The city is flourishing, what with the new and respected King, Arthur Pendragon, taking the throne after Uther’s untimely death. People of Camelot are excited for Albion’s new beginning, although some are rather apprehensive. Due to Uther’s death being related to magic, Arthur still clings to his father’s ways. Anybody caught using or associating oneself with magic is executed, and therefore some of those who possess magic are not keen to recognize Arthur as their King. Thus, an old magic society that had died out during The Purge has rekindled in Camelot, and is growing in numbers. Their intentions are not necessarily evil; they only wish to see magic brought back and accepted once again within Albion.

Unfortunately, there are those who believe that Arthur will never come to embrace magic and want him overthrown, much like his sister, Morgane, a young witch, who seeks to rule over Camelot. Although not all hope is lost. Magic is on Arthur’s side as well, whether he knows it or not. Merlin, a young, powerful wizard and the last Dragon Lord, knows that his destiny is intertwined with Arthur’s, and will do anything to ensure that Arthur becomes the King that Albion is in desperate need of.

It is a time where allegiance either lies with or against the King of Camelot. There is a silent war in Albion, and it is threatening to become one of the most hostile times in its history.

Character Profiles

Quote:
Username: Malverne
Name: Tamyra
Age: 15
Sex: Female
Profession: Healer/Witch
Appearance: Tamyra is very tall for her age, reaching five foot eight. She has broad shoulders for a girl, and lost all of her baby fat a while ago due to a harsh life, and is rather gangly. She has jet black hair that hangs loose, and reaches halfway down her back. Her eyes are mismatched, one being amber, and the other being very light gray. She has a wide mouth with teeth that seem rather sharp when she smiles.
Tam generally wears calf-high boots, leather pants (it’s in the north, where’s it’s too cold and windy for skirts), a long woolen tunic belted at her hips. Over the tunic, she has an archer’s vest, and she also has a pair of gloves. ON the belt are two daggers, one for everyday use and one for more magical purposes, and a number of pouches for various herbs. Strapped to her back is a bow with a quiver full of arrows.
Tam also has tattoos covering her upper arms and back, which are very helpful in her witchcraft. They’re symbols, mostly, and are covered by her clothes. She has a few scars on her hands from clumsy knifework, and a thick scar on her left thigh, that gives her a slight limp.
Skills: Tam is a powerful witch with control over disease. She can either heal maladies, or spread them. She can spread singular, already existing diseases that she knows through touch, but if she wants to create a specific disease (or cure for a disease) that’s actually a bunch of symptoms thrown together, she must spend time brewing it. Depending on how much energy she puts into inflicting someone with an illness, it can move extremely quickly, or fester for a long time.
Tam can also heal wounds, but inflicting cuts and suchlike is beyond her. She’s a decent herbalist, because she uses medicinal plants to augment her healing. Tam is fair at using her knives with everyday problems, but can’t really fight. Her brother taught her how to use a bow and arrow, and she uses it to hunt animals for food, although she prefers buying meat that was butchered correctly. Tam has basic survival skills, and knows how to live through a cold night.
Personality: Tam is rather bitter and cynical. She holds a lot of anger in her, not against anyone in particular, but against the people who think she’s evil for practicing magic. This anger comes through in a cold brutality, channeled either in violence or threats. She really likes scaring people with her threats, although she can’t really tell people that she’s a witch, so she doesn’t get to threaten many people. However, at her core, Tam is very lonely. She really doesn’t have any family left. Her main goal right now is to take revenge.
History:Tamyra was born at the north end of Loch Ness, outside a town called Inverness-shire. Her father disappeared before she was born, so Tam was raised by her mother. Also present in the household was Tam’s half-brother (whose father had also left before he was born) named Corc. Tam’s mother was a witch, and made her living healing people in the nearby town. She taught Tam how to do heal others of wounds, fatigue, and disease, then one day disappeared. Tam took up her mother’s vocation, becoming a healer. By working with sick and injured people, Tam found that she could not only take away disease, but give it. She never used this until a man assaulted her one night. She spat in his face, and the next day, the man died of a disease that normally takes months to be lethal.
Word of Tam’s witchcraft spread until it reached a church official’s ears, who then sent a few knights after her. They visited her home and attacked her and her brother. Corc didn’t survive the attack, but they took Tam alive. She was injured pretty badly, and they managed to take her halfway to Camelot before she escaped and decimated the group. Tam started heading south, to Camelot, knowing that they would expect her to go north, to home. She intends to take her revenge on the church, and if Camelot suffers because of it…well, so be it.

