In the chaos that followed, nobody noticed the black truck rolling away, a few kids at his side. |
My thoughts were that Dr. Black was planning to make the kids escape for good. I think everyone has understood that by now. So when the chaos happened, she found a way to catch Lynx, Lei, Mel, Eve and Jordan, and maybe some others, and escaped with them. And then they ran around for a while before "officially" joining the Guardians. That or she found a way to contact them after the massive escape or something.
The older girls will probably get some more actions going now, trying to find the other mutants that could have escaped and helping them, or spying on the other groups or something, and Lei... I don't know, I'll find something for her ^^ Though, if you would prefer something else, there's nothing really set for now.

| Bad mutation effects? Are we talking about things like beast type mutants loosing their humanity and going feral, or elemental types exploding/melting whatever (depending on their element), people with phasing abilities having a hard time staying on top of the ground instead of passing through it? Invisible people being unable to being seen?
Or are you talking about other things in general? I mean lifebringers accidentally making things come to life would be rather frightening. What would you do if you accidentally animated a tank, and it started following you around like a dog?
And I'll refrain from posting until you give the okay.

Just... lol XD
I'm working on a new way to use mutation, or well, a new way to choose them and all, with a pointing system. Basically, mutations are classed from -5 to +5, negative ones having "bad" effects on you and positives having good, or at least useful, effects. For example, a mutant that can shapeshift his body into stone(+4) might also become uber-slow(-2 or 3). So you can pick more than one mutation, as long as your point total doesn't exceed a certain number. I'm still playing with it, so it's not really clear.
Thing is, since we are going to probably have more mature mutants and more actions, I thought the old major/minor mutations needed some work. Like that, you will be able to customize your little radioactive toy a bit more Oh, right, mutants are not all radioactive... >_>
So yeah, the good mutations are pretty easy to work on, but I'm having some problem with the bad mutations. I mean, except for diminishing some physical ability, physical and mental troubles, and low control over whatever power you want... <_<

| Oh, so that's what you mean. I'm glad I made you laugh, all the same. So by that reasoning, if I were to do something like that for Jordan it would be along the lines of... uh...
Physical mutations: Enhanced senses = +#, Unable to blend with norms = -2,
Beastial instincts = +/- ? Mild schizophrenia = -1
Shape changing: Inhuman abilities = Over 9000, Unable to speak = -1, Pain while changing = -1
Is that what you're talking about?

| Name: Lei
Group: Guardians
Age: 13
Sex: Female
Orientation: Straight, but not thinking about it much because of her age
Mutation(s):
Healing - Level 2
Lifebringing - Level 5
Transformation - Level 3
Control Issues: Almost no control - Level 4
Mental Disorder: Medium Depression - Level 2
Description: Lei is an average 13 years old girl, with wavy reddish hair and deep green eyes. She normally wears a simple t-shirt, jogging pants and running shoes combo, with a few accessories.
Lei is normally friendly and cheerful. She's not hyper, though she sometimes appear to be. She easily get lost in her thoughts and space out, which can let her seem insensitive or inattentive, which she really isn't. She doesn't have a good memory for people names and will often give them strange nicknames instead.
Biography: Lei was taken in the research center when she was 4 years old. She doesn't know anything about her past, except that she came from Canada, and she doesn't really care about it anyway. She has grown up being a test subject in the lab, which wasn't that bad. She made a couple of good friends there, leading her to consider the people from the research lab like her family in some way.
Lei was amongst the first group of students in the mutant school, and ran into some troubles there. She was taken out of her isolation room by Dr. Black, just before the school crumbled and burned, and she has followed the doctor since that time.
Other: Lei lost her teddy bear, Illya, during the school's destruction. Her personality has changed a bit since that event and she now appears depressed and sad almost all the time.

| Name: Anne-Marie Black
Group: Guardians
Age: 29
Sex: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Doctor and only known leader of the Guardians
Mutation(s): None
Description: Anne-Marie is a pretty cute 29 years old woman. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall for a weight of about 130 pounds. She has long wavy blond hair going down to the middle of her back, though she almost always where them tie in a ponytail to prevent them from getting in her face. She has deep green eyes, and normally wears a pair of squared glasses to correct her poor natural eyesight. Though she is no longer working in the school's research lab, she can still be seen wearing a white labcoat above her usual black jeans and t-shirt.
Biography: Anne-Marie has lived around mutants all her life. She was introduced to the mutants world at a very young age, her parents both being part of the first team that experiment on mutation in the early 21st century. Her father was part of the army and in charge of the security of the secret base where the laboratories were built. Her mother was the assistant of one of the ten researchers chosen to conduct the researches of mutants.
She naturally pursued her studies in science, specializing in psychiatry and genetics, and started working in the mutants lab at 23. When the school for mutants opened its doors, she thought it would be a good opportunity for her and immediately signed up to go work there. What she saw at the school shocked her and leaded her to run away and try to help mutants in the best way she could.
After around six months of running around after the school destruction, she founded the Guardians and is now working on protecting her mutant friends as best as she can.
Other: Dr. Black was officially reported missing and presumed dead after the last event at the school, though her body was never found. She now lives hidden all the time to prevent the authorities from finding her.

