Bah, it's understandable, since most other sites don't accept double-posting.

I think the reason why we allow it is that some people (including an admin) tend to quote and answer messages one after the other, instead of putting them all in the same post. And since it doesn't give you more silver or anything, it's not a big problem.
Though, as I said, not so important info can just be place in your last post. Chances are people will see them too.
