Well, I'm getting ready to watch the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode in a little over an hour. Was wondering if anyone else was planning on watching it live, or at a later time. And will you guys be up for discussions afterward?

Oh man, didn't realize it was showing so early in the day. I forgot there were showing it around the world at the same time.

I plan on watching it as soon as i can buy it on iTunes. We don't have bbc america. :/ Feel free to discuss though. I'll just skirt around this topic until I watch it! Happy

IT was an amazing episode I loved every minute of it. The fact it went all the way back to the old school version of the theme song was just epic. All The Doctors flying toward Galifrey was epic especially the Capaldi version. (thinks he will make a smashing Doctor)

All around it was a great episode I loved it from begining to end. My favorite part being my favorite Doctor Tom Baker being back on after so long.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that maybe, just maybe, the Doctor, some time in the future, went through all his previous regens. And when he reached his fourth version second run, he actually managed to grow old and did indeed retire as a museum curator for that regen. Then gave his scarf to that nerdy girl (forgot her name).

Nice to see some fellow Whovians here!

I was freaking out during the Gallifray and 13 doctors scene too. So epic. Downloaded the episode so I can watch it whenever I miss the old Doctors.

I'm really curious if John Hurt will appear again. I thought he did a great job.

A) John Hurt did do a great job.

B) So they replayed the special again tonight. And when I finished watching it, I went to take a shower, started singing this one song, and freaked out because...Omg I think I have a nickname to use for the doctor for myself because it fits too well save me.

Swanny.

Because see, there's this song by this Italian artist I love named "Swan". And the lyrics just fit the feels of the 50th Anniversary so well to me D:

lol I went to my dad earlier and pointed out that the Doctor was older than him. Not that he wasn't always younger, since the Doctor is more than a millenia old, but...Capaldi is older than my dad, yet recent ones have been younger. So it made me giddy for some reason, and I had to bug him for some reason.

Yes. I get my love of Doctor Who from my dad.

I can hardly wait for the new season too. Such a long wait though. :/

I can also hardly wait for the new Christmas special airing tonight to come up on iTunes!

Heh heh. We've rigged our computer to fool the BBC iPlayer into thinking we're still in Britain, so I watched the 2013 Chrimble special on iPlayer earlier today. I still want more Capaldi, and I am, in fact, a little relieved Matt Smith has gone. As insane and hilarious as he was, as much as I have actually liked him, as much as I have genuinely watched much of his run, I still prefer Tennant. As Tom Baker is my Dad's Doctor, David Tennant is mine. Still looking forward to Capaldi's run, though, I like Capaldi in general. And having watched Capaldi as the angel Islington in Neverwhere, I'll probably keep calling Capaldi's Doctor 'the angel Doctor'.

The angel has the phone box...

David Tennant is my doctor as well (and my dad's xD), but Matt Smith certainly wasn't bad either. I actually started with Matt Smith, and dad then started showing me David Tennant's episodes and I tended towards them more ^^;

Eccleson was awesome too though. o.o;

I actually rather hated Eccleston, especially in comparison to Tennant. Eh, each to their own, I guess.
