Lei was listening to the other girls, trying to think about their plan and what they would need to do. It was more like a game for her, probably because of her young age. Though, she knew they were better not to get caught, or else... She shivered a little at the thought. The danger was somewhat frightening, but it was also so exciting! And with the two older girls with her, she was sure they would be ok. "Maybe... maybe we should still take some things with us... Like, just in case..." she said after hearing Melody talk about her powers. Now, that was some awesome powers, not like her own life-bringer ability... She wasn't sure how far Melody could go with her powers though, or for how long she could change herself, so it was only logical to bring some basic stuff. Of course, large items were to forget, because the security would easily notice something was missing, but smaller things, backpacks, ropes, food...

Lei waited for the others to say something, grabbing an apple and bitting into it.

((Grr...I posted here!! But...it's gone now. >/ Where'd my post go?!))

Lynx listened to Melody speak about her abilities, nodding a little, her ears giving a flick. "Speaking of abilities...look here. Before we do anything, I want you both to swear something to me. Swear to me, Lei, Melody, that if any of this should go wrong...if anything goes wrong, let me take the heat." The older girl looked very serious as she spoke this, leaning in close to them, her red-gold eyes clear.

"I mean it...if we get caught...blame me. Tell them that I made you do it. They'll believe you. And I'll get off alright, because I'm crazy. But you have to let me take the heat. I can handle it. And if they should attempt more...like, should they attack....well, let me handle that as well. You two run if anything happens. I don't feel pain and my body heals itself. Your's does not. So if they attack, I'll block and defend you. You two just focus on keeping yourselves safe...do you understand? I want you both to swear to this! I won't have either of you harmed! Let me handle it." Lynx gazed at both of them, a stubborn look in her eyes as she waited for them to swear.

{{There was a rollback and a ton of posts got deleted. D: I'll make Melody suggest that Lynx wakes them up the next morning and stuff. :3}}

Melody nodded at Lei's suggestion to bring other things, "Good idea; we'll still need supplies. We might be out there...well, who knows what might happen. Food, clothes and tools would be best." She couldn't help but feel like someone was watching them all of a sudden, and looked out of the corner of her eyes, wondering if she was just being paranoid. She'd looked just in time to see the girl she'd bumped into earlier that day just after Lynx had been dragged off swiftly shift her gaze away from their general direction. It wasn't too suspicious, after all, most people appeared to know Lynx was what they might view as weird or even dangerous, so maybe it was just strange to see her in the company of others who looked to be there of their own choosing.

She looked back to Lynx suddenly as she spoke, and was taken aback by her suggestion however. She hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Are...are you sure?" Lynx seemed to be positive about it, a deadly serious tone in her voice and a look of stubborn determination in her eyes. The real danger of the whole situation was starting to hit home. But they had to do it. Melody had never really connected with anyone before, but these two girls for some reason seemed to fit with her. She was tired of just sitting on the sidelines, ignoring all the bad things; it was time to take a stand and take action, actually risk something for a greater good. There was a secret in this place, that was for sure, and finding out why innocent kids were disappearing certainly felt like a greater good to fight for.
"All right. I swear Lynx." Silently to herself she wondered if she'd be able to resist the urge to fight back if they hurt Lei. After all, she assumed she could feel pain according to what Lynx had said.
After waiting for Lei to swear to Lynx as well, Melody spoke up again. "So, should we try tomorrow morning? You could get us up for... What doesn't seem...suspicious? Maybe you could pretend you're waking us for something other than what we're doing...like that we planned to go for a walk, or that you couldn't sleep and wondered if we could get up and talk...or that you want to show us something interesting...?"

Lei startled as Lynx talked. Suddenly, the game was over in her mind. She didn't want the others to be hurt, especially because of her. She didn't really know what to say, so she waited for Melody to say something. The little girl was surprised to hear her answering positively to the feline, but after a few seconds of thinking, she decided it would be the easiest thing to do. Not that she really wanted or was even planning on fleeing if something happened, but as long as the others believed she would do it, they wouldn't worry too much about her and everything should be fine. "Ok, I swear," Lei said, with a little voice, before listening to Melody's plan.

((Uhm, little post... No imagination left...))