Username: Malverne
Name: Sir Allyn the Ratter of House Glynn
Age: 59
Sex: Male
Profession: Knight
Appearance:: Sir Allyn is an older knight, who once stood tall in gleaming armor, black hair gleaming in the sun, with blue eyes sparkling. Now…less so. His hair has lightened, turning light gray, and he has shrunk slightly. He has a white beard covering his jaw that he keeps well trimmed, along with a moustache. A stray spell took out his right eye, and he wears a black eyepatch to hide the empty socket, but the patch does not hide the outer edges of the burn scar. He still has vestiges of his handsome face, and has a very kind smile, but he is worn down by time. Sir Allyn wears plain and unadorned armor when on official business, mail and plate, covered by a tabard with his house’s mark on it: a green wyvern on a field of azure.
Skills:Allyn is good with a sword, a horse, and is very good with other people. He’s been through many witch-hunts, and knows how they think, and how they hide. Therefore, he is rather good at finding them, and he isn’t that bad at killing them either.
Personality:Allyn is a kind old man who wants to retire. He is honorable, being a knight and all, and does not do harm to a person who does not mean him harm, unless his liege lord commands it. He has strong morals, and is very loyal. Allyn is charismatic and loving, and is very smart. He knows how people with something to hide think, and is very good at finding magic-users, hence his title. More than anything else, Allyn loves his wife and children. He is starting to doubt the true threat of magic-users, and he vows that this will be the last mage-hunt that he’s a part of.
History:Sir Allyn the Ratter of House Glynn was born Allyn Glynn. He grew up as the second son to a poor English lord. His older brother learned to be lord, while Allyn became a squire to one of Uther Pendragon’s knights. He was a good boy, and grew into a good man. Uther knighted him, and Allyn swore fealty to him. Allyn was not the best at swordplay or riding (he wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t the best) but he was very good at inspiring people. During one of Uther’s larger witch-hunts, Allyn found himself chasing mages, but all trails had gone dry. Then, he found his talent for sniffing out the magic-users, highborn and gutter-dwellers. Uther made good use of that talent, and Sir Allyn became known as Allyn the Ratter.
When Uther fell, Allyn’s oath was accepted by Arthur. By this point, Allyn was an older man, longing to put an end to his time on the battlefield. When the court got word that there was a secret magical society, even if this ‘word’ was just rumors and whispers, Allyn was charged with finding the mages. He is tired of finding scared people, grasping at straws to live, and he wants to go home. But, his loyalty is strong, and he will do as his king commands. But…this is his last witch-hunt.

