| @Archer: Same here! And to New Zealand too, like wow all that gorgeous scenery! (and lotr filming locations)
My friends and I have this sort of plan where ten years from now, we're going to get together again and backpack through Europe.

| Yup, it's really cool! I really hope we can actually do it. I honestly don't know if everyone will still be friends then. Everyone's kind of going their own way and doing their own thing starting this fall when I start uni, so I think it'll be great to meet up again after a while and see what everyone's been up to!

| No friends, no plans. Just money, a passport and destinations. What happens when and if I get there, happens and will go down as a life fulfilling experience.

| I'd bet that'll be a once in a lifetime experience. I really admire your willingness to put yourself out there and just going with it and see what happens. I don't think I could ever do it. Good luck!

| Hey guys. I've been really bad about posting lately. ^^; Personal issues. Hopefully I'll make up for it, though.

| Just stop trying to control your life and you will be able to live it.
@chu: It's alright. I just started a new job so I've not been on here much either.

| I think it's a bit deeper that that, Archer.
As for traveling, sometimes I want to just abandon everything and travel around the world. Worldly convictions are hard to break from though, but maybe one day it'll be possible.

| It's hard to let go of control. Control is safe. You know what you're doing and usually the end result. It's scary to put yourself out there, not knowing what's going to happen, and just hope for the best.
@Cat: I completely understand. It's a big dream of mine to travel all over the world, but there's so many obligations to family, and school, and life in general that makes it so hard to get out there. Not to mention money. :U

Sounds good to me.
I suppose if you were only gone for a month or so at a time, and kept in regular contact with family, it wouldn't be that inconceivable. I know of a thing called digital nomads that work through the internet, and travel the world.
Or as my dad likes to call them, internet vagabonds /o/ I might try that out one of these days.

| I've seen things about them, too.
See... I couldn't do that. Not until I became a LOT more emotionally/mentally stable. My suicide plan always involves cutting ties from people and moving away so they don't have to know what happened to me... I'm afraid that moving around would only enable those dangerous thoughts.
That aside though, I do love the idea of travel. Maybe I could do it with someone. With the sort of future I have in mind for myself though, it could only ever be a vacation sort of thing. I crave too much stability to do that.

| True. I know couples and friends that do it too. Even if it's just a backpacking trip across Europe with a friend, the experience would be invaluable.
Keeping in contact on a regular basis wouldn't be all too hard, considering if you're working from the internet you'd likely have constant contact anyway - which is great. That's understandable though.
The desire for adventure outweighs my desire for stability, but once you've found stability in your life it'd be easier to keep it whilst traveling. Just need a lot of planning.
