| I am 300 posts away from 15000 posts on Midorea!
I'm thinking of celebrating somehow, so offer suggestions and I'll put up a poll at a later date.
The real reason that I made this this is to commemorate this awesome site. I've been a staff member for a long time - October 6, 2008 - and a member for a little longer - September 17, 2008. Midorea is a very special place for me on the internet because of the wonderful community and the friends I've made. Some have stayed for a while, and some have simply come and gone, but I treasure each and every one. I don’t think that I’ve forgotten a single person that I’ve chatted with.
Y'see, I've never been very popular or sociable. I've never really cared, honestly, and I still don't. Somehow, though, Midorea brings out the best in me. I realize that I still show many faults and I'm accepting of that, but I think that this site has been very helpful in my own personal growth. I like feeling needed, and I am. I like working for people, and I do. I like making others happy, and I do that, too. Midorea really brings me everything that I enjoy - everything that life has kind of dropped for me.
Now, I can't say that I couldn't live without Midorea or that I'd be in a dark, desolate place without it, but I wouldn't quite be the same. I'm pretty easily discouraged, and without work, I get lethargic and bitter. I need to have a goal to work toward - any goal - so that I know I'm doing something worthwhile. This site keeps me busy whenever I need that work the most. The warm and amazingly friendly community keeps me constantly amused, always laughing or thinking. Here, we can switch between intelligent discussion, witty banter, and light-hearted jokes in a matter of minutes. Without doubt, this is the most pleasant community that I've ever come across online. It is the only community that I continuously return to.
I don't like bringing the spotlight to anyone, but I feel that in this case it needs to be done. Catghost, you've been a joy to work for. You're cheerful and hardworking, and a very understanding boss, if you will. I've always had problems with people telling me what to do, but not with you. I'm always more than happy to do whatever you ask, probably because I can tell how much work you've already put into this wonderful site. You're largely a one-woman show, and that just amazes me. Look at these wonderful items, everyone. Look at the layout and the fresh ideas. Look at the charm and compassion. It amazes me that she gets so much done with the time restraints that she gives herself, let alone with real-life interruptions. Cat, you're great. I love working under you, I truly do. I know I've said it many times, but again, never hesitate to assign me any jobs.
Well, that’s it. ^^; Sorry for getting long-winded on you all, but I just really do love this site. It kills me to see so little activity, so let’s amp it up! Let’s prove to Cat that her hard work is not in vain. She’s made a wonderful place for us to hang out at, and I’d like to continue that.

| Go Chu *Throws confetti* I know I have enjoyed this place since I came. This is the first place that I came to on my own without someone saying hey you should go here.
I was reading a web comic and honestly the artwork it showed in the tab I had thought it was anything web comic to tell the truth. I was like hey that looks neat Midorea I'll read that hey whoa a avatar site but like a million times better than an unmentionable place I won't name here. I'll join needless to say I was kindave lost at first but I have met some pretty cool people that I suppose I can call friends.
So I know I love it here. It may not be that active at times but it's full of people that seem to have some form of depth to them instead of bump this or bump that for moneys. There's actual conversation, and an rp forum that is spot on because you can be creative.
I don't know what I would do without Midorea probably go insane lol. I am glad I found this place and will definitely be sticking around.

| That's good. I'm glad to see the roleplay forum get so much love - another instance of hard work paying off. xP
Oh, yeah. This is the most genuine community that I've ever come across. On other avatar sites, it's all about the avatars and making currency. I'm really glad that's not an issue here, and I hope that it never will be.

| I know I could care less about having shiny things though they are nice to have. *Pets her nice things* It's not a requirement for me, I would rather have a community like the one I have discovered here than OMG can I has gold and can you give me this. O_O
It was a refreshing change to what I was used to from avatar sites such as the unnameable sellout that used to be good a million years ago but sold out and became a farce.

| *claps* yey Chu! and yey Cat too!
well i can say i feel the same ^^ or, similar at least haha! I havent been here nearly as long as you... so far its been 6 months the 2 big events ive been here for, plus the little new years rave, were a lot of fun! its a shame more people dont stick around between events, but i think i always will because i just love it here!
it can be a little too quiet sometimes, but i always try to post as much as i can to encourage others to do the same... we have some of the most interesting chats here, i've found new music and shows to watch, so on and so forth...
i think over time Mido can only get better! yeaaaa in the super-long-run maybe horrible things could happen, but i think that with active members like the ones we've got know, those sorts of users who tend to... well ruin things would be discouraged from sticking around XD
also i totally think you should do something to celebrate 15000 posts! lets have a virtual party!! >3< we could all wear a Chu Mouse on our avatars? 8D

| Hooray for Chu! And Maeve! And Cat! And every other regular person!
Ecc, I've been on here for less time than you, hitting three months last week, and I already feel at home here. The people that I have talked to are so amazingly nice, and the roleplays are fun, even though they consist of the same four or five people. It's interesting seeing everybody's range of characters.
I'm glad that this site is more about the conversations on here and less about "OMG GOLDZ PLZ?" I feel this is because this site consists of refugees of the previously mentioned areas, and they are here for conversation. I mean, I'm a refugee from other avatar sites, and have completely abandoned them for this one.
I honestly could say that my internet life would be less enjoyable if there was no Midorea. Then I'd have no place to roleplay!

