"He's the one that immediately assumed that -I- was the one who had anything to do with this." Casey stated simply.

"I didn't kill Linds, I didn't drag his soul back here." She added.

"Doubt I would have been able to, either."

"That's not what he meant." he told her.

"He was referring to all your past efforts to educate me and raise my intelligence, and if all of them had finally taken affect and come to fruition." he explained.

"Wouldn't have happened to suddenly if it was that." Casey said with a shrug.

"It just... it wouldn't have been so quick, so sudden."

"Stranger things have happened." he told her.

"We didn't know about what they did... it may have worn off and dissipated because of your efforts." he continued.

".........and it sounds more plausible than the truth." he admitted.

"I... I don't know." She said with a sigh before getting comfy again.

"I just... I don't know. I don't care, what happened, happened. Nothing can change it and dammit, I don't want to. I like you having a brain."

"I can get used to it as well." he said, as he got beside her and held her close.

"So don't worry... myself and my new intelligence aren't going anywhere." he assured her.

"You better not." Casey said before just holding onto him, burying her face into his shirt.

"I lost Linds, and while no, it wasn't the end of the world for me... I think I would end up in a spiral that I wouldn't be able to pull myself out of if I were to lose you.." she said, admitting for the first time how hard losing Linds hit her, even if it hadn't been an outright admittal.

He rubbed her back and kissed her forehead.

"I'm here for you." he said.

"And I promise I'll help you through this."

"I know you are, Lindsay. It's damn hard to kill you, I've tried the odd time you've pissed me off." Casey said with a small chuckle as she curled up to him.

"You have no idea how relieved I am that you didn't go along with Linds...."

He chuckled as well.

"I'm glad too." he said.

"I love you, Casey." he then whispered.

"I love you too, Lindsay. " Casey said quietly.

"And I know I haven't shown it much for the past bit, and I'm sorry for that. But please.. don't doubt it."

"I never will." he replied.

"And I never did." he added, as he just cuddled into her and held her close with his arms.

Casye just smiled as she curled up with Lindsay. She didn't feel any more words were needed, and if any were said, it would probably come out sounding forced. So... she didn't say anything, just stayed where she was. It didn't take long, either, before she was asleep, ad it was easy to tell that it was a better sleep than she'd had in quite awhile.

Lindsay too, fell asleep... and it, as well... was one of the better sleeps he'd ever had.

It seemed that, finally, despite all that had happened to them in the past... things were finally starting to go a little right for them.