Lynx eyed the pair a moment later, then nodded a bit and sat back, seeming to relax a bit. "So...will it just be us three? Do you know anyone else who we can trust here?" She didn't want to endanger any more students, but she felt that they might need the assistance of some more special powers. She only wished some of their other friends hadn't disappeared. How long until they quickly followed in their footprints? Shaking the thought away, Lynx frowned a little. Hopefully all would go as planned.

((Blah, crappy post. Sorry it took so long...You two want to skip ahead a few days soon so we can go with our plan?))

((Dunno, maybe just skip the afternoon, then we meet in the evening to finish planning everything (which would be the perfect time for someone else to join), and then magically skip to the next morning where the weather is perfect for our plan. Something like that anyway...))

"Uh, I don't know," Lei answered to Lynx. She would have love to bring the guys and Alice with them, but she had not seen any of them since the morning. A telepath would certainly be useful, and Su'ish with is strength could also help them. And Kos... well, Lei didn't knew him that much, but he looked intelligent and is little familiar could probably be used to watch things without being noticed. If it wanted to, that is, as the scorpion didn't really look like it wanted to be friendly and helpful when she met it.

"We can't talk much about it, I think," Lei added as she thought. "I mean, the more we do, the more there is a chance someone will either go talk to the guards about our plan, or the security system will pick up what we are saying." She looked around, suddenly wondering if people where watching them. She had felt like someone was doing so, but except from the girl sitting under a nearby tree, there was no one around. And since the girl was looking at a book, she wasn't probably caring about them. No, everything was ok. Turning her attention back to the other girls, she suddenly realized class would start back soon. "Maybe we should met this evening? To finalize everything? And if you find someone you think could come with us, maybe just bring him or her with you then?" Lei asked to the others, letting Illya finished the rest of food on her platter.

{{Yeah, I assumed it would be something like that. And don't worry 'bout the smaller posts guys, I know what it's like. D:
You've been using up all your imaginationz on the collaborative RP, Maeve~ x3}}

"I agree with Lei," Melody said. "The more we talk about it the more we're at risk of getting caught. If we find someone who might be willing to help somehow, we can bring them along with us later... we can finalise everything tonight and make sure we have enough supplies. We can meet in my room, then it'll just seem like you're checking on me, making sure I'm settling in and things."
Once the other girls had agreed the bell rang signally the resuming of lesson, and the three headed off in different directions.

The rest of the day was just as boring as the morning had been, but at least now Melody had something to take her mind off it all. She kept drifting off in her head, thinking about the plan and trying to come up with ideas for anything that would help them. Shed decided she could head off to some kitchen area later that evening and get some food, even if she had to sneak in. It would just look like she was hungry and getting some food for her room. She was new and maybe wouldn't know the rules, or maybe her mealtimes would be a little off because of her plane trip.

Finally the end of lessons came around, and this time she wasn't left behind in the crowd; this time she knew exactly where she was headed. She saw a little of Lei and Lynx before the evening when they had their meeting planned, but to avoid suspicions they didn't try to sneak off and discuss anything too soon. It would definitely look much less suspicious later on.

Melody spent a good amount of time in her room anyway, going through some of her things, but not unpacking much. She cleared out one of her bags, a backpack, so she could fill it with supplies. She went through her clothes and packed a few items of more durable and protective clothing in the bag, along with a couple of bottles of water she'd brought with her that morning. After going through her things and managing to find a couple of useful things to use for tools which she placed in her bag also, there was a knock on the door. "Oh, come in."

Character's name: Jordan "Danny" McKellen

Sex: Female

Age: 16

Mutation(s): Major- Zoanthropy Jordan can take the shape of a puma/human hybrid. This usually occurs during periods of great stress, anger, or other strong emotions. She has no control over this power otherwise.
Minor-Minor physical mutations resulting in enhanced senses. Her sense of hearing, as well as smell, are enhanced to be similar to that of a puma. Her low light vision is also akin to that of a feline.

Description: Jordan appears human at first glance. Though, the aura of wild forces, give the impression of something more. The young woman stands, barefoot, at the average height of 5'4". Her build is lean, on the verge of lanky. Her short cropped hair is a golden brown color. Her nails are thicker than most humans, ending in a slight hint of a point. Jordan’s iris’s are wider than a humans’, and completely remove any trace of white. The pupils, however, remain round. They a golden brown color, and reflect light as a cat’s does in the dark. Her ears are placed slightly higher on her skull, and are longer than average, coming to a soft, rounded, point. The young woman sports a heavy tail, allowing balance. And, if one would care to look, they would notice that Jordan only possesses eight toes. (Four on each foot. They look like furless paws. )
Jordan wears loose clothing, to allow movement. She is particulary fond of wearing tank tops. Her clothing, now, is a variety of dark, earthy colors of greens and browns, sometimes blacks and grays. She is normally seen barefoot, since shoes do not fit her feet properly.

