| He had heard that. He knew he heard that. So he then decided to make himself known.
He looked over and acted like this was the first time he noticed her, and them.
"Hey!" he called out.
"Aimee!" he shouted, as he started to make his way over.
"What's going on? Where are you going?" he asked.

| Aimee jumped and looked over to Salem.
"Salem? The hell are you doing here?" she asked before sighing.
"I'm being taken in for questioning." She told him.
"Salem? Young man, are you the Salem that Ms. Sherwood here was saying that she was playing Chess with?" He was asked

| He looked to the one that asked him the question, and nodded.
"I am Salem Xeccan." he said.
"And I did, indeed play chess with Aimee." he told him.
"It was in the Great Hall." he added.

| The man looked him up and down before looking to the headmaster.
"All right then. Professor, we shall return when the need arises." He told the headmaster before leaving with the others as Aimee just breathed a sigh of relief.

| He watched them go, before looking to Aimee.
"Aimee?" he asked.
"What was with all that?" he asked her.
"I'm willing to bet that it wasn't anything good, but... care to elaborate?"

"Nevermind. Just... nevermind." She added before shaking her head.
"I need to get ready, I have detention that I need to get ready for." She said before just leaving.

| He turned and quickly followed her.
"Wait, what do you mean detention?" he asked.
"What all did you do?" he asked further.
He wasn't trying to run it in or anything of the sort, he was just truly curious about what she could have done to deserve a detention... and if it was connected with the earlier encounter.

| ".... Beat a dormmate bad enough that they had to be sent to the hospital wing..." Aimee answered with a sigh as the Headmaster walked off.
"So, I have to go serve detention. The only reason I'm not at risk for expulsion, is because it was agreed that it was self-defense."

"Your beat a dormmate enough to sent them to the medical wing? And it was self-defence?" he continued to ask.
"Wow... must have been some sort of fight." he commented.
"Almost wish I could have been there to see it."

| "I'd rather not get into it, but the staff agree that Im not the one at fault here. I'm only getting detention because I should have gone to the staff, instead of retaliating." Aimee told him.

"That's the problem with this school." he said.
"Too much focus on pacifistic 'non-violent' conflict resolution." he told her.
"If the current war has taught us anything, it's that it doesn't work."

"Thanks for your help earlier. If there's anything I can do to repay you, please, lemme know." She added. "But now, I gotta go. I'll catch you later, I'm sure."

| "There's no need to pay me back." he assured her with a small wave of his hand.
"But you want to meet up later or something?" he asked.
"You're one of the few people that I can consider a friend in this school." he added.
And it was true. Even though he was in his final year, he had very few close friends. So much so, that they were in the single-digit numbers.

"I'll stop by the Gryffindor common room and knock looking for you when I'm done my detention if you want." She told him

He then gave her his dorm room number.
"If you don't see me in the common room, come knocking there." he told her, before heading off and waving to her.
