| Griffyn ran his fingers through his raven black hair while he stared up at his ceiling. He was listening to his Ipod while laying on his bed. Evanescence blared in his ears. He let his eyes droop shut as he began to think about some more recent things.
He knew that there would be a new girl coming to the school today, and he wouldn't see her until Dinner. he had been told to make sure nobody would give up the secret which Revain Academy held. They were a school full of vampires. This meant that nobody was allowed to tell Alexandria that they were vampires. And most certainly nobody was allowed to bite her.
It seemed like it was going to be troublesome. Why would the Dean bring another human into the school after Phyre? Though he loved Phyre in a childhood friend like way, he didn't approve of even her attending this school. Let alone some random girl who didn't even know vampires existed. Lucky, naive girl.
Griffyn opened his eyes and glanced at his clock. It was 6:45. He better get ready for dinner. He rolled over and sat up on the edge of his bed. He yawned and streched out, then stood up and walked over to his drawer. He was still wearing his soccer uniform from an practice earlier that day.
He pulled out his uniform and pulled it on then threw his dirty clothes down the laundry shoot making sure they had his name on the tag. He walked over to his mirror and ran a brush through his hair. It was starting to get curly again from the last time he straightened it.
After running the brush through his hair he left his dorm room and started to walk to the Dinner Hall.

| Blaize Septix saw Phyre, the Dean's daughter, coming out of the Dean's Dorm. "Hey, Phyre!" He jogged up to her and grinned his cocky smile at her. "Wanna walk with me to dinner?"
Blaize had always had a crush on the fiery-headed--and tempered--daughter of the Dean. Granted, everyone in school seemed to, considering that she was the only girl in the school.
That is, until today. A new girl had come to join the school today...a human girl. "So is it true? Is the girl here? Have you seen her?" he asked Phyre. "Is she pretty? I bet she is." He knew that there was no chance she was prettier than Phyre, but he liked to tease her.
As they reached the dining room, he saw the guy from his science class, Griffyn Lotus, walking towards the doors, trying to flatten his curling hair. "Hey, Grif! Wanna sit with us today?" The guy was pretty serious, but sometimes Blaize could coax a laugh out of him. Being a pure7, he seemed to not like being very social, as most people regarded him as some sort of...god. Yeah, pure7's were rare. That didn't mean the other vampires had to fawn all over him.
Blaize tended to treat him as just another SU- type of vampire. He smiled at Griffyn and ran his hand through his silky slightly wavy golden hair.

| Phyre smiled and almost blushed almost. As Blaize ran up to her. He seemed like one of the only guys that made her feel human. hah! she thought. It was kind of ironic seeing as she was the only Human at this school besides the Dean and now the new girl Alex.
As she walked with Blaize to dinner she stopped for a second and gaped at him. "No! She is not pretty!" she said with malice. "And, yes I have seen her. She is just some poor girl, who is mooching off my father to go to this school." she told him with a smirk. She knew he was only teasing her. She could tell by the way he said it, but she couldn't help but get defensive. Actually, that was how it usually was with Blaize.
Phyre looked over at Grif as Blaize said his name. "Yeah, why not." said with an aloofness.
Griffyn looked up as he heard Blaize's voice. Blaize and Phyre looked like they were heading to the Dinner Hall together, and Grif didn't see why he couldn't join them.
"Sure," he said and joined them. As they got to the doors of the Hall Grif opened and held them for Phyre and Blaize to walk in. After they walked in he walked in behind them, letting the door shut.
The Hall was big and filled with tables that had white cloths on them. Each table also had a fat dark blue candle sitting in the middle of it. The food was set up bouffet style with caterers. So you walked up and told them what you wanted and they made up the plate for you. Behind and beneath the counter though were 4 different coolers each was a different color. Each color indicated a different blood type.
The dean had set the caferteria up this way so that the new girl couldn't accidentally grab herself a glass of blood. He had a whole assembly and told them which color meant which blood type. Before, the coolers had been sitting out for you to get for yourself, and clearly labled.

