Why is it that they only seem to speak to some people and not to others? For instance, I tried to speak to Sho and he just ignored me but he's constantly conversing with Aaya-Tan (who seems to have "claimed" him in her sig?)

Plus... several times I (and many others) have made a point to say that we are looking for clan leaders (and sometimes these quests go for several pages) and they never show up.

I understand that the NPCs can't always be around but I know they can interract with people, I feel its unfair that their interaction is only with a few, specific people. (From what I've seen when I'm around them, anyway)

The NPCs are played by staff members. Honestly, they're just more likely to RP with people they know, with people who already have some sort of ... established connection, whether in character or out of character.

Aaya has interacted with Sho before, thus making it easier to interact with him again. It's not impossible to get them to play with you, but it's important to think of them as regular RP'ers.

Who are you more likely to RP with? A person or character you know, or one you don't?

I haven't roleplayed this weekend, but I feel that when I'm on an account it's hard to get the attention of others. Eventually I get bored and get off.

I don't play favorites with anyone; I just try to interact with whoever will talk to me. I just figured certain members were ignoring the NPC's because they were suspicious of stealing lotus blooms, so I didn't want to push it.

Also, sometimes we try to randomly pop in and act suspicious without really interacting with others. It's not as if we're purposefully ignoring anyone; we're just trying to spread suspicion around.

Whenever I try to RP no one usually ever responds to me. So I'm basically the same as Chu, I get bored and leave.
And Sho might just not see your post, as they are focusing on Aaaya's, perhaps you could quote their post directly.... Maybe that would get their attention?

Well if that's the case, then I'm sorry that this happened. Hopefully an NPC will be online while you are, so that you get that chance. I'll admit that it really isn't fair to a lot of users, but only so much can be expected, you know?

There are still some days left though, so I'm sure you'll get the chance. ^^

There's an NPC claiming thread, by the way. So yes, I did 'claim' him. Sorry if that rubs you the wrong way, but he's a cute npc and possibly the only other person who roleplays with me AT ALL on this entire site. :>

Well, no one ever really notices Sho 'sept maybe me and one or two others, in which the player interacts with.

This is about the Tu player not paying attention. Half the time, Kasumi, you're wrapped up in your rp with Benimaru, so it's just automatically assumed that you're speaking with just him. Unless you quote someone, no one's going to know who the heck you're talking about.

We like to rp with our friends because we talk over private messages or something, knowing what's still allowed, how to keep it in character, with plot, without giving it out.

I can't help it if I'm awesome. *shot* But seriously, don't get bent out of shape.

I've had the same thing happen. And the NPC's aren't necessarily celebrities. They're just mods playing under a different account, just like on Valenth. It's not a big deal if they do or don't notice you. It's just a roleplay, it's not something you should really get all miffed about.

To be honest, you wanna know the truth?

Sho and SasorizaKitty are the ONLY people who even notice that I exist in the rp.

But I don't get upset when I speak directly to Lien and Tu and Mizu and they don't respond back. You just gotta understand, mods are extremely busy. They post sporadically to go with the plotline that they have going for the event. They're not going to sit around for three horus waiting to be noticed, and they're not going to go back 30 pages to find your post, either.

They're having enough trouble keeping up with the post count, so, just chill. Not much can be done, they'll either not interact with anyone (I should hope not, I'll lose one of my only rp partners in the entire thread and may just drop out in all entirety) or try harder.

Thing is, everyone gets all starry eyed and gaga over them. "OMG NPC LET'S ALL GO OVER AT ONCE AND MAKE THEM NOTICE US"

It's hard enough to interact with two people, try five little fanboys/girls that just want a little bit of glory time (Not that you do, but it's happened and I've seen it everywhere and it sickens me.).

So like I said, just shake it off and keep up with your rp. You and Ben are in your own little world in that thread, that's why no one interacts with you. Branch out, reach out to people, don't just leave something open. No one's going to reach out, once we have our little rp niche, we don't need more people unless they put themselves into it.

Gotta reach out to specific people, that's what makes an rp an rp. So, just try harder to interact.

And the help thread isn't really supposed to be a ranting thread, either, so, keep that in mind. :>

I didn't see it as a rant, Aaya. It seems that Kasumi was merely asking a question and wanted to know if her reasoning was accurate or not. There's really no need to start a debate, either. Of course, you made good points, but I got a feeling of spite from your post.

I'm in the same boat with Weaseldale on this. Your posts are long and so detailed that I'm not even sure when would be an appropriate spot for me to jump in.

Normally, you'd be the first character that mine would be drawn to, because of the spider.

I have been role playing pretty much exclusively with Benimaru since he joined the thread. What I was talking about in this thread happened before he was there, when I did approach Sho (who's last post was 2 before mine) and he didn't respond.

Benimaru and I are doing our thing at this point if only to be entertained. We're hoping to get to one of the NPCs eventually, though, because we are looking for them. Our characters are actively trying to figure out what is wrong with the trees.
