| i mostly scold them and make them sit in time out And for homework time, i've decided that if they would rather talk and goof off that's fine, but they have to tell their parents why their homework isn't done.

I work at a library, and the librarians there say that the job market isn't easy to get in to. There are a lot of applicants, but there aren't many jobs to fill.
One co-worker of mine also talks about the stress that the job puts on you. There are a lot of mentally unstable people that frequent public libraries, as well as many homeless people. It seems like something minor, but you have to keep your guard up a lot, which can be somewhat taxing.
Of course, not everyone feels that way about it. There are plenty of librarians who love their jobs. That's just what I've been told by the people I work with.

| Working in a library can be simultaneously fulfilling and frightening if you're a softie like me. I love helping people (I only assist people in the computer lab) so it's nice for that, but sometimes particularly angry or unstable people come in and really throw me off. From what I can tell, you need a fair deal of personal stability in order to work there for a long time.

| I'd honestly feel strange working in a library. Most of my experience with librarians were strange. They often didn't like some of the other students around me, but have liked me for some odd reason.

| I've had more access to public libraries than school libraries, strangely enough. I never really liked (I originally typed licked xD) school libraries because kids mostly went there to fuck around.