Username: Keylaleigh
Name: Marian Learmount
Age: 25
Sex: Female
Profession: Minstrel, Mage Hunter
Appearance: Marian Learmount, more commonly called by only her last name, is a slender young woman of average height with a smattering of freckles all over her body. She has a quick smile and sympathetic hazel eyes. Atop her head is a messy mop of mid-back length chestnut colored hair that she keeps slightly tamed in a ponytail and a black cap. She wears a simple tunic of teals and greens over a rough grey work shirt and a simple brown skirt with boots for ease of movement. The only piece of jewelry she wears is a small piece of carved wood wrapped in wire on a leather cord.
Skills: Marian is an accomplished poet, singer, and lute player like the Learmounts before her. Unfortunately, she also has other abilities passed down from descendant to descendant.
The first of these is the ability of foresight. She can sometimes predict the future of a person with stunning accuracy. Unfortunately, this gift is not as strong in her as it was with her ancestors.
The next gift is the ability of second sight. She can naturally see things from the other world, such as faeries and magic. People who practice magic have a shimmering glow around them in her eyes. She can also use this gift to communicate with the fae in their home world.
The final gift is, in her mind, more of a curse: the ability of true-speaking. No matter how hard she tries, Marian cannot lie. In fact, the more she struggles to lie about something, the faster the truth comes out.
Personality: Learmount has always been a cautious young woman, trying to choose her words carefully and always aware of what she is saying to others. Upon first meeting her, she is quiet and observant, but slowly she becomes extremely talkative once she feels that she can trust the group or person she is with. Due to her natural abilities, she is blunt and honest, sometimes when she does not want to be. The other thing that her true-speaking ability has done to her is made her extremely apoligetic, even for things that were not her fault whatsoever. However, Learmount does her best to be kind, and does her best to bring harm to nobody.
History: Marian Learmount is the newest descendant of the fabled line of the Rhymer which began when a young man was taken away by the faerie queen and was given gifts after he spent seven years with her. The gifts were passed from eldest child to eldest child until finally making it to where they are today.
The Learmount family had always lived in a small farmhouse near Camelot, as nobles frequently went there to have their futures told to them, and it was stated in a prophecy by the first Rhymer that one of his descendants had to ride alongside the king in his time of need. None of them know when that time would come, so all of them stayed nearby. As a little girl, Marian had few friends, as most could not take her blunt honesty, but she didn't mind, as the fae kept her company. When she got older, she made her way to Camelot to seek her fortune as a minstrel.
For a while, she made a good living of it, and was well liked by the court. One day, however, she made a slanderous comment about a high-standing noble while he was around to hear it. Outraged, he took her aside and threatened to put her in prison for life. As she quickly apologised and explained who she was to him, he stopped, and figured out a better deal.
"I will let you live freely as long as you do a special job for me. As you know, magic is illegal in this fair country, and I need someone to catch the perpetrators...."
And so the deal was made: In order to stay out of prison, Learmount would travel the city and beyond using her second sight to hunt for practitioners of the forbidden arts and bring them to justice.

Username: Sonatina
Name: Lady Elaine of Corbenic
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Profession: Lady of Corbenic, Mother, Wife
Appearance: Elaine is a high bred lady and dresses as such, elegant gowns and embroidered cloth (She prefers whites, greens, and blues). She normally wears her dark red hair down, spilling down her back in waves, with the occasional decorative braid or hair piece. She stands around 5' 7" and always with good posture. As a lady she keeps her skin soft and white, without blemish. Her grey eyes are normally rimmed with kohl to make them stand out.
Skills: From a very young age Elaine was taught all that a lady needed to know, how to run a household, balance accounts, sew, embroider, read, and write. Elaine is an excellent rider and knows how to handle a knife, and keeps one by her side at all times. She has exceptional charismatic skills and can normally persuade anyone to do anything, which comes in handy when dealing with other lords, ladies and common folk. Elaine also has a knack for having her hand in every scheme and plot that is going on wherever she is.
Personality: Elaine is a loving mother, who only wants the best for her two children, Edwin (8} and Aurora (6), she tolerates her old decrepit husband solely for the money and luxuries he provides her and her children with. She is exceedingly curious about everything that is happening around her in case anything could benefit her and her children, in fact she has a small army of spies out wherever she is, working as informants on any strange behavior, especially of the magical kind. Very little goes on without her knowing it, but she isn't a gossip and won't spill other people's secrets unless she is in need of a helping hand or of a little black mail. It is a very bad idea, though, to get on her bad side, as she has a nasty taste for revenge in the most perverse ways. She puts up a false facade of sweetness though, whenever it is needed.
History: As a child Elaine grew up in the walls of Astolat, only leaving special occasions. She was never close to her mother and father as she was raised by her nurse who taught her all she knows, except for the horseback riding skills, which were taught to her by her elder brother, Christen (he is also the one who gave her short instruction on how to use a knife). As she was sheltered when she was younger, Elaine only heard rumors and whispers of magic users and the powers they had. But when she was eleven Christen fell deathly ill and a witch healed him, so though magic is outlawed Elaine realizes the usefulness of such power and would give almost anything to be able to control that power.

