Fall has finally reached the Great Gated City, and the preparations for the Gignesthai Celebration are going well.
The tension seems to have lifted up and the general mood is good.
There's only one little problem...
Every year, people in the city carve pumpkins and make lanterns out of them, as well as various baked goodies.
The tradition is old and its origins have been lost, but it still is an important part of the celebrations.
However, there is currently a shortage of pumpkins in the Great Gated City, threatening to ruin part of the celebrations.
To prevent this from happening, Miu has decided to ask Midoreans their help, remembering the numerous times they had come to the rescue before.
Every pumpkin they can find should be brought back to her garden, where they will be kept until they are needed for the celebrations.
Pumpkins are hard to find in the Great Gated City, but rumors say that some can still be found in the outskirts or from some merchants.
So, are you ready to hunt pumpkins?
Who knows where it could lead you...

The role-play will end October 31st at 12PM EST (noon, not midnight). You can still post after that - if the forum is still opened - but posts made after that time will not be counted. The raffle and other prizes will be sent in the following week.

The Great Gated City: The Great Gated City is the heart of Midorea. The weather has cooled down, although it's still quite comfortable during daytime. The city is getting ready for the celebration, the streets are being decorated and the sweet smell of freshly baked goods is filling the air.

| Dare sat propped against a tree watching the many Midoreans walking up and down the streets. It was a mad chase to find more pumpkins. Dareth wasn't too concerned, they usually pulled things together last minute. Though this year did seem to be a bit more hectic than others.
He let out a small sigh and push a lock of black hair out of his eyes. His father was probably out there rushing around and looking for pumpkins as well. That was just the type of guy he was. And Dare should have probably been helping him but he was too busy enjoying the crisp air. He loved the autumn. Cold air was his friend, and all the leaves were pretty colors. He didn't even where a jacket, just a white button up shirt with black slacks.
He looked up when he saw his father rushing towards him out of the corner of his eye.
"Please help," his father used those pleading eyes that always got him. Sometimes Dare felt like their roles were reversed and he was the father while his father was the son.
"Of course," he replied and stood up from where he sat. He would have asked what excatly he needed to do to help but his father was already rushing away to god knew where.
"Great," he said rather emotionessly. "Now where?" he walked into the crowded street and looked around easily since he was so tall and could see over most heads. He rubbed his head wondering where he should head to.

| The last notes of a eerie tune resonated in the air as the merchant stopped in the middle of a small square, his automated cart behind him. The strange man took a quick look around. He could feel the excitation in the air, and the decorations beside the nearby buildings clearly indicated that something important was happening.
With a little shrug, he walked to the side of his cart and opened the shutters, revealing some of his inventory, a nice array of items. He then pulled a small handle, expanding a temporary roof made of colorful fabric to create a shelter. A small lighten lanterns and a merchant sign completed the picture. When all the preparations were done, Noctalème sat on the front of his cart, a small book in his hand, keeping his attention up for any customer - or any interesting rumor.

| Dani smiled at the woman behind the counter as she handed her a cinnamon bun. "Thanks," she said, handing her the money for it.
She looked longingly at the display case; because of the shortage of pumpkins, her usual favorites weren't there. Pumpkin spice muffins, vanilla pumpkin shortbread cookies, and pumpkin pie were obviously missing from the array of baked goods, their bright orange colouring missed among the typical browns and tans.
She sighed, taking a bite out ofher bun as she stepped back into the streets of Midorea. It was strange, looking about and not seeing the pumpkins in front of everyone's doorstep. Granted, this was only the second autumn Dani had experienced. But she still missed the bright and festive spots of colour dotting the city and countryside.
Dani was normally someone who would help out in situations like this, but she had no idea where to even look for pumpkins. Maybe she could ask someone. She took another thoughtful bite as she looked around the square.

| Rhee frowned the lack of pumpkins meant the lack of her Favorite fall treats. She moved slowly between the people and carts looking at the goods for sale. Pumpkins were in need.
She paused in front of a cart, had the summer been to rainy? or dry? She shrugged she had not been down during the summer.