| Alexandria wandered through the halls until she saw the other students flocking towards two big dark oak doors, no doubt leading into the Dining Hall. She followed with the crowd that seemed to suddenly thin as she got inside. She stood there, stunned for a moment, taking in the beautiful surroundings. She didn't notice all the eyes turning to look at her, nor did she notice the hungry looks on the faces of those closest to her.
She decided to look for Phyre, which shouldn't be too hard, seeing as she was probably the only redhead at this academy.
Turns out there were about four of them, including Phyre, but she was easy to spot. The tall fiery-haired girl stood out in any crowd, despite the uniforms.
"Phyre! Hey," she said. "May I sit with you?" she asked politely, looking at the golden boy sitting next to Phyre and the black-haired one sitting across from him.
Blaize was staring eagerly at the entrance to the Dining Hall, waiting to see the new girl. Phyre was talking to Griffyn about something, but he wasn't paying much attention.
And suddenly...there she was. "Oh, my god," he breathed. Phyre had seriously lied. The girl was gorgeous, in a very innocent and soft way, unlike Phyre's fierce and forward beauty. He still found Phyre to be far more attractive, but this girl was very, very pretty.
Blaize saw that she looked worried and anxious. Granted, who wouldn't be? She scanned the crowd and her eyes seemed to linger on the redheads at the tables until she came to Phyre. Her gaze relaxed and she hurried over to their table.
Her scent shot straight up Blaize's nose, to explode like a heated balloon in his brain. Holy shit, this girl had some seriously potent O- in her veins.
As she asked to sit, he looked to gauge Phyre's reaction. Judging from the way she had acted before, he expected her to say no. He was very surprised by her answer.

| Griffyn's eyes opened wide as he caught a scent that he very very rarely ever caught. O-, the most tempting scent any vampire could ever take a wiff of. He turned his eyes to the source who was standing at the enterance of the Dining Hall.
It was the new girl. Alex. She was one of the most beautiful women he had ever layed eyes on. He short black hair framed her innocent face in such a perfect way. She seemed so pure looking.
He noticed that all the men in the room were staring her down, but she didn't seem to notice. (CAUSE SHE'S STYU-PID) Instead she seemed to be searching the room for someone. Her gaze stopped on his table and she walked over and asked Phyre if she could sit down.
Grif shifted his Gaze to Phyre's. He could tell, after knowing her for so long, that she was up to no good. But, what? He wasn't sure, but he knew it. He didn't even have to use his empath abilities to know she was up to no good.
"Of course you can," she said and gestured to the seat next to Griffyn
Griffyn's blood pressure went through the roof. With Alex sitting so close to him he felt uncomfortable. He really just wanted to leaned over and sink his fangs into her neck, but he couldn't do that.
Grif stood up, "I'm going to go get some food." he said in a soft tone. He needed to get away from that girl. It was unbelievable that not only did he blood lust for her he also.. lusted for her. It was confusing. He never felt feelings like that for another woman. Then again, he didn't see very many women at this all men boarding school.

| Alex smiled kindly at the boys and sat down across from Phyre, next to the very handsome, but quiet black-haired boy. Almost as soon as she had sat down, however, he seemed to shoot out of his chair, his nostrils flaring. She blushed. Apparently he didn't like her very much. He practically ran from the table.
"Did...did I do something wrong?" Alexandria asked worriedly.
Blaize looked across the table at her and smiled warmly. "Not at all. That was Grif. Griffyn Lotus. He's a real serious kind of guy, not too social. Don't be of-..." he stammered as her scent reached him, "...offended." Every time someone walked past them it blew her scent straight at him. Damn. He was going to have to get a whoppingly big cup of B- just to contain himself around her.
"I'm Blaize," he said, reaching across the table to shake her hand. "You already seem to know Phyre. What's your name?"
Alex looked puzzled as the blonde paused in his sentence, seeming to inhale for a moment before continuing. She shook his hand, half expecting a joy-buzzer or something, but found his hand to simply be very warm and rather comforting.
"I'm Alexandria. So is the food good here?" she asked.
"Oh, it's fantastic! Want to come get some?" Blaize was very eager to get his food, because it meant getting his blood too.
"Yeah, sure. You coming, Phyre?" Not particularly caring if Phyre came or not, Alex stood up and followed Blaize to the buffet, thinking the whole time.
Man, these people have some strange names. Phyre, Griffyn, Blaize...how do they even spell their names? she wondered.
Alex gaped at the trays of food along the long white marble counter. About five different pastas, two dishes of potatoes, several different meats, more vegetables than Alex could count and...holy mother of god, the desserts at the end of the table. Cupcakes, pudding, tarts, cake, ice cream, pies, cookies, various different fruits, and...Alex licked her lips...a mixture of whipped cream and raspberries and blackberries, her favorite.
Alex selected some baked macaroni and cheese, pork roast, and creamed onions and corn. She also grabbed a small container of creme brulee and a bowl of the berry mixture.
Blaize hurriedly took a heaping plate of linguine in white wine sauce and clams, with a side of garlic bread (psh, who said garlic killed vampires?) and a slice of lemon meringue pie and a cup of mint ice cream (obviously, to get rid of that disgusting garlic breath.)
What he really wanted was in the coolers beneath the counter. "Large blue, please," he said to the man standing there. Blue was B-, his favorite.
Alex frowned, puzzled. "Blue?"
"It's the kind of drink you want. They're all the same, really, but you just choose a color. Oh, and a size."
"Oh, okay. Well, um. Medium blue please?" she asked shyly. The man handed her a cup full of what looked like a very dark red fruit punch. She took a sip. It was amazing, bursting with fruity flavor and a slight hint of something spicy-sweet, almost like cinnamon. It reminded her of cherry pie.
She carried her tray of food back over to the table and sat down next to Griffyn again.