Username: Sly
Name: Aldreda
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Profession: Gardener/Groundskeeper
Appearance: Aldreda is of medium build, a bit on the short side and rather curvaceous; in fact she has a look that suggests that even though she's not particularly plump, she could be if given the right circumstances. She has a round, friendly face which is usually adorned with a gentle smile. She is fair-skinned with inquisitive, blue-green eyes. Her strawberry blond curls are usually kept in a long side-braid, which she will tie up in a bun if the occasion is more formal. She has the look of good breeding, although, as a Druid, any trace of nobility in her line was eradicated with Uther's great purge. Aldreda usually wears simple woolen dresses and tied tops as well as a pocketed apron containing gloves, and various other sundries for gardening when she is working. She also wears a braided leather cord around her neck, presumably with a charm attached, which is always concealed beneath her clothing. Since she works so much with her hands, her fingers are rough and calloused, her short nails almost always with traces of dirt under them.
Skills: Born and raised within a group of Druids living on the forested outskirts of the city, Aldreda is well-versed in the ways of nature and magic alike. She posses a good deal of natural talent and is sort of a Jack (or in her case, Jill xD ) of-all-trades, magically speaking. She can sometimes see spirits and otherworldly things, commune effectively with nature, see brief glimpses into the future (although usually it's nothing very concrete) and can sense someone's intentions to some degree. As a magical being, herself, Aldreda can also sense other magic users when given enough time around them. It's not that she's particularly gifted at any one of these skills, but she is proficient enough for survival in her world. However, Aldreda's real gift is her ability to manipulate and understand plants; this is, obviously, why she makes such an excellent gardener. xD; Despite her skill-set, Aldreda has never been in any real altercations, and is far better at hiding who she is than fighting to defend it; it's not exactly that she can't, she's just been able to avoid any real confrontation thus far. She also has a fair knowledge of spells and, due to her work with plants of various sorts, a basic understanding of healing herbs and the like. Although she is nowhere near proficient enough with the herbs to be a healer, by any means.
Personality: Aldreda is kindhearted, gentle, and generally quiet and shy. She will open up some when she gets to know people, however being that she is also extremely guarded, she rarely gets to know anyone well. She is calm and likes to avoid confrontation, if she can; preferring to keep the company of plants as opposed to noisy and untrustworthy humans. She makes a few exceptions for any fellow Druid or other magic user she may encounter, but her guard still remains in place, if lightened a bit. While she isn't confrontational, she is naturally curious and uses her position as a royal servant to do some snooping about from time-to-time; she's not sure what, if anything, she plans to do with any knowledge she may procure, but she figures it never hurts to know as much as possible about any given situation. Other than that, Aldreda basically keeps to herself and tries to stay unnoticed within the confines of Camelot. She has high hopes for her city, what remains of her people, and this new king Arthur; although she still doesn't trust him yet, she senses that he is a good person, and hopefully more accepting than his father ever was.
History: Aldreda was born into, and raised by, a group of Druids in the forest just outside the city of Camelot; she had a mother, a father, an older brother, and was generally happy...until the time of Uther's great purge and the systematic hunting down and killing of her whole family, that is. Sensing that something like this was on the horizon before it ever happened, Aldreda's father sent the young girl to live with a sympathetic friend in the city. The friend was a menial servant to King Uther, and taught the young Aldreda the importance of hiding her abilities now that times had changed. Aldreda never saw her family again, although as a younger girl she would often venture out into the woods just to see if she could hear whispers as to what, exactly, had happened to them; she never did find out for sure. It was as if the few scattered Druids she met, and even the trees themselves, were afraid to talk about the atrocities that had been committed there. The old man she now lived with warned Aldreda to stay away from the forest and the other Druids; Uther's men were still seen scouring those parts for any last vestiges of magic, after all. Not wanting to upset the old man or to be found out, Aldreda lessened her trips out into the forest and became rather resigned to not knowing the exact details of her family's fate. She found solace in caring for the flowers in front of the old man's house. Indeed, her handy work was eventually noticed by a passing nobleman, who bought her skills to the attention of the king. Uther sent for the young girl and requested that she become a servant of the royal household and work on the castle grounds. Not really able to refuse the king, even if she wanted to, and obliging her natural sense of nosiness, Aldreda agreed and has been working as a royal gardener and groundskeeper ever since. She still lives with old man, who is now rather sickly, and cares for him when she is not working. She keeps her identity and lineage secret and bides her time being as unremarkable as possible...except when it comes to growing gorgeous flowers.

