MAD was updated today so I went on an avatar-making spree. Here are three of them:

What have you made with the new MAD? How do you feel about the change?

Hey there I too use IE, so what seems to be the problem?

I hit Hair, Top, and Bottom layer groups fine, and under them are the real layers. The top buttons are just the group you see, not layers themselves.

So if you hit Hair, then under it you hit the layer name, and it should load. Which may take a moment depending on how many images there are in that layer.

For reporting purposes, which IE version and OS are you using?

PS- If there are any compability issues, there is a link to the old version of MAD above the layer stuff, can't miss it Wink

So, when I'm looking at this... *handy-dandy snipping tool*

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/Saygen40/MADimage_zps6524a9fa.jpg

All the the purple options -eyes, ears, base - work fine and change the options I can pick.

When I try to hit the grey buttons - hair, acessories, body - the screen below doesn't change to give me options to pick from and the row of purple words stays exactly the same.

I use Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Vista.

I sense an "oh duh" moment coming for me. XD

Well I changed something, so we'll see if it helps, try CTRL+F5 when refreshing the page.

If it doesn't work still, let me know.

Also no big 'oh duh' moments. You are clicking the groups, and the layers in that group aren't coming up, and it's a real problem.

If it still doesn't work. I'll see what I can do for you.

I tried hitting CTL + F5 a couple times, but still couldn't get the options to come up.

However, now when I click on the grey boxes they turn dark grey. Didn't do that before.

Updated!

To all those who read this, the MAD group layering is now compatible with Chrome, Firefox, and any IE browser version 9 or above!

If you are using IE8 or below, I recommend Chrome Frame, or upgrading to IE9 at least.

If you cannot or will not do either of those things, then there is a link to switch to the older version without the troublesome layer grouping!

I will in the future look to update it so that grouping can be toggled, and the MAD interface to make it more pleasing.

Also, here is my creation! Weeeee

Ooh, MAD update! Current thoughts:

-It looks better organized, this system won't feel so confusing to new users if it's implemented in the normal avatar page.

-It will probably take a while to get accustomed to this change.

-Perhaps a better order for the tabs would be body, then hair, then the top and bottom tabs (as they're like, the main clothes), then the head, arms and feet tabs, then the accessories, then around. I dunno, that order makes more sense to me. :U

-Wouldn't it be better for the Right Hand layer to be in the Arms tab and not the Around tab? I got confused for a moment because I couldn't find it.

-There seems to be a large-ish unnecessary space underneath everything.

-Another thing that would be useful to implement sometime in the future would be more info on the item: if it's part of a set then the name of the set; whether it's an ARI, EI BMI or common; if it is a common, what shop it came from and its price; if it's a rare, when it was released; etc. The extra info would be a huge help to newer members, who often get confused with things like what items belong to what sets, which shop an item is available in, and things like that.

-One thing I just noticed is that it seems that nowhere on the page does it state what the acronym M.A.D. stands for (and the button on the normal avatar page just says dream avatar), which will most likely confuse new users.

Overall, I like the change. Weeeee Woo, made something:
