Allyn smiled kindly.

"I am not unfamiliar with that predicament," he said, "Uther was...relentless, to say the least. However, it was not that your employer was requesting you help me, it was an offer. An offer that I have the right to refuse. I suppose I should have asked you if you wanted me to refuse it. But you have already announced your consent. We are partners."

Allyn considered her question. The answer was, of course, yes. A ratter always has his suspicions. Suspicions were part of his trade.

"Suspicionis, nothing more," Allyn said, "And experience telling me that some suspicions are more likely than others. Secret circles are generally small, or at least the most secret are. However, a witch is a human at its core, and will want power. They will have infiltrated court, obviously. I probably have shaken more than one of their hands. They'll also have agents among the peasants, and those are the ones I will have to find first. They will be the most difficult to find, but hopefully with your help, we can make good time, and move on to their masters."

Difficult to find. She chuckled a bit. Magic was easy to see, and its energy shone brighter around those who had recently performed.

"Oh, finding witches will be easy. Finding the ones that we want, however, will be the challenge, as all magic looks the same through the Sight. In fact, I can see about three now that have the ability to use magic, and one that has done so recently."

She also saw many other things through her Sight, but there was no need to bring any of them up just yet. As far as she could tell, Sir Allyn had no clue who she was other than a woman with Second Sight working for a Lord of the Court. Nothing more, nothing less. And she intended to keep it that way for as long as possible.

"Three? Is that it?" Allyn chuckled, "Although, I suppose it is late, and not many people are about. It's not only witches we're looking for. I'm sure that there are many who are working for these witches that lack the affinity or the magical arts. But, I'm sure we'll find them. We just have to be discreet about it. I've found that power-hungry witches don't take kindly to being hunted." He chuckled again, but sobered quickly.

The last hunt he'd been on with a partner hadn't gone well. He'd lost his eye, and his partner lost his humanity. Allyn wouldn't put a woman in danger willingly, but witches were dangerous and devilishly clever, especially when cornered.

"Well, my lady," he said, "I thank you for offering to assist me in this matter. I hope to resolve it quickly, so that all of Camelot may rest easier. Lord knows I won't be able to sleep through the night well as long as I know there is something I can do to make the city safer. Now, I won't keep you any longer. I can offer you lodging at my house, if you'd rather stay there than the inn?"

"I have no doubt in our abilities, and know that we can finish this faster with our talents combined." She smiled.

Learmount thought about the man's offer for a moment. It would be better in an actual house with walls and doors that were not paper-thin and without some of the unsavory tenants that the Cut of Your Jib tended to hold. She knew that she would have to report to her employer about the change of residence, but that could wait until morning.

"I will accept your offer. I just need to go back and get my things." She started walking back to the inn.

Vi had snuck out of her room through the window. She had gotten bored laying there trying to sleep. She needed air something to do even if it was just running over rooftops not stealing anything. Which was what she was currently doing. It wasn't often she did these things anymore the thieves highway was not one for mere play she had learned that at a much younger age. It was for escape or spying. Which she had found a interesting conversation to spy on. One about witch hunting and someone that could see magic users. This didn't bode well for her at all in fact it didn't bode well for any magic user in town.

In her worry to get her things from the inn and pack up she didn't notice the shingle from the roof slip under her foot until it was far to late and she was tumbling off of it. "Shit" Was the only word she could mutter as she hit the ground near the two people she had just been spying on out of her shear stupid curiosity to find out random information. She laid there hoping beyond all hope they would just ignore her. Which she was sure they wouldn't/

Allyn started to escort Learmount back the the Cut of Your Jib, making small conversation on the way. He was polite, and courteous, and chivalrous. Allyn made sure not to pry, because he understood that many people had secrets.

His attention was stolen by the sound of someone falling from a great height nearby.

"Excuse me," he said to Learmount, and jogged over to the prone woman.

"Madam," he said, kneeling and offering his hand, "Are you hurt? Do you need any assistance? What were you doing on that roof?"

Learmount ran over to where Allyn was and looked down at the woman who just.... fell in, for lack of a better term. She also saw the familiar glow of magic floating around her. At the moment, she was speechless and wide-eyed.

Should she say something? Most likely, but she didn't want to shout out loud right there. She wasn't quite on duty yet, and she didn't want to cause panic at this very moment. So for now, she would stay quiet. Until this particular woman rose suspicions in her new partner, she would say nothing.

Vi had known better than to think they would ignore her. Though she knew better than to put her full trust in them either. Though her magic wasn't much and she had yet to be caught one could see that she was a user and the other from what she understood put them in jail or worse.

"I'm fine I think the only injury is to my pride." Said said sitting up checking to see if she had actually hurt more than just that in the fall. She also considered telling the truth for an instant. But in telling the truth it could only do her more harm than good.

"The reason I was on the roof well funny thing was I was chasing a cat. Of course I lost sight of it and had been turning to head the other way and I must have stepped on a lose shingle which is why I am now here instead of up there." She said accepting the hand to be helped up. It was a decent lie hopefully it was good enough to allow her to go on her way and get her things and hightail it out of town.

"Are you sure you aren't hurt?" Allyn asked. "That was quite a fall." He kept a firm grip on her arm as he helped the small woman up.

"A cat, you say," he repeated, smiling, "Strange, I didn't hear a cat up there. How would you even get up there, let alone why would you actually go out for a measley cat?" Allyn shifted his grip on the woman's arm, making sure she couldn't get away.

