[OoC] Steampunk Game!

And a role-play thread was created!

Kidding, but the role-play associated with this OOC thread can be found here. It hasn't started yet, as I'm waiting for a certain number of people to join before we get things going, but feel free to take a look at it and, of course, join!

This thread will now be used to discuss the plot and anything else related to the game, as well as to keep the profiles.

GM's notes:
This is just a little spot to keep some important game-related information. Anything said here count as rules for the game and should be followed.

1° About time

• I am the only one to set the date, and/or move to game for a significant amount of time (days).
  
• You can push the time with every post you do, so that your character's actions look realistic, but not by more than 1 hour at the time.
  
• Other players need to have some time to post before you move the time again.
  
• One person per day can move the time from 6 hours at max. That doesn't include me and people I have allowed to make a time move.
  
• You will follow the time of day currently being played.
  
• Others have the right to ignore a post made too far away in the future, or in the past (which would be considered as a flashback).
  
• Messing too much with the time can get you into troubles!

oh yes yes ^^ mhhmmm. ive loved airships ever since ff7, tho in terms of steampunk i think the airships in final fantasy 9 used steam... i'll have to dig out that ol' gem and find out XD

in fact... im gonna go hunt down a cut scene on youtube right now...

Good good ^^
Simple airships are simply hot air balloons with a motor attach to guide them where you want to go, instead of just following the wind currents. So it can easily be done.

This is what I think when I think "Steampunk". Maybe this will be inspiring.

I've got some comics at the library. Nothing steampunk as far as I can't tell (didn't look too much at them yet), but maybe they can be of some help. Those kinda of books usually make my imagination go crazy... well, more crazy

So, what should the plot turn around? Any idea?

Ah another type of airship we could go with it the world of Warcraft version its sortave just a balloon attached to a large ship looking thing with a way to stear it. I think theres more to it but I haven;t played WoW in about a year now so I can't remember.

So, new role-play has started, now I can work on this one ^^

What should the plot be about?
I was thinking of having many gangs/ factions/ clans/ call it whatever you want, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and they end up fighting over something. Then, for some reason, they must ally together to fight a bigger enemy, or something like that.
For practical reason (playing big groups with only a few players can become messy), we could reduce it to one or two people per group, that would act as the messenger/ scout/ treasure hunter/ whatever for their respective team. They go on a hunt for something, all for the same thing, and thus end up meeting each other and fighting to see who gets to keep the thing.
And then they team up for some reason...