| @Koyi: Sellouts are never good. D: Luckily I don't think that Midorea will ever get there.
@ecco: Haha, that'd be cute, for everyone to wear the Chu mouse. XDD I don't know if I'd like that though because I hate elitism and such. I know it's not really elitist, but I'm pretty hyper sensitive to the concept. I've gotten into quite a few debates over it on Mido alone.
Maybe I could donate to Mido and give the gold away? That's really iffy though because we're poor, and I'm trying to save every penny possible to move out. ;~; It'd really like to do it though...
@Maeve: I noticed too, congrats on making the list. :3
And I lurk the RP forum sometimes too. XD Don't feel bad.
@Keylaleigh: Woah, I didn't think that your account was that young! O: I commend you for participating so much, so early on.
Haha, yeah, Midorea's userbase is kinda like the spoils of other avatar sites, except in this case the spoils totally own. XD

| aww i thought it'd just be kinda fun to wear the chu mouse XD maybe we could do it for your birthday? its not like people would be obliged to, but it might be nice! like the mido naked day (which i wasnt here for) but it'd be a Chu-Mouse day hehehe.
i plan to donate when i start getting my student loans in. thats if all my money isnt used up on rent & food ;__; hopefully it'll be ok tho. im gonna try and get a job in london too so i should be able to starting october or so.
im not reeeeally a refugee of avi sites. as ive said before the only other one i'd used before was Gaia, unless you count Subeta as an avi site, but tbh that site doesnt seem to know WHAT it is. i joined it when it was brand new before Anonymous hacked it and my account disappeared because of it. it was fun then, now it sucks XD mostly i'd just been searching for a new place to call home. Neopets was my home... then all my friends left one by one for various reasons, we outgrew it... and DA was always my other home but i dont like the way its developed the last few years... ._.
Mido is perfect for me. I love conversation and being open and the fact that as already mentioned in this thread, its not all about the currency here.

| Congrats Chu! And yay for Cat and Maeve and LUF and all the other wonderful staff and users here. You make this place what it is.
I don't know what I would do on the internet without this site, honestly. I could never really get into other avatar sites before, but this one just clicked for me. I've been around for more than a year now, although it doesn't feel like it, and I wish I was as active as I used to be.
I remember when I first joined Midorea I was intimidated my your mod title, and it was a month or two before I really started talking to you. xD
Edit: I don't know who will run the Naked Day event this year, but I really hope we have it again. It was lots of fun, and I love the whole 'user run event' idea.

| Yeah, Ace, you never post anymore! D:
And I know that the titles can be a little intimidating. ^^; Luckily we get through to most people who are intimidated, and they realize that mods/artists/admins are just like any other Midoreans.
We're not sure if there will be a naked day this year. We've had such a dramatic drop in activity, and we already have a lot going on in the first place, that we just don't know if it's possible. (You'll see an increase in "events" if you will during the last half of this year.)
However, users are always welcomed to suggest their own user-run events, given that the events are unique enough to warrant attention, yet low-maintenance enough to not distract us from staff-run events. I'd suggest taking those issues to the Feedback & Suggestions forum to flesh out your ideas as much as possible though.

| I'm sorry! ;-; It's not like I don't come here all the time.
Aww, darn. Oh well, it was fun, and I'll always remember it. Ace doesn't have any ideas of her own for that kind of thing, she just liked the one we did have.
Events are fun. There one of the things that get Aces off their lazy butts and bein' active! Now I'm all curious about it. xD

| Wow, for some reason I kept thinking your were at 8,000. o.O You've even got Miu beat.
*throws confetti at your face* xD
And congrats! Your 2nd year Mido anniversary is coming up soon too. Only 2 months away.
Amazing, it doesn't even seem like it's been that long.
I suppose this great userbase is to blame for that. It is always so much fun to talk with everyone, and to discuss new features with the staff.
You all are the reason this place is so awesome. <3 Haha, I don't know what we'd do without you guys.
I'd like to say the same for you, Chu. c: It is a pleasure to be able to work with you. You're hard working and and an all around a great person.
You're always somehow able to balance my crazy ideas and ramblings with your level-headed and down to Earth personality. To tell you the truth I don't know how any of you staff survive with me as an admin lol. <3

| Well, I just want to congratulate you. That is a lot of posting.
I joined this site some time ago, myself, but I just had a lot of stuff come up so I really did not get the chance to really participate in it. I recently had to have the account reactivated so that I could do things on it. Essentially I am a new person here and so far the people I have seen seem very nice.
I don't know how, though, you have managed such a large post count. I have not seen that many threads that are active, at least when I'm able to log in. Of course, timing does seem to be a big thing on these types of sites and I seem to have bad timing.
I'm sure things will pick up for me. I love the items I have seen, and I can't wait to get my hands on something more then what I'm wearing at the moment.
You guys are doing a great job with the site, and I hope that things go smoothly for you.
