| He sighed as he made his way through the thick forest, weaving between tall trees and prickly bushes.
"....perhaps it would have been best to stick to that trail before..." he muttered, as he sighed and halted his progress for a moment.
He had been hiking along the road for a few days now, and the sun above had proven to be doing it's job above and beyond the call of duty. So much so, that when he came across a forest, he made the decision to enter it, and hopefully get some shade.
He'd found a small pathway, but there was no shade offered, as the foliage was thin and sparse above him. He made the second decision, to veer off the path, and take advantage of the shade.
"Yeah, maybe it was best to stay on the path..." he repeated. He wasn't lost, by any meaning of the word. He had special unique abilities, that allowed him to have an uncanny sense of direction and such... meaning he knew exactly where the path was. His problem was that his clothing was getting a bit torn and ripped from the sharp branches and twigs that were scattered throughout the forest.
This was a bit of a problem, as all he had to wear was a pair of pants, an old pair of shoes, a somewhat tattered shirt, and a cloak and hood to protect him from the elements. One would expect him to be a wandering homeless, rancid old bum, but they would only be 2/5th right. He was wandering, yes. Homeless? No. Rancid? No. A bum? No. Old...? He knew he was, though he didn't look it.
He looked to be in his older 20's, if one were to judge by his face. It looked to be that of a young man's, with well maintained stubble, and slightly longer dark brown hair, which complimented his greyish hazel eyes.
In terms of keeping clean, he'd always managed to find ponds or springs or such to keep his clothing and body clean... so he was quite the puzzling individual. He looked like a worthless beggar, but at the same time... not at all.
"I wonder whereabouts I am, anyway...?" he asked himself. He knew where he was in the woods, in relation to the path, but other than that, he had no idea where the nearest town was, or if he was even trespassing on private property. He sure hoped he wasn't.
He was about to turn and head back to the path, when he heard rustling in the distance.
"Hm?" he muttered as he looked in the direction the noise came from. It didn't seem to be any sort of noise an animal would make... could it be human?
"Wonder if someone else is in these woods..." he said to himself. "Perhaps they can help me!" he rationalized with a smile, as he quickly made his way to where he heard the movement.

| When he managed to break through the trees to where the noise was coming from, he would have seen a vibrant redhead sitting by the stream that was there, with something akin to a pout on her face. Her feet were in the water, and they were bare, as she just watched the water flow.
".... Lost again. Is it not possible for me to get home without getting lost?" She asked the air, completely unaware of someone behind her.

| When he saw her, he was instantly struck by her beauty. He'd only seen one woman as beautiful as this in his past, and that... well, that was a long time ago, and it was a long story.
Her hair was such a gorgeous red, and she looked no older than 14 or 15, but certainly well-developed for her age.
He felt his face flush a little bit, but quickly shook his off, before straightening himself out, and clearing his throat some.
"Excuse me..." he said to her quietly.
"I couldn't help but overhear that you're lost." he continued.
"Is there any way I can possibly be of assistance?" he then asked.

| She jumped and looked behind her.
"Oh, hello." she said, her voice cheery before sighing.
"And yes, I did manage to get myself lost." She added as she got to her feet and walked over to him.
"I doubt you would be able to help. This forest is quite dense, and I have never seen you before, so I know you're not from the village I'm from." She added before shaking her head slightly.
"I'm sure I'll manage to get home myself." She added with a smile.
"But thank you for the kind offer."

| He shook his head.
"Well, maybe we can help each other out." he said to her.
"I remember exactly where there's a path in these woods." he informed her.
"If I tell you where it is, and lead you there, will you tell me whereabouts I am, exactly?" he asked.

| She looked up at him and smiled.
"That would be wonderful. Thank you." She said.
"As for where you are, I'm not sure how far, but we are just near Salem." She told him honestly, a bit of a darker tone to her voice. It wasn't noticeable unless someone were to really pay attention though.

| "Salem, huh?" he asked as he noticed the darker tone in her voice. He decided not to bring it up though, and smiled back to her.
"Well, come on then, I'll take you to the path." he continued, as he started to lead her through the woods.
"Name's Vincent. Vincent Remmington." he introduced himself, bowing slightly to her out of chivalry.

| She followed him, at an almost drastically slower pace due to the fact that she had shorter legs, and just smiled as he introduced himself.
"Racquel Fyrane." She told him with a smile, introducing herself.

| He seemed to freeze up for a split-second, before continuing his stride, though slowing down a tad so she could catch up.
"Well, it's certainly a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Fyrane." he said to her warmly, as they stepped onto the pathway.
"Tell me... perchance is there any place in Salem that a wandering traveller such as myself could rest the night?" he then asked.

| "There is an Inn that I'm sure you could stay at. I would offer you a room myself, but I doubt my husband would be too thrilled with that." Racquel said with a small sigh as she walked with him.
It didn't take long before they broke out of the forest, and into the blinding sunlight.
"Thank you for your help, if you would like, you can follow me and I'll back to Salem." She told him.

| "You're married, huh?" he asked her as they walked.
"Can't say I'm surprised. You seem to be a very nice young lady, and... pardon my being so forward... you are very beautiful." he complimented her, as they made their way out of the forest.
"And an Inn would be more that sufficient for my needs." he told her with a smile.
"And perhaps it would be best if I followed... I'm not exactly sure where this Salem is." he confessed with a small laugh.

| "Yes, I am." She told him honestly as they walked.
"And alright then, I'll lead you back to Salem." She added with a smile as she lead him towards her home.
They were walking for close to an hour before they were able to see the village in the distance. As they neared, aswell, they could hear a commotion.
"What's going on...?" She asked the air, curious as she picked up the pace and ran towards where she heard the commotion.

| Vincent picked up his pace as well, and kept up with Rocky easily.
"Seems I picked a rather eventful time to visit..." he said to himself, having a strange sensation of foreboding come over him.
He wasn't sure what it meant, but he did know one thing... this didn't mean anything good.

| Racquel quickly made her way to where the commotion was coming from, and froze at the site before her.
"... Rowena..." She said quietly before growling.
"LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!" She cried out as she charged forward and stood between her sister, which was easy to identify as her twin, and her sister's husband.
"Rowena has never been anything other than good for you. You have no right to do this!" She half screamed at the man in front of her, as her sister was just silent, having nothing to say, but the aura she emitted wasn't missed.

| The man looked to Racquel harshly, before backhanding her on her cheek... hard.
"And YOU have no right to interfere... witch." he said to her.
"The both of you... have been found guilty of being witches, and are sentenced to death within the week." he told her coldly.
"Now wait just one moment..." Vincent started to say, before the man, known as Alexander, looked to him harshly.
"And who are you!?" he demanded. "Another witch!?"