Username: KoyiTar
Name: Violet
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Profession: Rouge
Appearance: Violet is short for her age only being about five feet even. Her build is also rather on the lean side.
Skills: She is skilled mostly in picking locks and pick pocketing. She is also skilled at throwing knives and can use a bit of magic which she uses if she has a need to open multiple locks at one time. She also uses it to get away if she is somehow spotted and almost caught. She is also skilled with some close ranged combat nut not much she prefers to stay at a distance or avoid fighting at all costs if she can.
Personality: Violet has a bubbly personality for a very good reason she is a thief after all and likes to make her victims feel comfortable with her presence before robbing them blind. She is also a quite the quick talker and can be a bit of an exaggerator and all out liar as well. Of course there are times when her bubbliness rubs off and she can be rather cynical and hateful but she tries hard to hide that part of herself like she hides her magical abilities.
History: Violet has been on the streets since she was six. At first she had been upset at having been abandoned by her family when she showed them something she could do magically. It wasn’t her fault she knew it, it was just there; but none the less they left her behind in the middle of the night moving without her. She learned quickly the ways of the streets making friends with a few other urchins. Not showing them her magic though at least not till it started coming in handy for lock picking when an older thief showed her better tricks of the trade. She’s become somewhat more of thief for hire now though taking odd random jobs for people here and there even some such as murder. She likes her life aside from having to hide her magic. She would probably be a much different person if she didn’t have to but for now life is what it is and she makes the most of it in more ways than one.

Username: Kinslayer6788
Name: Robin Goodfellow
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Profession: Vagabond
Appearance: Robin is a man that is roughly of the five foot ten height variety. He is extremely wiry to the point of looking malnourished. His body looks slightly lifeless and under used, but his face is exactly opposite. His face is full of life from the very long dark chestnut hair to his bright emerald eyes. His face shows millennia of knowledge and his tongue is as silver as they come.
Robin is wearing a cloak of many patches. It was originally a base of brown but he thought that was too bland. He then kept weaving patches of every color he came upon whether it was in cloth or not. He feels he is nowhere near done yet. Under the cloak he wears basic adventuring gear- nothing that would draw anyone’s notice. He wears only one weapon and that is a dagger fashioned in the shape of a serpent. The hilt of the dagger has an engraving of the Fey Queen dancing with a donkey. If asked about it he shrugs and it’s usually never asked about again. He carries an extremely large staff that is almost twice the size of him.
Skills: Mr. Goodfellow is a man of many talents which may or may not include: He is a born public speaker, so much so that he has once talked himself out of being beheaded and managed to get an entire town razed in his stead. He has an uncanny knack for avoiding trouble and never being caught. He is amazing at causing mischief. Other than that is completely unremarkable.
Personality: Everyone who comes in contact with The Best of fellows remarks on a different personality. He has been seen to be in any numerous occasions all of the following: Witty, Rude, Shy, Blasphemous, Crude, Insane, Religious, Energetic, Childish, and Intelligent.
History: Hob hails from a different land where he was finally caught and banished from his beautiful home. He is trying to this day to figure out a way back to be accepted once again, or if that is not possible to cause as much mischief and mayhem as possible to his once held high land. He knows only one family in this fair land- The Learmounts- and he dares not seek them out (or maybe he does he is not quite sure). Currently Hob is wandering the land looking for tomfoolery and shenanigans, working on his cloak and telling the tales of the people who are not there, never there and will never be there. As for the current “conflict” he knows about it but ignores it as a passing fancy of some really silly people.