| After Griffyn finished filling his plate up with baked Mac and Cheese he walked back to the table and sat down. He also had gotten a red drink which was A-.
"What are you going to do?" Griffyn asked Phyre out of the blue. Since he had a few minutes to talk to her before the other two came back.
"Huh, what are you talking about?" Phyre asked in a sarcastic innocent voice.
"You, know what I am talking about, don't play with me Phyre."
"I don't know what you are talking about Griffyn, hun."
Griffyn pressed his lips thin, "Just don't be mean." he said giving up.
The others came and sat back down before Griffyn could question Phyre any further. And along with them came the irresistable smell of O-. How badly he wanted just a sip, if even. He took a sip of his drink and looked away from the others as they sat down.
"So how are you liking things here so far?" Phyre asked Alex. "Are you impressed by all the food?" she asked, surveing Alex's expression.

| As Alex sat down, Griffyn seemed to straighten up beside her, almost uncomfortably. She hoped that Blaize was right, that it was just because he was unsocial.
Alex had already taken a bite of the macaroni and cheese before Phyre had asked anything. "It's fantastic. And this place is so beautiful. Your father is really lucky to have such a great building for this school." She smiled at the others and took a couple quick bites of her pork roast. "Mm," she said, remembering, but unable to talk with her mouth full.
She held up the dish of creme brulee. "Can anyone tell me what this is? I've seen it before, but it looked really good and I decided to get it."
Blaize laughed a little bit. "I dunno, ask Griffyn here. He's the chef." He gestured to the unusually silent Grif across from him. While the guy didn't talk a whole lot, he still liked to be friendly with people. Maybe it was the scent, but Griffyn didn't even seem to want to look at the girl.
Alex turned to Griffyn, eager to talk to the ever-silent wall next to her. "Well? What is it?"

| Making an effort to be nice and stop acting what he just realized must seem like an asshole. "it's a creamy sort of pudding, but a little thinner and it's hot, with a crunchy sugar crust on the top. I know it sounds kind of gross but it's amazing." he said and gave her a small smile, relaxing a bit. He seemed to have finally gotten at least a little bit used to the smell of her blood.
Phyre thought to herself. Oh nice, seems like they're to are getting along. And she seemed pretty happy to get a chance to talk to him... hmm... A plan soon developed in her mind.
"Yeah, creme brulee is some pretty good stuff. I think I'm going to go get some." She stood up from the table to go get her dinner. She picked out Some creme brulee and a chocolate cupcake. It didn't seem like much of a dinner but, Phyre had a sweet tooth.
She carried her plate back over to the table, and sat down. "So, Blaize, What sports are you going out for this year?"

| Blaize smiled as Phyre mentioned one of his favorite things: sports. "Well, I figure I'll go out for the usual, ya know? Baseball, basketball, you know. My usual activities."
"You like baseball? I played softball at my old school," Alex said. She loved baseball and softball.
"Really? That's so cool. Not many girls like sports." He gestured at Phyre sitting next to him as she turned away for a moment and winked at Alex. She was fun to talk to, and very nice.
"Oh, I love them." Alex stifled a giggle as Phyre turned back. Funny, she didn't look very happy...
"What other sports do you like?"
"I like softball, swimming, and volleyball. Oh, especially volleyball, it's my favorite, really. Pool volleyball, beach volleyball, even just gym volleyball. It's all the same to me. I love it. But it's a killer on my wrists!" she laughed.
Blaize laughed as well. She was funny! He couldn't wait to learn more about her.
(Can I just say that I LOVE this whole color combination. It's gorgeous.)

