load very fast. Take these steps to make this happen:

  1. Type "about:config" into the adress bar and hit "enter".
  2. Scroll down and look for these entries:
    --network.http.pipelining, network.http.proxy.pipelining, and network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
  3. Alter these entries to be as such:
    --Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true".
    --Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true".
    --Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 8.
  4. Finally right-click anywhere and select New -> Integer.
--Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set it to 0.

BAM! Now your pages are loading so much faster! Aren't you happy? :D

Chyaa, it works amazingly doesn't it?! :D

Try it out on the MAD. I re-did this when making this thread to make sure I was doing it right, and that's a MASSIVE difference. @.@

I find that Opera is a gigantic pain in the butt. Sometimes it won't refresh pages, which is REALLY FREAKING IRRITATING when you're on a forum or something like that. Feh. The only good thing about it is that it doesn't use a lot of RAM.

Anyway, my internet loads pages pretty fast anyway, but I might try this later. :> Nice find, dude.