| While I plan out the redesign of my character, I have to ask. Where is everyone? Apparently they're in some building, but are they in some abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere, or were they smuggled into some city complex? It will make all the difference to the re-introduction.

| lol when I first read your question, I thought you were asking where were all the players XD You and me seem to be the only one around right now... >_>
But seriously, the Guardians HQ, for now, is an underground complex. I have yet to find a good place to put it, but it's close to some important USA town (probably NY). It has many entrances, some in the sewers and subways, but also some access to the basement of some buildings (bar, small houses, etc.). All the entrances are secured by hi-tech system and only members of the Guardians can enter (though they can bring other people with them, like the first time a new mutant comes to visit).
The complex has enough rooms to house a large amount of people (100 comfortably), with a kitchen area and a living room like space, and of course some offices/ medical labs and other places to stock the needed goods. It is composed of many floors. And that's pretty much it.
Oh, yeah, there's also a small detached building where most of the meetings with new mutants and other people are made. Just to prevent getting unwanted people into the main refuge. It looks like an old duplex that has been officially abandoned for years. And it is not link to the main building, for safety reason.

| Name: Jordan “Danny” McKellen
Group: Guardians
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Orientation: Unsure due to genetic splicing. Behaves asexual.
Occupation: None.
Mutation(s):
Animal Combination – Level 4
Enhanced Abilities – Level 3
Shape Changing – Level 5
Control Issues – Level 2
Cannot blend with Normals – Level 2
Physical Disorder: Discomfort during changing shape – Level 1
Physical Disorder: Oversensitivity to Smells and Sounds – Level 1
Mental Disorder: Mild Schizophrenia – Level 1
Mental Disorder: Mild Claustrophobia – Level 1
Description: Jordan stands, barefoot, at the average height of 5'4". (5'6" when on her toes.) Her build is lean, on the verge of lanky. Her short hair is a golden brown color. Her nails are thicker than most humans, ending in sharp, hooked, points. Jordan’s iris’s are wider than a humans’, and completely remove any trace of white. The pupils, however, remain round. They are a golden brown color, and reflect light as a cat’s does in the dark. She has a set of sharp fangs and teeth that are meant for a mainly protien diet. Her ears are placed slightly higher on her skull, and are feline in appearance. The young woman sports a heavy tail, allowing balance. Jordan only possesses eight toes, four on each foot, and is capable of digitigrade movement. (Though, she usually walks like a human.)
Jordan wears loose clothing, to allow movement. She is particularly fond of wearing tank tops. Her clothing, now, is a variety of dark, earthy colors of greens and browns, sometimes blacks and grays. She is generally seen barefoot, since shoes do not fit her feet properly.
Biography: Jordan had been raised at an army facility from a young age. Not remembering living in a family setting, outside of having a last name, she took the appointments with the doctors and other facility operators in stride. She lived a relatively quiet life, having little contact with the other children in her age category. It wasn’t until she was in her early teens that the mutations began to make a noticeable difference in the young woman, mentally and physically. She was moved to the school for study and health reasons.
Jordan escaped the madness on the school grounds the year before, in the company of Dr. Black and a handful of other mutants. As much as the teenager would have liked to have disappeared into the wilderness, once she was free, she knew that she would be unable to survive on her own. She tagged along with Black and the others and went into hiding. She acted as part of a makeshift security team until the Guardians were nestled in their current hideout. As much as she knows it's for her own good, the hybrid dislikes being inside all the time and is getting stir crazy.
Other: While not technically an allergy, plants in the mint family, including catnip, make Jordan dizzy, almost to the point being stoned. Severity of the reaction depends on how much she is around and how long she is around it. Her human-ish form is actually much heavier than it looks. Scrawny as she is, Jordan weighs close to 200 lbs. Mass cannot simply appear or disappear after transformations, her muscles and bones are condensed when not in her bestial form.