Story So Far

Allyn finally met up with Learmount, and decided to have her join him on the hunt to remove the hidden group of mages plotting against the throne(supposedly). Allyn has gone to see Lady Elaine at her estate. Learmount has notified her employer of her sudden change of residence.

Violet after being caught overhearing Allyn and Learmount talking about special abilities, she has decided she will spy for Allyn in the underground.

Tam has just met up with and agreed to travel with the mysterious vagabond Robin Goodfellow. Aldreda, a local girl had helped a dying young lad named Bryn from certain death when she overheard Tam and Goodfellow talking. When she got back, the Lad was gone. That next morning Aldreda ran back into Robin and was caught.

Allyn waited patiently outside the gate until he was escorted inside. Then, he waited patiently in the Lady's richly decorated estate. The servant offered him refreshment, but Allyn turned it down. Lady Elaine was not to be underestimated because of her gender. Allyn wouldn't put it past her to drug him. She'd done worse.

The Lady didn't keep Allyn waiting long. The old knight stood from his seat, and bowed quickly.

"Lady Elaine," he said, cutting her off before she could say anything, "I have need of your resources. Now, I know we have had our differences in the past, but I believe we may be able to come to an arrangement that would be...mutually beneficial."

Elaine split her face into a wide smile as she walked into the room to greet Sir Allyn, he was sitting as stiff as he always did, and stood up as she entered, courteous as ever. She opened her mouth to spout off some nonsense about seeing old friends and lovely surprises, but she was saved from having to lie through her teeth by Allyn's curt interruption.

She stood patiently as he made his offer, waiting until he was done to sit gracefully in her arm chair by one of the larger windows, buying herself time to weigh her options. She smiled up at him, gesturing for him to resume his position on the chair next to her.

"Allyn the Ratter" She paused, letting the name sink in "I haven't seen you around these parts in quite sometime, I heard you had settled quite comfortably in a dingy little estate somewhere in the country...whatever brought you back here?" She feigned a questioning look, her cold gray eyes penetrating his. "Ah but of course, the King must have you ratting out witches again. Aren't you Ratter? You are quite a well trained cat to come bounding over whenever the King needs you."

Elaine stood up, letting the last few comments hang in the air, she turned to face him, enjoying the sense of being taller than the knight. "You say you have need of my resources, that we can come to an arrangement, something mutually beneficial? And what, pray tell, would that be exactly? I hear whispers that you are already using the....resources...of a young witch, who is staying with you?" She raised her eyebrow mockingly "How can I compare to that of magic?"

Allyn grew less cheerful at the mention of his unofficial title. So, they would play this game? Allyn may not have the lady's resources or guile, but he was a much better reader of people than she was. He was also older, and had seen much more.

Allyn let Lady Elaine make her point, then smiled lightly. He was shorter than her, not by much, but that made no difference. If this was a contest of aesthetic appeal, Allyn would have lost ages ago.

"You're slipping my lady," he said, "I haven't been to my 'dingy little estate' for years. My family lives there, sure, but I have been making myself useful. I am no cat, my lady, for cats are untrainable. Gorgeous creatures, clever, damn near impossible to catch, looking out for themselves and their young, but untrainable. I am merely a humble terrier, who is very good at his job." Allyn sighed, and took a few steps away, looking out the window.