| Phyre heard enough. Abruptly she stood up from the table and pushed her chair in. She then discarded what was left of her sweet dinner and walked back to the table.
"Blaize, could you come with me?" she saw him pause and look at his unfinished dinner then impatiently added, "Now." Then she began to walk away from the table without waiting to see if he was following. She knew he would.
She had enough of this new girl. It was time she told her, her place. She planned to do so later but first she needed to find out exactly whose side Blaize was on.
Griffyn suppresed the urge to raise his eyebrows as Phyre up and left. He didn't exactly understand half the reasons girls did what they did. And what did Alex do wrong to get on Phyre's bad side? Women.
"I'm sorry about her." Grif said to Alex, "She usually isn't that bad." He played with the mac and cheese on his plate with his fork. For some reason he wasn't really as hungry as he was before. "So you're the new girl, eh? Do you know what you did to get on Phyre's bad side? It hasn't even been a full day yet," he said and looked at her sideways.

| Blaize looked up, surprised by her rudeness and hurriedly scoffed down the rest of his linguine, crunched his garlic bread and took the pie and ice cream with him. He left his tray there for clean up and said good night to the two still at the table.
"Phyre, will you slow down? What's the matter with you? That was really rude," he added as he finally caught up to her. He broke off pieces of his lemon meringue and licked his fingers clean of the bright yellow jelly.
Alex stared after the pair, stunned. Had she said something wrong? She asked this question to Griffyn.
"I hope I didn't offend anyone..." She bit her lip, confused and upset.
Oh, dear, she thought, my first day isn't going to well, is it?

| "I don't care." Phyre said to Blaize as they left the cafeteria. She stopped outside the doors and glared at Blaize for a couple seconds before letting her gaze soften.
"Who's side are you on? I mean, you keep laughing with her and... stuff. I don't know, but It's annoying." she said and crossed her arms looking away.
She just didn't like Blaize talking to Alex, especially in a happy manner, she didn't know why... It just really bothered her. As if she felt like Blaize was hers. The new girl just came out of nowhere and was screwing things up for her. She wanted Blaize looking at her and talking to her.
She turned to look back at Blaize and said seriously, "Can you just... not talk to her, for me?" she added.
Griffyn pushed the mac and cheese around on his plate again unsure of what to say. It was kind of awkward being around the new girl, by himself, unknowing what to say to make her feel better. "Uh, I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong." he said lamely standing up.
To be honest, he felt pretty bad for her. She was new and was stuck with Phyre. He would feel bad for any girl in her position. Maybe he could do something? Though maybe that wasn't his place... Ugh. He wasn't sure what to do.
"Don't feel too bad. If you have any trouble, you can uh.. come to me and I'll see what I..uh, can do to help." he said hesitantly, hoping he didn't say anything stupid or offending. What was it about this woman that made him so hesitant? He wasn't that type of person. He was the straight-forward type. Dominant. God, why did things always have to be so confusing? He needed to clear his mind. He gave Alex a small smile before leaving the cafeteria.
Alex made him hungry. Not exactly hungry for blood, but hungry for the hunt. He loved running out in the middle of the night and shifting into his wolf form. Tonight he was in the mood to do so.
With his hands in his pockets he walked towards the east exit of the building. Before pushing the door open he looked behind him making sure nobody was watching, and then slipped outside.
Quickly he made a beeline for the woods. As he entered the woods deep enough to strip off his clothing he shifted into a black wolf. Tufts of fur burst from every inch of his body and claws extended from his fingers that also shifted into paws.
He let out a howl before taking off deeper into the forest.

