My handicapped friends apartment was robbed 3 times while she was in the hospital. Third time was completely my fault.
1. Someone broke in and stole a couple thousand dollars we hand stored away in a metal case in her dresser for her.
2. Someone broke in and stole her television right off the stand in her living room. The cops found it and brought it back. But it was broken and wouldn't turn on, it just made a buzzing sound and the little red light would flash.
3. We were sorting out her belongings in her apartment a day after she had passed away in the hospital. D": I was throwing stuff out, i had to go through the front door to reach the chute. I apparently had forgotten to lock it before we left. So someone walked in and stole the new TV/VCR we had bought for her (we were expecting her to recover and come home), ransacked the place and stole her electric wheelchair right out of her apartment.

| Oh wow. Looks like you've been having bad luck with that place.
I, personally haven't been robbed. Unless you count people stealing pencils and erasers when I was in elementary school. XD

| That's pretty depressing... o_o
I think the fact that she passed away overshadows her being robbed. :C
And no, I have never been robbed.

It was a low income apartment area. lots of building for people on a tight budget. The funny thing is we used to live in the very building they moved her into, just on a higher floor. And I mean how low is it to rob a 50 yr old handicap woman?
I have been robbed 3 times too...
1. I was out trying to sell old toys and stuff, I'd had a really good day for once, yes it was a yard sale. Anyways, it had gotten late and a friend of a ex - friend showed up, said she wanted to buy some Back Street boys CDs, for like 25c each. I was just packing up to go inside because it was getting so dark out. I had left my purse by my feet. I looked away for just a second and she grabbed my purse and ran like hell, it had $100 hard earned dollars in it and the purse itself contained pictures of some of my cats. I never did get it back. I tried to chase her, but I couldn't catch her, I was pushing a personal grocery cart with my stuff in it. I gave and sad outside the variety store near by and cried my eyes out. People asked me whats wrong and offered me a loonie or a toonie, I was so upset I didn't accept it.
2.My ex - friend, shes a few years younger then me. I used to like to play barbies so I played with her. She had stolen a pretty choker I had gotten from a gumball machine. Her big brother had brought her back done and made her fess up and apologize. Another time she stole my favorite barbie shoes. I stopped playing with her, cause I couldn't trust her anymore.
3. I had kept my gameboy games in an old pouch (fanny pack) that I'd normally carry around with me. We had gone to Malic's for dinner and she parked he little cart over by the big table in the back, there was a big family sitting at the table. I hadn't noticed until the next morning that it was missing. I was really upset. It had contained 3 games, Pokemon Yellow and Crystal, my favorite games and Minish Cap. Luckily for me, I had kept my Gameboy Advance SP in my pocket with Ruby in the slot, otherwise they would have stolen that too.

| When I was 9 years old and my brother was 5 my parents ran down the street to the store letting me watch my brother for the first time. They were only gone for a few minutes when our dog started barking and barking and barking. He wouldn't stop. So I went into my parents bedroom to get one of my dad's belts so I could fold it in half and hold the ends pushing inward so the straps would curve outward and I could pull both ends really quick bringing the straps together and make it 'snap' or 'crack' really loud. I hoped the loud noise would catch my dogs attention and quiet him down. If I remember correctly he quieted down for a couple of minutes and then started up again. I remember going into my room to grab something and coming back out to watch tv. My parents were only gone for about 15 or 20 minutes.
When they got back they discovered my mom's watch was missing and a new stereo they had bought earlier that day was missing. And my mom found a hammer under her pillow on the bed. After looking around we discovered that in my bedroom the screen in the window was cut and the frame of it was bent and the window was wide open and looking out the window my dad could see a little step stool on the ground under my window ~ so we knew that they had come in through my window. We called the police and after they did their investigating it turned out that someone had broken into the backyard of our next door neighbors and into their garage. They ate a half a pickle from the fridge out there and drank some wine. Then they took their step stool and a hammer and climbed over the chain link fence in between our houses. Used the step stool to climb up through my window (when tearing the screen wasn't working well they just took the screen out of the window). The cops said they probably heard my parents pull up in the driveway and shoved the hammer under the pillow on the bed, grabbed the watch and the stereo (it was a handheld one like a boombox sort of but at that time they were still kind of big and awkward to carry around and were used more for having outside during pool parties and stuff) and high tailed it out of there. They never caught the person but said it was probably someone we knew who saw them leave and would know that my brother and I were the only ones there. They said I was lucky to not run into the person because I walked around the house into my parents room and my room and back to the living room a couple of times. There was a kid that lived two doors down from us who was in his teens and had started to get into a lot of trouble over the previous year or so and the house he lived in was built at the same time our house was and they were identical in build and design and although the cops couldn't officially accuse him they were familiar with him and indicated that there was a good chance it had been him. He would have known he'd need a step stool to climb up high enough to my window and he was young and rebellious and dumb enough to eat half a pickle and leave the other half there as well as drink some wine but leave the bottle with the rest of the wine sitting out. And when my parents got back he would have known how to get back out of the yard quickly and unseen and back to his house. It was kind of a weird situation and a little scary since I was so young and it was our first time by ourselves.
And when I was around 22 or 23 I ran home on my lunch break from work really quick to grab something and I left my purse sitting in my car on the front seat passenger side while I ran upstairs and right back down to get back to work and during that 3 to 5 minute time frame someone shattered the window on my car and stole my purse which had my driver's license, social security card, credit cards, cash and my checkbook. They used all of my things all over the place and I had problems for a long time because of it. The police almost came and arrested me for forgery at my job when I worked for the county but since the sheriff was on friendly terms with my boss and they didn't want to cause the county courthouse any kind of scandals they said they would let me come to them and because my boss asked them to they would have me fill out all kinds of papers for them so they could investigate further instead of arresting me. I filled out papers for about 3 hours I think for them. I had to print, write in cursive, write in all lower case letters, write in all uppercase letters, write out all kinds of numbers.....a lot of writing. This was to compare my writing to the writing on the checks that had been altered as well as the writing on checks from my account that had been written everywhere. And they wanted to see my writing from the time I started until I had written so much my hand hurt and my writing sucked. And in the end they were finally convinced that it wasn't me. And that was at least 5 years since my purse had been stolen and I was living in a different state. And my accounts and cards and everything had long ago been cancelled. And they still got away with it.

| Wow, that's just dreadful. I have been robbed, but it wasn't something too big. I collected those special loonies and quarters, you know the olympic ones, poppy ones, ect. Well, me and my family went camping for 4 days once, and my mom entrusted her friend to take care of our little bunny while we were gone. Well, my mom's friend's daughter(who was also MY friend at the time), helped feed my bunny as well. So, when I go back from camping, my special loonies and quarters were missing. And I knew it was my ex-friend because of three reasons:
1. My mom's friend wouldn't do something like that
2. My ex-friend was the only one who had known where my collection was, since I only showed it to her
3. I was talking to my ex-friend's brother about money and stuff, and we got into the topic of special coins and stuff and I asked him if he had any. He said he didn't, but his sister did and he doesn't know where she got them from. I know this one isn't the greatest reason, but still.
And ive forgotten/lost my purse several times(my mind is always focusing on too many things xD), but luckily i've been able to get it back every time.
