LadyHarpy and Maeve

So, let's say we both saw an ad somewhere asking for people to retrieve something for a wealthy and eccentric billionaire. The guy asked us to come and meet with him early in the morning, so we are both heading for his home and will meet there, and then go on our adventure.

I was thinking about a modern fantasy world, so we can still have some latitude with our character... So yeah, I'll add my character ASAP, and you can just post your own when you're ready, and then we will be able to start.

Duh, I suck at making intro...

Description: Melody looks like a 18 years old human girl, with the ears and tail of a cat. She has long wavy blond hair going down to the middle of her back, though she almost always wears them tied into a ponytail or braid, and vibrant green eyes. She has a petite stature and measures just a little more than 5 feet. She is extremely agile, but not very strong. She usually wears clothes that allow her to move, cotton shirts and stretch pants, with some leather belts and leather boots.
Melody prefers to be alone and work alone. She can seem selfish at time, though once she has learned to know someone, she can be quite friendly and protective of them. She is usually more reserved and don't talk much, except if she thinks she can get some useful information from the conversation. She can also be a little manipulative at time...

Description: Sam is your average human witch. She is about 5'4" and has a stout sort of build. She covers up her body and layers of dark blue and green robes. She wears leather pants underneath that and a typical witch hat on her head. Her black hair is put up in a bud on top of her head and her brown eyes and amplified my thick reading glasses. She carries a large wooden staff with a purple crystal at the top, it's her wand. She isn't very fast but if she tries she can be. She's more of a range fight than close combat but does have some hand to hand combat skills.
Sam doesn't really mind people but she finds those that think she is weak to be irritating. She'll make you her friend very quickly if you seem strong and dependable and open-minded. She's a slight push over unless she is angry, she then is a brick wall that you will never break down. She also specializes in healing rather than fighting spells since she sees it as the more useful thing.

Melody was walking through the streets of the small town in the early morning. Noticing a wooden board with various ads on it, she stopped to look if there was anything interesting. One of the ads, asking for help to retrieve something, caught her attention. She took one of the smaller sheets with the address of the requester on it and headed off to meet with that person.

Sam walked to the ad board in town and scanned the papers for something interesting. She saw a paper that needed help getting an item and quickly snatched a smaller piece of the paper with an address on it. She then headed off in the direction of the address.

After a couple minute of walked, Melody reached the correct address. It was a small two stories house, made from brick and wood, like there were so many around. She walked up to the door and knocked.

Sam arrived at the house a little later and noticed the cat girl at the door. Sam stood back out of view and watched to see what she was doing here.

After a little while, Melody heard steps behind the door. "Who's there?" a shaky voice said. "My name's Melody," the cat girl answer. "I come for the ad." She heard a couple of clicks and the door opened. An old man was standing in the entrance, looking at the girl, apparently trying to decide if she was really able to accomplish the task at hand.

"Hmm, yes... But you see, I was thinking about giving this mission to a small group of people. I could prove dangerous if you're alone," the old man finally said.

Sam listened to the conversation and quickly stepped out into view.

"I have also come for the ad."

Melody startled a little as the other girl appeared, but before she could do anything, the old man started to speak again. "Hmm, maybe... Well, I guess I can explain you everything and you can always get more people after. Please come in," he said, pointing to a small living room on the side of the entrance hall.

Melody entered the house and followed the direction the man was pointing at. She sat on a large couch and waited for the two others to join her, still a little upset by the arrival of a new person. More people on the job meant less reward for her, and it wasn't a pleasant thought to her.

Sam followed the cat girl and took a seat on the couch. She took her hat off and waited for the old man to join them.

The old man waited for the girl to come in, closing the door behind them before joining them in the living room. He sat in an armchair and started to speak: "So, as you know, I need someone to get a little job done for me. My name is Lazarus C. Glauss. I've been a successful merchant all my life, and I'm still working in the business sometime, though not as much as before because of my health. I specialize in selling rare antics, and I also have my own collection..."

Lazarus took a pause, looking at the two girls and studying them before he spoke again. "I've recently get information about some really old books lost somewhere in the ruins in the nearby forest. Those books have a great value, and I would greatly appreciate if someone could bring at least one of them back to me." He paused again and looked at the girls, ready to answer any question.

"Could you tell us what they look like possibly?" Sam asked as she took interest in his request. She herself was a big book lover.

[Maeve]

"Yes, yes, of course..." the old man said as he got up from the armchair and walked to a nearby bookshelf. He looked at the book, before taking an especially large one and bringing him back on the small table placed in the middle of the room, right in front of the girls. "This is one of the said book. I acquired it a long time ago, and for years I believe it was the only one of his kind, but a recent research had lead me to believe otherwise."

Melody looked at the book, carefully marking its image in her brain. It was old, but still in a good shape. She could see some letters on it, but none she could understand. She was starting to be quite intrigued by this whole story. "And..." she started to ask, "what would be our reward if we were to succeed?" She didn't want to seem rude, but it was an important question after all.

Lazarus looked at the girl before answering simply: "Oh, don't worry about that. You will be rewarded according to the number of book you bring me, but I can assure you the reward will surpass whatever you could imagine."

Sam was rather interested now after looking at the book, She quickly embedded what it looked like into her head.

"Can you give us an idea of what we could be facing? Just so we can be prepared for a fight if need be." Sam asked as she looked back to the book.

[Maeve]

"Well, the ruins are in the forest, so there might be some animals, bears, wolves and such. And there are rumors about strange monsters living in the ruins themselves, ghosts, zombies and things like that. But of course, those are only rumors," the man said with a large smile, like if there was nothing to worry about.

Melody took a little time to think before asking: "Do you have any map of the location of the book? Even if it's just an approximation..."

"Yes, yes... So, you two are ready to do that for me?" he asked as he pushed some papers on the table in search of the map.
