| Wow, I did not know there was such a... weird and random movie
yet oddly enough the fear of clown is very common, or at least we often hear about it mostly in TV shows. I guess in this last case it makes a funny but not too dangerous flaw for important characters But it,s only my guess...

| I wonder what it is that makes people afraid of clowns? I Agree with Drunken about the fear in characters, but it still is common with a lot of people; myself included. Maybe it's just a self-induced fear? We hear that they're scary/creepy and feed into it.

| My theory is that the basis of a fear of clowns is the same as a fear of dolls. They look like people, but they're WRONG. They have gigantic noses and hands and huge rictus grins. It's like how dolls' slightly distorted features and staring eyes are scary.
I'm scared of tons of stuff, but I only have a few that are so bad as to be called phobias. (I'm not counting needles and bees, since there's a reason behind those. They HURT.) I'm arachnaphobic, so much that I can't be in the same room as a spider. It makes my skin crawl. I especially hate when they drop down from the ceiling. *shudder*
I used to be terrified of the telephone. I'm getting better, since my job requires a lot of telephone use. But I have to kind of psych myself up to calling people. And the thought of cold-calling nearly makes me sick to my stomach.
And I'm agoraphobic, which is a fear of open spaces. It's also used to refer to social anxiety, and I have both, but I used to be so bad that I couldn't leave my bedroom because the vaulted ceiling in my living room made me nervous. At my worst, I barely left my house at all for about six months. But, luckily, I found a wonderful therapist and now it very rarely bothers me. Except that I tend to shut myself in the closet when I'm really, really upset, because I need the feel of walls all around me. But I've been able to keep a job for almost two years with no "crazy" days off, so I'm pretty proud of myself.

| Having a phobia for phones. xD; Call people I don't know and answer the phone is horribly. Since I started going to the hospital every week and have to make a couple of calls all the time, it easied up though.
I'm not afraid of heights, but I'm afraid of getting to close to an edge without a fence, because even three meters from the edge I get all dizzy and think I will fall down. I HATE movies when they stand on the edge of a high building and stuff, it makes me slightly panic in my head. xD;
Also, due to some traumas, I have a phobia of being shut in and when people get into my personal space, borth physically and psychically, and if they don't listen when I tell them to stop it I rightout panic.
Smaller things I'm randomly afraid of are spiders and those huge nighttime butterflies. They get into my room and fly right into my face, goddamnit! o__o; Plus shots and needles. I almost faint when they take blood from me. But that also get's better. Being afrid of everything is what you get for having a paranoid mum. Dx

| I don't think I have a phobia actually...I do have a friend that is TERRIFIED, like hyperventilates, and runs screaming, of clouds. Even minor fog scares her. I'm not quite sure how that came about. At fist I thought, "Oh, thunder storms. Or perhaps the atmosphere fog gives off early mornings and nights."
No, it's the clouds themselves. Does that even have a name?
I'm not afraid of them, but I have an irrational hatred of circus clowns. I love harlequins (Harley Quinn whoop whoop). But not those damned...*rage*
...I digress.

| Ive got one serious doctor-verified phobia besides the minor ocd compulsions and what not. I cant remember the name and i wont even try to, its bad when i get it, and sometimes describing or talking about it just makes me relive experiences and trigger it again , i often shake, cry, scratch uncontrollably, i feel things that aren't real , like pains and skin crawling and burning, when there is no reason i should be feeling that.Once i rubbed my skin until i had bruises and scratch marks all over. Eurgh i need a brain check, somethings wrong with the way i think, that's why i have the phobia, but yeah let me stop before i ironically trigger it myself.

And i scream when i do. I also am very much afraid of dark and cramped places, for i get stuck very easily.

lolz, i know exactly what you mean Actually I was riding in my dad's car the other day, and I felt something brush against my leg. My entire leg jerked...there's still a dent in the dashboard. It might have something to do with a class pet tarantula crawling over my face, years and years ago...

| I have a huge phobia of the dark. I have my entire life. My biological father used to jump out from a dark room and scare me when I was small. Ever since, when I'm alone in the dark, I start screaming, shaking, crying and huddling in the corner. It's really traumatizing and I won't be able to go to sleep for a day or two.
If it's dim, I'm fine. I get a little nervous, but as long as I can see, I'm okay. Just pure blackness in front of me is what gets to me.
I haven't seen my biological father in years, but I still hate him for making me this way. I feel like a child, but it truly terrifies me more than anything.
