| Has anybody ever had/made candy sushi? I just tried to make some, and I think they turned out terrible (the way they look, not the taste). I was making them for my Japanese class, and it's also my first time making them. The recipe that I had didn't really give much of an explanation... anyway, I want to know what everybody's thoughts are on candy sushi. Is there maybe something better that I could do for my Japanese class?

| How is this made? the only candy type ones I've made were with twinkies, gummy bears/worms and fruit roll ups. I found them quite tasty though very non Japanese.

| Sushi.. I don't think it already taste like candy.. I think people eat it because they want to feel cool >_>
Though, I'm probably wrong in a lot of cases. It was probably just me. Yeah, I tried some sushi before and wanted to like go get sick or something.. OH and I saw some green stuff on my plate thing and I was wondering what it was so I put it in my mouth... Yeah.... I didn't know what wasabi was back then.. you can probably guess the rest. XD

I made some kasutera for my Japanese class last year though and it turned out really well.

| i get what lexis saying... some people are just wannabes...
but for me... i like to try new japanese dishes whenever i can, seeing as i want to live in japan at some point... so far my favourites are tamago nigiri, maki, pumpkin korokke and dorayaki 
oh.... and kakesoba

| I had sushi once. Veggie sushi, cuz the cook said it's better for those who have never eaten raw fish before. It was pretty good. :3
Anyway...candy sushi? I can't even imagine it. XD

| Candy sushi... as in candy made in the shape of sushi? Mmmn, sounds like fun! I'll have to google up some recipes.
Hm, you could try something made with red bean paste. I love the taste of red bean paste.~ I had it in an ice cream one and it was soooo good...