| Noctalème dropped his book on his seat, sighing at the situation. Normally, he would have already made a few sales by now, or at least attracted some customers. But nothing had happened. The only people who had taken some interest in his goods left quickly after he denied having pumpkins to sell. And the majority didn't even come nearby, simply passing on the square and heading to a more appealing destination.
Pouting, he grabbed his book and got up, walking slowly beside his cart and leaving the object in a small empty space inside the his vehicle. From what he had heard, people were either happy because of some celebrations, or nervous because of the shortage of pumpkins. The latter doesn't seem like a huge concern for the majority, but he could feel it was starting to become a real problem, and the atmosphere started to suffer.
Leaning on the side of the cart, he pondered on the opportunity. Selling fruits wasn't his forte, in fact, he'd really never cared that much about those products, unless they were... special. And apparently it wasn't the case with the missing pumpkins. They were simply the heart of some traditions or something like that. Nevertheless, it was an occasion to gain some money, and some attention, which could always be useful later on.
With those thoughts in mind, he started to close his stand, first folding the roof, than closing the shutters and making sure everything was locked. An eerie tune started to resonate from the heart of the vehicle once again, catching the attention of a few walkers, but it quickly calmed down. With a small shrug, the merchant turned around and started to walk down the now quite busy place in search of some more information about the pumpkins.

| The first thought that came to mind was to go to the square, maybe he would find someone there who knew more about where to find pumpkins than he did. He walked down the crowded street dodging children laughing and running past him. Until, Finally, he made his way to his destination.
He looked around searching for someone who may know about pumpkins, but the first person he laid eyes on was a girl who looked around his age and had long brown hair. He looked at her for a moment. She didn't seem like she knew about pumpkins, but she did look somewhat lost. He didn't like getting invovled with someone else's business, but atleast he would have something to tell his father when he came home empty-pumpkin handed.
He walked slowly towards the girl, giving himself the chance to look around and see if anyone knew anything about the pumpkins, and also give himself the chance to change his mind and walk away. Looked like he was going through with it.
"Hello, you seem lost, did you need any help?" he asked her, the question awkward, but the tone smooth.

| Dani smiled at the young man in front of her and shook her head. "Oh, no, I'm not lost. I was just thinking about the whole pumpkin thing." She took another bite of her cinnamon bun and chewed quickly before saying, "I'm pretty new here, this is only my second autumn here. I want to help, but I'm not quite sure where to even look for any pumpkins."
Her eyes wandered up the street in a slightly distracted fashion, following the crowds of people for a moment. Then her eyes snapped back to the guy. "Hey!" she exclaimed excitedly. "Maybe we could look together. Huh?" Her smile was bright and child-like.
Since she woke up from having her memory wiped, she'd been very different. She didn't know the extent of her difference, but she felt it in a way that even having amnesia couldn't hide. Sort of a sense of de ja vu. She got the sense that before her accident, as her friend Tara called it, she was a serious person, someone who wouldn't mess around a whole lot and who was always focused.
But now she got frequent short term memory loss, was easily distracted and a lot of the time, some things seemed a bit like a game to her. A part of her, probably the former Danielle, didn't like it, but the new Danielle didn't mind.

| So that was why she seemed lost. She was looking for pumpkins just like him, yet neither of them knew were to look. He was slightly taken aback by her outwardness and enthusiasm but he pushed it away. He needed to find pumpkins, and since this girl was also trying to find them he would play along. It might make it more enjoyable.
He wasn't sure though, he was a do things yourself sort of person. He didn't work well with others, only because others didn't seem to work well with him. That was another reason he was taken aback by her enthusiasm, he didn't usually get that from people. Sure he was the guy who takes control, but usually thats because people just sit back for the ride.. this was.. different.
"Sure, we can look together, what's your name?" he asked with a warm smile, that was uncharacteristically awkward. He was the always chill guy, awkward wasn't a part of him, it just never happened. Weird.

| "I'm Dani!" She stuck her hand out to shake his, like Tara had taught her. She gave him a big smile. He seemed sort of nervous in way, but then again, a lot of people seemed that way around her.
People that didn't know her well sometimes assumed she had some form of autism or Aspberger's syndrome because of her frequent childish ways so they avoided her at times or were overly nice to her. She hoped, for once, that someone wouldn't see her that way. Maybe for once she could be normal.
