| "I-I don't remember either," Lani announced quite dumb struck, she looked at her surrounding suddenly unsure of where she was. "Sorry. I'm Lani, by the way. I can be a little odd."

| OOC: thanks egret ^^
Ignoring the loud chatter of drunk and nearly drunk men, Gunnar made his way passed the chairs, tables and people that were getting on his way; pushing aside those that would not let him pass. Humans usually do step aside when they see a creature like him for that they were about all intimidated or suspicious when it came to dealing with his specie. Not that they care: Gunnar saw right away another Chayser at a table close to a grimy window, drinking with men he knew were probably some thieves or thugs, this other one not minding at all the fact he was surrounded by humans.
He reached at last the bar and took a seat before judging his surroundings one again. Gunnar quickly glanced at the young woman he saw entering the tavern earlier, the bright color of her hair briefly drawing his attention. She was half a dozen feet away; he could barely hear what she was saying to the hooded figure next to her.
But he had better things to do than caring for strangers –even if this particular stranger looked somehow shocked– since; after all, he came here to drink away the long walk he took to come in this town. He knew he should have stayed in a bigger city instead of wandering around from one small village to another…
The barman finally came to Gunnar, looking at him as if there was no duller job than working at a tavern: that probably vaguely meant something like: “what would you drink, kind sir?”. The Chayser smirked contemptuously at the thought.
“Something strong… and something good” He ordered and insisted, although his tone was quite blasé and not as loud as the other clients were.
The barman nodded, left and, only a few minute later, brought a glass of –judged by the color- what seemed to be whisky. Gunnar took it and paid without a word, though waiting for the barman to leave him alone before taking a long sip of alcohol. He just loved how those drink leave a burning sensation in the mouth and how the first sip tastes like a chunk of old wood until you take a second one; in which case the taste becomes smoother and way better.
Enjoying his drink, he turned his head and looked around once more, this time more attentively.

| Lani turned to look at the unhuman creature that had entered. Unlike the other humans who were clearly disturbed, and some even pointing rudely, she introduced herself to him.
"Hi there," she grinned. "I'm Lani. Just enjoying the oddness of this place, even if most of the oddness is me."

| As he was calmly drinking as pondering on his whisky and on the last time he entered a tavern or a bar, a movement drew his attention: the young woman with bright curly hair faced him and, before he knew, introduced herself to him, a perfect stranger. No young human would talk to a stranger of his kind, wouldn’t they? It just… made no sense to Gunnar, even more since the young woman seemed to be addressing to someone else before she started talking to him. A little surprised, he quickly peeked at the hooded figure as if that could help him understand. Nope, it did not help!
The reptile looked back at this “Lani” person, a small smirk forming on his lips as he was getting over the surprise:
“The Odd one here uh?” He said, halfway between amused and mocking “And what brings an odd one like you in such a rotten place? Business perhaps: every freak in town seems to come from far away like I do” he chuckled, took another sip of his drink and added: “I’m Gunnar by the way, son of a third generation bounty hunter”.
He smirked again, part proud of this, part ironic.

| Saved by the reptile, the figure mused as the mildly hyperactive girl bounced over to some bizarre creature with scales, whom she had obviously though more interesting than a person in a cloak.
The strange girl's newest victim looked over at her, and his expression made her chuckle under her scarf. Don't look at me. She's your problem now.
Indeed, this new, lizard-like traveler was quite a sight to behold, though such taverns usually housed various collections of strange specimens. It was an ideal place to go if and when one wanted to remain inconspicuous. If a patron didn't shoot fire from their ears, they were ignored by all others, and slipped easily into the background fabric of the tavern. Perfect circumstances for conducting her particular line of business.
Left once again to her own devices, and getting quite tiresome of tapping her foot against the floor, the figure sat back in her chair, retrieving a book from a small messenger's pouch that hung at her waist, and leafing casually through the pages, keeping a watchful eye on the other patrons.

| "Nice to meet you Gunnar the bounty hunter," Lani said bubbly and over flowing with sudden enthusiasm. "Meet my new friend... ahh... sorry what was your name again...???"
Lani asked, turning back around to the mysterious stranger behind her, her attention had moved so fast she could not even recall what her other acquaintance's name was, or if she had even asked.

| No sooner had the figure found her page than the girl's high-pitched voice caught her attention.
"Meet my new friend . . . ah . . . sorry, what was your name again?"
The figure nearly dropped the book, though it took her only moments to recompose herself. Being careful not to turn her head, the cast a fleeting glance at the girl. Sure enough the strange youth was looking her direction with large, curious eyes. The figure suppressed a groan.
Plead ignorance was the first though that came to mind. The figure focused intently on her book, pretending to be completely oblivious to the girl's existence.

| Nice to meet him? And now she wanted him to meet her new friend she could not even recall the name!? Gunnar had a little bit of difficulties believing it; believing someone could just bounce from a discussion with some complete stranger to another with a so called friend as if it was a completely normal thing to do. It was just… so like something a child would do and the Chayser never knew how to deal with kids. How old was this Lani anyway and what was she doing in a tavern?
Quite amused by the situation and curious to know what would happen next in what seemed to be some sort of soon-to-be-madhouse, Gunnar glanced at the so called new friend of Lani watching for any reaction. But he did not need to be able to read mind to guess that hooded figure quickly reading a book was ignoring the bubbly bright-haired girl. That made Gunnar chuckle briefly before he commented:
“’Guess the name is Mysterious Friend… or maybe you’re just mistaking this one with another hooded guy you know” He told Lani mockingly but meaning no harm. “You two want anything from the bar? The magnificence of the place kind of drives me... generous” he added, again not very serious and sporting a defying smirk.