| Blaize looked bewildered. "Because she's so nice! And she's funny. Honestly, Phyre, why don't you like her?" He raised his eyebrows. "Is this some sort of catty girl thing?" he asked.
As she continued to talk, Blaize thought she looked slightly vulnerable and almost...scared. His expression gentled and he smiled at her. "I can't not talk to her, Saphyre. But I promise, you're my main concern. Just be a little nicer, okay? She's not only new, she's a new girl in a school of boys. Not only that, she's a human. Why didn't you tell me she had O-?" he added. He paused and laughed a little. "Sorry. I forgot that you're human."
Alex had O- blood, which was almost irresistible to most vampires. There were some rumors that O- blood would also increase your sex drive, because there was a certain level of adrenaline and nutrients in it, so of course male vampires would want a girl with O-.
"C'mon, Phyre. You want to come to the lounge with me? We can watch When In Rome," he teased. The little fiery-haired human, with all her might and strength, was a sucker for romances and chick flicks. When In Rome was one of her favorites and, to her delight, usually, Blaize enjoyed watching it too.
"Let's go. Please?" he asked, blinking his molten lion eyes at her, his long inky lashes fluttering.
Alex looked up at Griffyn as he stood, frowning. "I hope not..." she said worriedly. She really didn't want to get on this girl's bad side, especially since she was the Dean's daughter.
She smiled at Griffyn's awkwardly phrased offer of assistance. "Thank you, Griffyn. That's very kind of you. I guess I'll see you tomorrow." She blushed slightly at his smile, feeling shivers run down her back. God, this man was simply...delicious.
Speaking of delicious, she thought as Grif left, I've got to finish this delicious food.
Alex finished her food quickly, moaning with delight over the taste of the creamy and crunchy creme brulee. She found that she was still rather thirsty and looked at the glass sitting next to her, at Griffyn's place. Surely it was okay that she took a sip.
She reached over to grab the glass but a second before she touched it, a woman in a black and silver uniform snatched up the mostly empty trays and plates of food on the counter.
"Ye done, missus?" she asked, looking nervous.
"Not just yet, thank you, though," Alex said, rather startled by the woman's appearance. So startled, in fact, that she forgot all about the glass that the woman was taking away.
Alex yawned, her eyes drooping. Man, was she tired. She blinked her eyes to clear them of the sleepy fog and finished up her meal.
She felt slightly guilty just leaving the tray there on the table, but for once she was too tired to do anything about it and for another, there didn't seem to be anything she could do. So she left the dining hall and walked back to the Dean's wing and into her room.
What a day...already she'd made some...well, could she call them friends? She ran through them in her head..
Phyre...she didn't trust that girl. Something was off about her. Alex had never liked girls that seemed to rule the school and this one not only had every guy hooked around her finger, she owned the damn school!
Blaize...what a nice guy. It was clear that he was trying to make her feel welcome, and it was lovely to know that he had an interest in sports, just like her.
And then there was Griffyn. He was so...quiet, refined. Almost like a royal. Even Blaize and Phyre seemed to talk to him with a slightly more respective tone. Perhaps he was popular?
Alex shook her head. She didn't care. She only cared that she liked him. Yes, she hardly knew him. But she liked him.
And let's face it. Phyre did, too.
Alex yawned again. It really was time for bed.
She changed out of the--she now admitted--comfortable uniform, hanging up the long hooded cape on the black steel wall hook and changing into her pajamas, an old pair of green flannel pajamas. She crawled beneath the downy comforter and snuggled into the warm, fluffy mattress.
As she drifted off, she swore she heard the sound of howling in the distance.

| At first Phyre groaned and crossed her arms. She didn't very much enjoy Blaize telling her how the new girl sooo nice and funny. She especially didn't like his whole 'catty girl thing' comment.
Phyre uncrossed her arms as she noticed Blaize's gaze soften. She let out a small hmp, "Well, whatever, It's no big deal. And, so what if she is human, so am I." Phyre threw Blaize an almost tortured look and said, "She's O-?"
Phyre started flipping out in her mind. Every single male at that school was going to be all over Alex, wanting to take a bite out of her for her decadent blood. Phyre took a deep breath to calm herself down. That was so unfair, why did the new freak have O- blood and not her. Phyre was beautiful, it was only fit that she have the better tasting blood but no, of course not. It really pissed her off, she had to let Alex know her place as soon as she could.
Blaize broke her thought by teasing her about When in Rome. She knew he was trying to make her feel better, and might as well go along. Soon Alex wouldn't be a problem anymore anyway, so why worry about it?
"Sure," she replied to Blaize in a passive tone, but her walk towards the lounge showed she was excited to watch When in Rome with him.
