As much as I'm interested in Astrology, Numerology, Palmistry, Tarot and what not (my family has a strong line of both gypsy and military heritage), I also believe that there influence is strongly based on the reader agreeing with it by saying "That is so true!" or something like that. When people read into them they put their own meanings into it and a lot of times these mystical things are open ended.
Hope I haven't offended anyone.

| @MissFortune: Oh no, don't worry about that. ^^
I think that astrology and the like are true to an extent, because I believe that we have a strong connection with the Earth and universe.
However, I also believe that most of the readings and such are largely in part of self-fulfilling prophecies. Horoscopes aren't anywhere near reliable in my mind, but other things still have some grain of truth in them.
And I completely believe in palm reading and aura detection. I'm able to read auras myself, but even I'll admit that they're highly in part of tricks of the light. Palm reading, however, can be explained in a pretty scientific way if you do it right. The wrinkles in your hands change and are formed by how you hold them, which is influenced by your mood(s). Of course, there are always exceptions.