"The King is paranoid, as many people in power are. As I'm sure you know. What amongst us is more terrifying than magic? Once again, I'm heeding my master's call. He wants me to, as you so astutely guessed, find witches. You're notorious for knowing everything, even if you misunderstood the capabilities of the young woman currently staying with me." Allyn turned around to face Lady Elaine.

"It's an open secret you're obsessed with power," he said, "I have a feeling I'll be kicking over quite a few stones. You may be able to use those stones to ascend higher in the pecking order. I just want a few of those whispers that you're so famous for."

Elaine's smile faded slightly at Allyn's remarks, only to be replaced by a brighter, if more fixed, one as he continued about her slight power obsession. She turned to toy with a quill on her desk, running over the many courses of action.

"Well...Terrier, or Ratter, who am I to deny the King his peaceful sleep at night? And how will I get my sleep if I don't take care of his dog, yapping at my door? Very well Ratter I suppose I could throw you scraps as I finish with them." She reached to ring a small bell, that let out a light pealing, which brought a small boy bursting through the doors.

"This boy shall find you if ever you have need of me, or I of you, he comes in handy quite often" She gestured and the boy bowed, backing out of the room hurriedly.

"Now...if that is all?" She motioned to the door, "I shall show you out...unless of course, you would like to collect some scraps now?"

"I think I can find my own way out, Lady Elaine," Allyn said, "As pitiful as you think I am, my memory is not that bad." He turned, and walked to the door, pulling it open. He stopped, and turned back, giving Lady Elaine a few last words.

"I understand that you think yourself smarter than I, my lady," he said, "And I can easily see that you care for no one but yourself and your children. However, if an old man may offer a bit of wisdom...respect is not a poison, and it may save your life one day. Respect your enemies, be they another noblewoman, a witch, or even me. Remember that, even with all those brains up there, it would take very little effort for me to end your quest for power right here." With that, Allyn smiled amiably and walked out the door.

The knight rushed from the Corbenic estate, and felt relieved as soon as he was on his way home. He pushed his horse a little faster than normal, and breathed a sigh as he galloped through the gates of home.

"How was your trip sir?" Gerald asked. Allyn sighed gruffly.

"I hate visiting that woman," He grumbled.

"Then wh-"

"Because I may need her, that's why." Allyn snapped, "The cat may be entirely untrustworthy, but she's very good at finding mice. Now, is Learmount back yet?"

"Yes sir."

"Where?"

"The dining room, sir. Breakfast."

"Thank you Gerald," Allyn said, already heading for the room. "Whad would I do without you?" Allyn was gone before Gerald could reply. He made his way to the dining room, and pushed the doors open, settling into his kind smile.

"Ah, Learmount," he said pleasantly, "How are you this morning? Is the food adequate?"

Elaine stood straight and tall as Allyn turned to leave, but she started, ever so slightly, when he turned back and delivered his parting statement. His words seemed to shoot an arrow directly through her heart filled with fears. The door shut softly as Allyn left, but to Elaine it was as loud as a cannon.

She sank down into her chair, trying to keep her hands from shaking. She fought it with every inch of her will. She was Lady Elaine, and she would not let a simple knight dig so deep into her emotions as to upset her.

Memories swirled in her brain, the stench of illness, her brother Christen lying as if dead, and a stranger, a stranger who healed him. She remembered how tall the stranger seemed to her small eleven year old body, how imposing and...magical. Most of all she remembered the stranger's eyes, one amber and one gray, how strange, two different colored eyes, but even more strange was the feeling of complete nakedness as those eyes brushed over her.

The door slammed open, pulling Elaine abruptly from her memories, a small, wet body was suddenly in her lap, and another sitting by her feet. She looked down in surprise to see the beaming faces of Aurora and Edwin, both soaked to the bone. She burst out laughing, the bad thoughts turning to vapors.

