New~ hello came over from TegakiE, might not be a long time member unfortunately

I can't say I'm not a fan of the layout of this site, the artwork, typography, just about everything. This is my personal opinion of course.
I think at least the artwork needs to be relatively the same or at least generally consistent...
The avatars are huge and you have to do a lot of scrolling to see the next post which is kind of annoying.

anyway I really don't feel like ranting, I know this place must be new but I felt the need to speak my mind.

I'm not the creator and have no say on anything really. But i'd like to point out that all the things you don't like about the site are what i do. I love the huge avas, a-typical layout and dislexic art. (the last comes from the fact that the art is from many differant people)

I feel the need to point out that if you hate everything you don't have to be here. But in anycase i hope you find something you do enjoy and hang around for the event next week. : )

I don't mean to disrespect what you do, but I really feel that some of those things don't make the site work out all too well. The huge avatars I will let slide, but the boxes/ comment area is also very huge making a lot to scroll through.
Also over time I suspect that this site will go through a lot of changes as it grows, the 'a-typical' layout will probably be the first to go. I know you may like it, but generally most people will be perturbed by it and avoid it all together.

Again not trying to start anything here, I just feel overall there could be better choices. You can take what I say and flush it down a toilet for all I care.
I also never said I 'hated' anything, but if it so happens I dislike my stay I will leave. So far Midorea is for the most part is 'ok'

The ava size is a personal preferance thing and makes us "differant" then other sites. I actually enjoy it alot, alot alot alot, even if it makes alot of work for cat and i. xD <3

I have nothing to do with any of that stuff so i will withhold judgement. However, the space it takes up isn't that much more then gaia. *is posting there aswell) and gaia's avi's are 1/3rd the size. So allthough i see where your coming from i'm not sure it's as bad as you make out. I know the frames on mido expect you to have a sig and post of reasonable size. So that if you have really short posts and no sig it just looks empty. So i can see where your coming from. :3

I conceed, that i did take your comment more strongly then it may have been intended, but the crux of the matter was that you didn't like it. Hate or otherwise.

Your overall assessment is a verry personal thing, but the fact you've rated it a neutral "ok" dispite all the things you disslike is actually encouraging and positive in my mind. But yeah, there is virtually not users on this time of night, so you may find your experiance lessened from the simple perspective of lack of conversational partners.

I agree, the avatars definitely set this site apart from Gaia and Menewsha and the like. First run-through it was a bit striking so it took me off guard a bit, I jumped the gun a bit there I admit.

My assessment is nothing more then a critique, and of course of my own personal feelings. I still have a lot more of this site to go through so I'm suspecting my 'ok' rating will change when I have fully explored and understood the general idea of everything.
I'm glad some of the things I have save have been more encouraging and positive in your mind, and if I offended you somehow I apologize in advance. I know sites like these take a lot of planning and work involved.

In any case, I will be sure to see how this site changes over time I'm sure it will all change for the better.

Not necessarily better. I can name one thing that's negative (in my oppinion) that springs to mind immediatly and is inevitable. The hords of ignorant, offensive (purposfully or otherwise) and excessivly illiterate (i don't mean chat speak, i mean completely incomprehensible) people who inhabit any kind of website of a reasonable size. ;D

Nah, no offense taken. I just have differant views. : ) Any defencivness on my part is not intended. But i do have that immediate instinct whenever anyone insults mido, because as staff (even lazy staff. ;D) i feel somewhat resposable (even if that isn't the case).

Planning and work? *points* That's Cat (catghost), she's the genious behind 99% of the site. She's only recently started letting other people dip their fingers into the honey and take resposability for sections of the site. (other then chu and hiro who were our original mods) As for all her brillance she is only one person and doesn't have all the time she'd wish to have to spend on mido. : )

The ava size is startling at first. But it's what drew me here and i'm sure i'm not the only one.

That's true... that's the main reason I cannot even touch Gaia online anymore. There are just so many people and so much spam. It draws me away, I don't even know half of the things you can do on that site anymore xDD
way to many immature 10-year-olds with too much time on their hands, haha
If you ever been to conventions, it's like that in some ways. I tend to like the small-medium sized cons because they are much more personal and you are surrounded by your friends. Bigger cons, more people, more confusion.

anyways, I'm sure Cat has a normal life just as much as we do, it's understandable not to be able to plan and fix such a project when need be. Even an RP group on TegakiE can be a lot of work when you just don't have all the time you need.

I found the site through Tegaki E as well but I actually love the avatars here. The only thing that bugs me is that green is such a prevalent color in the avatar items that I wish that the general forum color was something different. :/
