"They're... gone..." he said.

"They killed themselves without a moment's hesitation... I guess they really didn't care about me..." he added, sounding more and more depressed.

"Salem..." Aimee said quietly before getting off of the bed she was on and kneeling in front of him. Once there, she just wrapped her arms around him, not caring that it hurt to be on her knees. She just thought that maybe there was a chance that a hug would help... Maybe...

He was still for a moment, having no reaction whatsoever, before he returned the hug, and held her close.

"Well... that may not, exactly, be true." Emery said.

"Huh? What... do you mean?" Salem asked.

Victoria just chuckled slightly.

"Well, let's just put it this way, seems you will truly be able to take care of our baby girl, if you so desire, now." She said.

"Salem, are you confused? 'Cause I sure as hell am..." Aimee commented as she sat back from him.

Salem just looked more and more lost, as the headmaster sighed.

"Well... your parents accrued a decent sized fortune in their lifetime." he said.

"And law states that if it is not to be left to a family member, it will be used by the ministry." he continued.

"So... they decided that, as much of a failure as I am, I would at least be better than the ministry getting it?" Salem asked.

"Pretty much." Emery answered.

Victoria just sighed.

"Did it have to be said like that? Way to pick the boy up." She muttered.

"But, in all seriousness, at least you have one hell of a sack of cash now." She said, to Salem.

Salem sighed.

"Well... yeah, at least there's that." he said.

"Financially speaking, I'll be set for life." he shrugged.

"Doesn't really change the fact that my parents never really caring still bugs me."

"I know. But kid, you have to remember one thing, the fact that you and them saw things different, saw different sides of the same coin, would have set you apart regardless." Victoria told him.

"Even if you would have tried to be the son they wanted, your true personality would have shone through, and it probably would have been messier than you've known."

"......okay, fair enough." Salem said.

"So, what now?" Emery asked.

"Well, after the graduation ceremony, I'm selling my parent's house. Hate that place." Salem growled.

"Then, I'm going to take a vacation. Somewhere warm." he told them.

"I just wish I could have some company with me..." he added in a bit of a coy tone, smirking to Aimee.

Victoria just shook her head lightly, a smirk on her face as Aimee almost looked lost.

"So... why don't you find someone to go with you?" She asked, not realizing that he meant her.

Emery was silent for a moment.

"Really...?" he asked, as the headmaster chuckled.

"Er... Aimee... I was referring to you..." Salem told her.

"I... what?" She asked, which just net a sigh from Victoria.

"Why?" Aimee asked.

"After the past bit.." she added, trailing off a bit, figuring he would be able to piece what she was thinking together himself. She wasn't going to say no, if he truly wanted her to go with him, though.

"The past is the past." he told her.

"And... well... I want you with me." he then said.

"It just won't be the same... it won't even be fun... unless you're there with me."

Aimee just smiled slightly.

"All right then. Good enough for me." She told him.

"But you're not leaving until after you're healed. Completely." Victoria stated, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.

"And neither of you are leaving until after the graduation ceremony." Emery added, the same finality in his tone.

"No problem." Salem said with a smile, before turning to Aimee.

"Right?"
