Nothing. I think that people should have their own rights on whether they want to be gay or straight. So what if they're gay? I mean, if your religion is against it and all that, and you're really strict about what you believe, then I guess that's OK. But really, no one's really telling you, "Oh, gay people are the worst people on earth." NO! Some of them, I heard, are actually nicer then a lot of people. Even though it's kind of weird to say, "I'm gay," It's not like it's against a law or something. Plus, people should have their own rights to be what they want to be Cool

I've said this in another topic here, but I was raised in a VERY tolerant family. I love gay people. Just thought I'd say that.
Here's a story (a true one) About how cool I find gay people.
Ok, my mom was pregnant in highschool. With me. Most of her friends left her, thinking she was a terrorble person because she had a kid in her. Who was the majority of people besides my father who stayed with her during this whole thing? Her gay friends.
Story time over. There is nothing wrong with being gay. If a person says it's against the bible to be gay, I counter with the FACT that in the bible, slavery is accepted. Try telling someone that it's against the bible to be Against slavery.
I think it's against America's ideas to take away the rights of a person based on their sexuality. If I weren't in America, I'd frown upon America. Heck, I'm IN this country and I'm P.O.'d in the highest degree.
Hey America! Stop being a hypocrite!

That is an exceedingly good point, about slavery in the Bible. I'll be keeping that in mind the next time the so-called "faithful" people start gay-bashing.

Talking about gay issues, I find myself confused sometimes. I do unterstand what is love to a person of the same sex although I don't wish for it I think. Do you really think that the Bible isn't against homosexuality. I've heard about it once on another English-speaking site but I couldn't translate the discussion and quotes from the Bible to understand everything because I'm Russian myself. I'd feel really relieved if it turned out to be so because I do believe in God and the thought that I'm not against homosexual relationship upsets me because I don't want God to think I don't respect him. Maybe I'm wrong but I simply can't get how love can be disgusting? It can sometimes be very painful but not disgusting I think. If it is true love. I mean that maybe people hate gay people so much and want to take their rights off is because they have seen a lot of fake gay couples. Not very long ago there was the Gay Parade in my country, a lot of men put tons of make up on their faces, wore colourful dresses and high-heeled shoes and went ouside. Then there was a mess because other people started to hiss and throw tomatoes and eggs at them. The gays did the same thing. Then the police had to interfere and it was just...terrible. Both these gays and straight people looked worse than wild animals. I just want to say that all people, no matter what their sexual orientation is, are just people and they all can be nice or rude, understanding or indifferent.

People are trying to amend the Constitution to take away gay rights. Where do these people get off saying the Constitution, what gives everyone rights, should take them away?

I really don't understand where the hatred comes from anymore.

I mean, the bible does NOT say anything against a man loving another man. All references to homosexuality prove Jesus was in reference to straight men who would cheat on their wives with male Pagen whores. PROOF SAYS MEN LOVING MEN IS NOT SACRILEGIOUS! D<

If America ever amends the Constitution to take away gay rights, I'm moving to Canada.

Think I could be a good Canadian actor? XD
I would be interested in seeing these bible references that you mention. As I recall one of the biggest sins of Sodom and Gamora was due to men doing the stuff that they shouldn't be with other men. But then I've had this discussion with another guy beofre and the discussion came down to he believed angels to be sexless beings where as I belive angels do have gender. So that also gets to be one of the problems with the bible and trying to use it as religious law. Everybody just interprets it to fit how they think. But the problem that I have with homoseuality is that I believe such acts break down the family unit as god intended it to be, and when family fails, society fails, and then we fall into anarchy and chaos ect... So while I don't want to pass hatred around I'm never going to approve of immoral behavior such as that and I will always vote against any gay rights type movement because of where I believe such actions are leading us.

