| It seems to be all I have time to do these days! Aside from Ren Fest, of course. But that's JUST starting up this week.
What about you guys?
Do you work too much, not enough?
Have a job, can't find a job?
Are you happy where you're working?
Do you hate it?
Haha, I dunno, I really just posted this in hopes of getting to know some of the lifestyles of the other members of this site.
(And get out of my cave. YIKES! *tries not to crawl back into art shops forum*)
So yeah. I currently work... at a pizza place, as a delivery driver. I've been there for two years and they've been trying to get me to move up but.. I'd take tips over a 25c raise any day!
I work.. Too much, haha. But I'm getting used to it, and I think it'll be even better once I get back to school. (Local college, this way I get to keep my hours.)
So... GO! I want to know about all of you!
*pokes at your brains*

| Weeelll...you asked for it.
I work. All the time. .__. Not really, but close enough. Ahaha. I work roughly 40 hours per week at a fast food place. I've worked there for almost 4 years (pretty much just because I couldn't find anything else. orz) I've been a shift manager for less-than-a-year, and I honestly wonder if the bit of extra pay I get is woth it...the company I work for is that s*itty. Oh well, it's a job; I have recently been putting in other applications though, mostly in an effort to get a job closer to where I now live. I guess we'll see how that goes.
I've also been going to school off-and-on for the past few years at the local college; will be returning this semester and finishing up soon enough...guess I'll see where that leads then....
Also, first you suck out all my brain chemicals, and now you poke what's left of my mind. Are you trying to turn me into some kind of Zombie?

| See; at least, in the end, you're getting more money than you were before. If I were to move up I would easily make less. I make minimum wage right now. I'd be making 25c more if I moved up. At 37 hours a week that's... what? And extra 7-8 dollars a week? Not like I can get more hours than I have!
On the other hand.. when I deliver I make between $150 and $270 every week, in tips. Meaning, on TOP Of my hourly wage.
I haven't been 'on and off' of school I've just been... Failing. Not because I'm dumb, but my dad died last year (cancer) and it was rough getting back into school (Not to mention actually GOING to school while he was sick!)
So yeah, now I'm stuck with another couple of years to go. But at least I'm making BANK! ($1,200-$1,800/month? Oh HELL yes!)
And yes, I drink your chemicals and poke the dry yet somewhat sticky remains. You got a problem with that? //crazy

| I'm so envious. :P I'm a total work-a-holic - I love keeping busy. But seeing as I graduated high school, haven't gone to college, can't get a job, and have few friends and no boyfriend, you'd think I could focus on fulfilling things like Mido and writing, right?
Nope. I get started on something with lots of energy, but soon find myself making mistakes or doing poorly; then I lose all faith and get depressed over my own uselessness. Having that oh-so-useful responsible, dedicated personality does not go well with depression. At. All.
Do you ever feel like the only things that you do productively are completely escapist? Like playing a video game or reading some spiritual or romantic stuff. It seems like the only thing I can feel good about these days is astrology, and that's probably because it has no affect on real life. XD Dear lord I'm a downer.

| ugh, I WISH I was working...can't get a job in the middle of nowhere (which is where I live). So instead of getting real work done, I sit around the house reading or cleaning or writing or surfing the interwebs. I AM however getting paid ten bucks an hour to sit alone in a tiny room and shred tons of paper with a tempermental shredder that has temper tantrums. Wheee...
Hang on, do you get free pizza?!

ELABORATE!
As for the free pizza... yes and no? While I'm working we make group pizzas and I get to eat that for free. If I want to take stuff home with me or order it while I'm not working I only get 50% off. ^^

| My mom's boss needs someone to shred a crapton of confidential papers, and his kids are too busy I guess. He said he'd pay me ten dollars an hour to shred papers for the next two weeks, and me being broke, jumped on it.
The shredder hates me. The hatred is mutual.

| I'd love to sit and shred paper.
o3o
ESPECIALLY at that rate. But if it's only temporary... I'd say put in one paper at a time. ;D

| I KNOW it's a good rate...but the shredder makes more noise than my headphones...
I like my headphones...

| Haha, I've never had a good relationship with shredders. Is it one of those big ones or an office-sized one?

| Well... pretend it's something else?
Something really cool making noise in the background. OR TELL STORIES! Like... as you're shredding. Make up back stories for each and every piece of paper and then as it goes through the shredder quietly yelp thinks like 'Oh noooo' and 'Save meeee!'
You know, in one of those quiet and kind of squeaky voices.

| Office size. It has TEETH! I mean, you'd think with me being part vampire (it's a weird condition: ask me later) I'd be fine with teeth but HOLY CRAP.