"What have you two done? Gone for a swim in the fountain?"

"Yes Mother!" Aurora piped up

"It was just so hot! And the water looked so cool" Edwin added. The door slammed open again as the children's nurses came bursting through the door, soaked with sweat and water, looking quite bedraggled. This cause Elaine to start laughing again, and this time her children joined in while the nurses stood there sheepishly. Elaine kissed Aurora on the head, lifting the small girl off of her lap and shooing both of the children to their nurses waiting arms.

"Get them cleaned up, make sure they don't catch a cough now, or it will be on your heads" she sternly told the nurses. She watched as they exited the room, staring at the door for a few minutes after it had closed, then as if having made a sudden decision, she hurried over to her desk and sat down to write a urgent letter.

"It is. Thank you very much." She smiled. Cait Sidhe was also downstairs now, contentedly eating sausages off of the girl's plate as he stood on the table. She had tried repeatedly to tell him to get off, but he refused, as the dogs running around made him uncomfortable.

"It's hard for one of my stature to go as I please with all of these mangy beasts around." He had muttered to her earlier when he first leapt onto the table.

"Usually I am not up this early, but I had some business to take care of this morning."

Aldreda blinked down at the man who had grabbed her leg, honestly surprised to have been caught. She considered her options carefully before replying to the man's quandry. She could easily just run back to town and avoid the man all together, but that would hardly serve her curiosity very well. Besides, there were the issues of the young man and the strange happenings in the forest to address and these two strangers might have been ablle to help her answer some questions; though she honestly wondered whether they would prove very useful. Either way, she would never know unless she answered the man to begin with.

"I was not 'spying' on you or anyone else. As it happens, I was already in the forest last night when I stumbled upon you. I don't mean to intrude on anyone's privacy, but your presence in this forest struck me...I don't see many travlers around these parts...and I just wanted to find out more about you. I hope I have not offended you in any way."

Quietly, she bowed her head and waited for the man to reply before thrusting her questions upon him.

((Alright. Sorry I was rude and made you all wait...here's a reply and please forgive me. Sweat )

Robin looked up at the bowing girl and smiled. "I am in no way offeneded. It was only an a passing though of wonder. I am new to these parts and was just passing through. Would you have been the one of the voices I had heard last night, Little mage?

Robin looked then at his sleepin companion and nudged her with his foot. "We have a guest."

Aldreda felt a slight pang of unease at the man's choice of words when addressing her, but let it pass for the time being; the man didn't seem threatening in any way and his tone was amicable enough. Still she proceeded with evident caution when she spoke to him again.

"One of the voices you heard? I would not venture to guess what, exactly, you heard, but I like to think that I am harder to detect than most...and this forest is full of voices."

She smiled evasively and continued.

"However, I was traveling through, tending to a wounded companion, so perhaps-"

She trailed off, thinking. Now would be as good of a time to ask as any.

"You didn't by chance hear or see anything unusal...well, more unusal than I around these parts last night did you?" Confused She asked her question with no real conviction, but all the same, it didn't hurt to ask.

She looked down at the sleeping girl at the man's feet, wearily. She could feel an energy surrounding the girl, and wasn't entirely sure she liked it yet.

Tam cracked open an eye.

"I know," She grunted, "I've been awake for half an hour. I was just gonna let 'er go. How can you tell she's a mage, though? Y'know what, I don't care, I'm going back to sleep." Tam's eye closed, and she scooted further away from Robin and the new girl.

"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I don't rightfully care now. Its over and done with."

Hob looked at Tam muttering stuff about being awake already and he knew it was probably a lie. She might just be trying to sound like she was more confedent in her own abilities. He guessed she was still asleep.by the fact she was still snoring, just like now he guessed that she was just pretending.

"To answer your question, I did not notice anything I was kinda preoccupided. By the way my name is Robin, and this lazy ass is Tam. Whats your name?