Jazz; i dont understand why some people being gay is going to break down family units. So long as they are always honest about their sexuality and dont marry someone of the opposite sex, have kids then go "hey ya know what, changed my mind, im not really into vaginas" (or vice versa) then whats the problem?

seriously. if a gay man marries a gay man, or a woman to a woman, how is that going to affect heterosexual couples and their children? and besides, theres plenty of children that need adopting/fostering in the world, so gay couples can even be a good thing by taking in a child who doesnt have a family anymore.

its even present in the animal world. a newborn penguin was rejected by its heterosexual parents, and was then taken in by a male x male pair instead. personally, i think that is just awesome. :3

Truthfully, it's a huge world out there and I couldn't care less about who loves who as long as their happy and it doesn't affect me. Two guys kissing on the street, guy and girl kissing on the street, who cares. As long as both couples kept the kissing noise down, perverts.

I agree. I mean, some gay people are nice. Really. Also, people should have their rights (including who they choose to love.) If one day gays took over the world and decided that a guy and a girl can't fall in love, we'd think that's a problem (especially the girls). But we don't think it's a problem when we discriminate against gays! That's just wrong. I mean, it's really not that bad seeing guys acting like girls or whatnot.

Also, I think that gays should be able to adopt and raise a kid as well. It's not like "Oh, you're gay and so you can't take care of kids," because some guys could also be really good mothers. Sometimes even better than females, yup. So I think that gays are perfectly fine, even if everyone else says it's not OK. Then all the gays would love me. Haha. No, just kidding.

This is why I don't read the Bible, I'm sorry.

I don’t get it。 I mean, if that's what they feel, then OK, so what? People shouldn't be judged and what they like. Being gay doesn't mean that they're terrible or weird people. Everyone has to be able to be accustomed, gosh. I hate it when they go against gays. The ones I know are extremely nice as well。 People who goes against gays aren’t thinking about what they’ll think about。 Horrible people *o*

Edit:Sorry because of the weird font; it’s because I’m typing in the Chinese-font thing。

Honestly, America's hypocrisy pisses me off alot as well.
I am glad my religion is very accepting of open sexuality. The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America) passed over a year and a half ago that pastors in our churches are allowed to have any sort of marriage they wish, wether heterosexual or not.

This is great, because I love gay people in general. They are honest, sincere, and very open armed, as well as logical. They make sense of things that most people are hypocrites about.

So, what I'm saying is that, people would do it anyways, and would be very happy about it. So let it be legal and stop hating. Maybe we should start stoning people again, hm? Or let slavery be legal?
If that doesn't make sense, well, I confuse myself as well. Drop the subject.

*facepalm*
That's not the point. -.-
Shouldn't ALL people, even if they're gay, have the right to be happy?
That's the real question here.

See, Canada is awesome! Happy We let everyone who is in love, be in love!

But yah, who in the world has the right to tell someone that the person they love is a person they are not suppose to love? NO ONE! It is cruel how some religions say that gay marriage is wrong. How is it any more wrong that opposite gender marriages? Hey, we're all human. Let's be happy with that!

I mean, say there is a boy who has a strong belief in his religion (I won't name any) and so are his parents. Well, what if one day, he brings his boyfriend home and it turns out that his religion doesn't allow him and his boyfriend to be together anymore? Where does he turn when his parents look at them with their noses turned up? "Oh son, to god there are no gays." Well, if there is a god (not saying there isn't), wouldn't he be proud of all of us anyway?

Love is a strange thing. As long as everyone is loved, no matter who to, the world should be happy!

Actually, I think it says in Leviticus, the book of rules God gave to someone...one of his prophets or something that 'if an man lays with another man as he would with a woman, they much both have their head cut off'. Or something to that extent.

But hey, I'm a Christian, and I'm completely fine with homosexual people - I have a lot of friends who are, and I'm bi myself.

I think most of the hatred of gay people comes from a fear of not understanding things.

I don't believe religion matters in these sort of circumstances any way. in This country we are alowed to be any religion we want... so what does what the bible say have anything to do with it in the first place?

And secondly... it doesn't say anything about women not being alowed to lay with other women like they would a man ;D heh
