I understand where your coming from though. I have that reaction to some anime. Eva is heavy on so many levels and totally worth watching. :3 *stops self from ruining it*

Make sure to get the movies aswell as the series so you can not have to deal with the not great ending.

I hate Sailor Moon, so i guess we're even. ;D I was allways a Dragon Ball (and startrek) fan as a kid. I had a crush on Vegeta, Gul Dukat and Seven of Nine from the time i was like.... 8. xD

GW is harder to watch now i'm older, but i used to watch it religiously in my tweenage years so it holds a special place in my heart for that.

Hellsing is just.... Guh... Win.

It can be disconcerting if you can't deal with gore (and i'm talking about the original here, not the new version which discusts me, just needless.), but the story excelent, the music is amazing, the characters are fantastic and it has some of the best lines ever. It manages to have just the right amount of depth and quantity of bloody without bogging you down with being depressing or grossing you out.

But it's something you need to watch in order, and watch the first few epps in a row. I really really enjoy it, but i can understand how you might find it difficult to cope with.

Also Alucard is like the epitome of everything a vampire is to me. He's an amazing character. (my one gripe is Serras' boob size and costume, allways pissed me off, but unfortunatly sexism is pretty rampant in most anime and they do give her a fuckin' huge gun. Also the stregnth of Sir Integra Hellsing mollifies the feminist in me to some point because she's such a fantastically strong and amazing female character.)

Alot of the anime i like is heavy on the plot. (with afew exceptions) And often gets quite dark. With good characterisation and occasional laughs. : )

Oh and the animation has to be appealing, i hate badly animated art. xP

Sailor Moon was what opened me to the world of anime though. I used to ride my bike home fucking hard to make it in time to watch Sailor Moon and of course DBZ(HUGE trunks fangirl hurr) right after it on toonami in 5th grade. xD

I don't generally like animes that are too serious like I find gundam to be, they have to be at east a little fun. The only exception to this I think would be Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. LOVED that anime.

Eva is definitely on my to watch list when I have the time.

Bleach has really great characters. It doesn't seem dark as there is a lot of fighting and comic relief, but it does deal with heavy subject matter such as death, unrequited love, conspiracy & betrayal, and questioning justice. The pace is so fun though that a lot of people don't realize the severity of what's going on I guess. I'm trying my best to describe it. xD It DEFINITELY has some dark characters, but it's not the majority. There's a lot of character so there's a pretty equal ratio of all types. There's good balance.

Whatever, i'm stocked about my interview this weekend. This is my first time doing a phone interview. Normally i either have them in the studio so i can tell them exactly what i want them to do or not do, or i pre-record it and edit it all down.

So i'm stressed and excited.

For the anniversary of Dragon Ball they have been re-airing dragon ball z, but they have cut all the filler out and improved the quality. It is awesome, a 3 minutes battle no longer takes 10 episodes. It's supposed to be more true to the manga as well. They got almost all the original voice actors to come back for it, it's been airing for a couple months now. You can watch it on YouTube. :3

It's summer proper here, but we had a sandstorm and a fire and a cold-front come crashing on us all in one day, so there's quite some excitement!

I love the snow and I'm making peace with the cold, but I can't stand the dark yet..