| Lani found herself levitating slightly off the ground.
"Oh dear, not again," she sighed trying to ground herself. "I'm half faerie, and occasionally, I - uh, float..."
She struggled to get a grip on herself and think herself back down. Finally she felt a weight return to her body.
"Phew, oh, I'll have a water, thank you," she replied.

| OOC: allright, Egret's not answering, I'll do it :P
Surprisingly enough, the girl right beside him started to float in the air, so much she nearly had to get a good grip on the bar in order to stay close to the ground. Gunnar could not help but lift an eyebrow with bewilderment; as a few other clients around were also looking at Lani with awe.
“Half-faerie?!” The reptile repeated while the red-haired woman was landing back beside him. “Now that’s something…” He exclaimed to himself.
She politely asked for a glass of water and Gunnar, still a little impressed by her powers, ordered what she asked to the barman. The man quickly gave him the water he asked for and Gunnar handed it to Lani; not even taking care of the fact she would take non-alcoholic beverage in a tavern.
“We don’t see your kind around so much… Where are you from anyway?” He asked as she grabbed the glass. After all, fearies were quite rare around here, more rare than reptiles like him.

| She was mad at humanity, she wanted nothing to do with humans any longer. They were arrogant, ignorant, pests, and they had no clue who they were dealing with. You don't want to piss off a mind reader, especially when they know exactly what you're thinking.
Cynful was in a bad mood after a few humans got on her bad side. She was currenly sulking and walking towards the tavern. Her long and feathery pure as white hair tickled her face in the slight breeze. She had lime green eyes and wore black jeans with a lime green T-shirt and unzipped black hoodie. She really needed to blow some steam off, and at a tavern was the perfect place. And anyway you meet some pretty interesting people at a tavern.
As the tavern came into view, Cyn picked up her pace and swiftly opened the door to let herself in. She did a short overview of the place, she saw a hooded girl, a bubbly girl with curly hair, and a guy with scales...
The one with scales caught her attention. Maybe it was because he looked so different. Or maybe it was because he seemed familiar. Cyn made her way over to the bar then looked intently at the scaled man. Then she began to try and push into his mind for answers, why was he so familiar? She made her mind shut off as she push as hard as she could into his mind, and waited for his thoughts to fill her head.

| As he was wondering where the faerie was from and why she would be in such a rat-hole like this tavern, he noticed another young woman joining them at the bar, although she was staying not too close, that asked the barman for ale. Common sight in a tavern so Gunnar did not look at her for too long, now wondering if Lani would also introduce herself to the newcomer or something like that. After all, that would not be the first time in less than half an hour!
He took another sip of his drink but, as he was starting to set his gaze back on the hooded person and the faerie, a new individual draw his attention mainly because of the contrasting colors she was wearing, but also because of her eyes. They were of a bright lime green that seemed to be slightly glowing under the tavern’s light; eyes that were set on him and watching him intently; eyes that seemed familiar. The newcomer was standing close enough to the little group at the bar to be only there by coincidence and Gunnar, frowning vaguely and very intrigued by this woman, turned to face her.
Something was pulling at his mind, like an itch he could not explain and quickly it became a strange feeling, as if cold wind was blowing softly in his brain. Surprised, he unconsciously scratched the back of his scaly head, still trying to figure what was so strange about the woman staring at him. It was like she was calling for him, or at least like she knew him somehow.
They met, Gunnar was now sure of that… They met somewhere else; he could remember vaguely the smell of beer, old spruce and spice of the bar they were in mixed with the distant smell of the sea that was located only a mile away. He did not feel an instinctive suspicion toward her so they were probably not enemies, but oddly enough he could not remember much: it was like something had erased or blocked this part of his memory, as if someone wanted him to forget about something he saw or experienced.
“Hey…” He greeted her, a little unease by the mystery and the blank in his mind he did not notice before. Gunnar licked his dry lips still tasting alcohol then added, while trying to look more confident: “ ’You want to join us or something?”

| When the scaled man looked into her eyes, she couldn't help but blink as a wave of electricity went through her body, leaving an after tingle in her fingers and toes. At the same moment a couple pictures appeared in her mind. The pictures didn't show as much as she thought they would because she had pushed as deep into his mind as possible. It was like he had a sturdy brick wall up in his mind.
The first picture showed herself from his point of view, and she could tell that he had also shared the same familiarness she had felt. The second thing that filled her mind, was the name Gunnar, and that was it. It was very odd, the fact that she didn't see anything else.
Something else struck Cyn about Gunnar. Besides the fact that he was scaley and familiar, he also seemed to have a hard outer shell. Like he had been through alot, like he had a past. He was the kind of person she would love to just randomly hug. And she couldn't help letting it show in her eyes, how curious she was of him.
It was Gunnar's voice that brought Cyn back to reality. "Oh," she said, caught off guard. She blinked a couple times, and then gave a half smile. "Ok," she started and slid off the bar stool to stand next to him, "Sure, what'll be your posion?" She asked and gestured towards the bar.