"Now then," he said quietly, looking into the woman's eyes, "Why don't you tell me what you were really doing up there? Please, do not lie. I'm very good at knowing when you are."

Aldreda had been trying to decide what to do with the injured man before her (who had passed out again since last speaking to her) when she had heard yet another sound nearby. Biting her lip, she looked down at Bryn, trying to weigh her options. She could stand here debating, or she could follow her natural instinct and see what all the noise up ahead was. In truth, she wasn't sure what the best course of action would be; she wasn't sure how much longer the camp would be here, but she couldn't very well lug the bigger man all the way back there by herself. For that matter, she couldn't lug him back to the city either. Then there was the matter of this new, possibly threatening, situation up ahead. As much as she hated doing so, Aldreda made the unconscious man as comfortable as possible, taking care to disguise his prone form under some shrubbery and headed stealthily for the sound of commotion up ahead.

Well-concealed behind some bushes, she listened and watched as the strange man and young girl in front of her conversed. She wondered if this was the girl whom Bryn had been speaking of; she had a feeling “the young girl with the bow” and the witch that now stood in front of her were one in the same. Even still, she dared not move from her hiding place just yet. Just because the girl in front of her had magic, and had apparently helped to save the wounded man, it was no indication that she could be trusted...and she didn't even have a clue who this man could be, though she sensed he wasn't particularly a danger right now. Perhaps she would watch them a few more minutes, she may have been able to trust them yet...and she could certainly use some help getting the injured man safely away from the forest, if that were the case. Maybe she couldn't trust them at all; either way, time would tell. With a quiet sigh, Aldreda settled comfortably into her watch post and waited.

Ah so finnally Hob had her name. Tam kinda rolled off the tounge. It was a good solid name for a charater in a story, but the next question would be wether it would be the hero's or the villian's.

"Do not worry yourself over silly things like who tried to kill who, and who caused whose death. It will get ever so trivial. Reguardless, I never said trust me quite yet. I am just saying to not mistrust me yet. We may be quite beneficial to one another."

Robin heard a small russling in the bushes nearby. It was a sound so faint that only one who is attuned with nature could have dectected it. Robin opened his sight once more and looked around.

"Ah! It seems we have another visitor! Come out child."

Violet realized her mistake far to late to dare correct it. The words from the man and the grip he had on her arm meant she was good and caught. It was her first time getting caught in a long time. Frankly she was rather scared because there was no using magic to get out of this situation. Nor did she have any of her knives or smoke pellets. She had left all those in her room at the inn. No reason to take unnecessary things on a simple run over the rooftops. She now regretted not having them at all.

"There's more than one way to get out of any situation sir. The rooftops can be just that for some. To tell the truth I was just running around up there for fun. I happened upon you and the ladies conversation and being the curious sort that I am decoded to listen in. No real reason other than curiosity.". She said after her internal debate at weaving another lie. She could tell all to well this one most likely fall for it unless it was a truly believable thing. She had no such tales to weave. So the truth had to be told.

It wasn't her first time eavesdropping on a conversation. She knew many a thing from just sitting on rooftops eavesdropping on conversations some more private than others. She had been able to use some information as blackmale in order to get a good sum of chash this conversation however well she only hoped wouldn't get her killed.

"Ah good," Allyn muttered, "The truth. I wonder what kind of person traverses rooftops for fun. For future reference, I might have actually believe you if you said you were hiding from someone. However, such matters aren't really my concern. If you were, say, burglaring the inn, I would let you be on your merry way, but I did need to know your purpose up there." Despite his words, Allyn did not loosen his grip on the woman's elbow.

"So, you say you overheard our conversation?" Allyn asked, "How much did you hear? A good amount of that information is something I'm sure my companion would like to remain a secret. Is there any reason for you to fear what it is you overheard? Is there anyone you would repeat it to?" Allyn kept his eyes locked on hers as he interrogated her. Did he suspect this woman was a witch, a member of the circle he was now hunting? Not really. Could she possibly have connections that would repeat his mission to more dangerous ears...that was a much more likely scenario.

"Also, tell me your name, and then you can go. No matter what you answer, you have my word you will leave unharmed."

"Saying I was stealing from the inn would be a worse lie than the one I tried to feed you about the cat sir." Violet said taken aback at such an accusation. She may be a thief and a rouge but she was honorable anout it. She never stole from a place she paid to sleep for the night. From the other patrons maybe but never the inn keepers it just was jot her way. She was a bit worried about telling what all she hsd heard though. The information she now knew would fetch her some good coin in the right ears.

"What I heard was enough to know the king is worried over something. I know she can see magic and you well you hunt magic users. I am not sure if I should have anything to fear from the information I gleaned or not. Also my name is Violet." She continued after a few moments of considering her words very carefully. She had magical talent though small and the lady who had remained silent thus far probably knew it. She considered herself lucky to have made it this far in the conversation.

"Well done Violet," Allyn said to her. "Remember this: if I hear that someone's got hold of the information I was discussing that you overheard, I will find you. Finding people is what I am best at, especially when they don't want to be found. Now go." He gave her a light shove, and turned back to Learmount.

"I apologize for that," Allyn said, bowing his head, "Already I'm on edge. This damn business is just so...Where were we? Oh, yes, back to the inn." He smiled jovially, and held the door open for Learmount.

"I shall wait outside for you," he said, and so he did.
