Zombie Take-Over (Open and accepting!)

Quinn was uncomfortable about sleeping with the threat of zombies looming over their heads. However, running on fumes as much as she had that day was just as bad, if not worse. Now that they had a chance to catch their breaths and wind down a bit, exhaustion hit her like a ton of bricks. Uncomfortable or not, she needed rest.

"Alright. That sounds like a plan." The teenager found and empty spot of floor and settled down. She used her arms as pillows, too tired to care that they smelled like zombie juices. She was fast asleep in moments.

The next morning, though it was impossible to tell if it really was as the cellar was immersed in darkness, was quiet. The snarls and banging from the outside had stopped sometime whilst everyone was asleep.

As Hal sat up, back aching from sleeping on a hard floor, he was afraid that they would all swarm back at the slightest noise. Beside him Cola raised her head and cocked it to the side, gazing at him as if to ask, 'are they really gone?'

Quinn woke up feeling hungry, sore, and tired enough that she was unsure if she had actually gotten any sleep. She couldn't remember the reason why she was sleeping on the floor instead of a bed. As a matter of fact, she couldn't remember much beyond her nightmare. Apparently Z-Day happened while she was in the airport and- wait. This was neither her room, nor a hotel.

With a groan, the teenager slowly pushed herself into a seated position. Her muscles protested the abuse they had suffered over the past 24 hours. Quinn attempted to massage the kinks out of her neck as she looked around. It seemed that Hal and his dog Cola were awake. Clara was still sound asleep. This wasn't a problem. They needed all the energy they could muster, if they were going to survive for very long.

Ha; rubbed his head and glanced at Quinn as she sat up. The floor had been ridiculously uncomfortable to sleep on and he was almost afraid to stand up and figure out just how much pain his back would be in.

Nevertheless, he tenderly stood up, grimacing all the while. Quietly as not to wake Clara, Hal dug through his back to reveal another apple and offered it to Quinn.

After some careful pondering, Quinn had decided that attempting to get to her feet would be fruitless. The way her limbs felt, she was just as likely to fall on her face as she was to get to a decent upright position. She looked up, noticing Hal moving about. Apparently he was feeling just as sore as she was. And, if he could get to his feet, she could too, loathe as she was to try.

She huffed slightly as she slowly pushed herself to her knees. By the time she had managed to stand up, Hal had found another apple for her. "Thank you," she murmured as she too the fruit. "Did you stay up all night keeping watch?"