Biography: Jordan had been raised at an army facility from a young age. Not remembering living in a family setting, she took the appointments with the doctors and other facility operators in stride. She lived a relatively quiet life, having little contact with the other children in her age category. It wasn’t until she was in her teens that the mutations began to make a noticeable difference in the young woman.
She began to shun the company of others, becoming reclusive and shy with strangers. Jordan began to complain about headaches caused by strong odors, and high pitched sounds. She also developed a great disliking for enclosed spaces. She would pace nervously, when not given any activities to keep herself occupied. This feeling bordered mild claustrophobia, requiring doctors to allow periods of outdoor activity to prevent her from developing destructive habits against herself as well as others.
When the school for mutants was built, the scientists in charge of Jordan s wellbeing, suggested that she be enrolled. It gave her the opportunity to interact with others like herself. (Should she choose to interact at all.) It also allowed her more access to the outside. True, they did keep tabs on her, but gave her the impression that she was being given more freedom than back at the labs.

Other: While not technically an allergy, plants in the mint family, including catnip, make Jordan loopy. In her human-ish form she is actually much heavier than she looks. Because mass cannot simply appear or disappear after transformations, her muscles and bones are condensed when not in her beastlike form.
~~~~
It was almost more than she could stand. Jordan McKellen had been recently transferred to the school for mutants. She still had to have regular check-ups and testing by scientists. So, that wasn't anything new. But the tediousness of the classroom "activities" and the proximity of so many strangers was beginning to take their toll on the puma woman. If it were not for the permission to be outdoors, as long as she followed the rules, she was sure she would revolt. Jordan wasn't sure how, but she would.
She returned to her dorm room, her arms filled with textbooks. She had been given a couple assignments to make up for her poor classroom work. Jordan believed she could hardly be faulted for that. It was hard to concentrate on history lessons when her mind started to scream that she was trapped. She gave an involuntary shudder, and drove the thought from her mind as best she could. In her room, Jordan dumped her books, unceremoniously onto the chest at the foot of her bed. There was no way she would be able do her assignments now. She wanted OUT!
Jordan ran her fingers through her short hair before opening the window that looked out onto the courtyard. No one, that she knew of, would be stopping by to check on her for a while. The puma woman scrambled out the window. The moment she felt the grass under her toes, she relaxed slightly. The open sky above her cleared her mind of any thoughts of being trapped. As a matter of fact, she had the desire to run around and climb things. She allowed that impulse to take effect, and loped around the compound. Her muscles relaxed, and she was up in the boughs of a tree in a short ammount of time. Purring to herself, she sprawled out on a sturdy limb. Her brain thought it would be a good time for a nap.
Listening for the sound of people approaching, Jordan let her mind wander. In a moment, she had dozed off into a light sleep. The sounds on her surrounding filled her dreams.
Lynx was running late. Dr. Jones had managed to get ahold of her again, this time plucking her out of class so she wouldn't have anywhere to run to. After being dragged kicking and screaming, much to the dismay of the teachers, Lynx had been taken to the ever familiar office of the psychologist and had, once again, been forced to take some more trial medications. At least Dr. Reeves hadn't managed to get her into his clutches. She hated going back to the dorm practically dead. It made her feel weak and that thought annoyed her.
The feline spliced girl was padding along towards the dorms, knowing she was going to be late with meeting with Lei and Melody and groaning inwardly because of this. Stupid Dr. Jones...he always ruined everything! Suddenly, the wind shifted and Lynx paused, her long ears giving a flick. What was that scent? It was new...the feline girl paused and sniffed the air, blinking. There! Quickly, she followed the scent, slowing down steadily as she approached the tree where the scent was coming from. Red gold gazed upwards and landed on the form sprawled out comfortably on a limb.
Lynx had never come across another person that was even remotely similiar to her. It wasn't an exact copy, no...but this one had a tail, similiar to her's...more natural, since she didn't sport the 3 jagged claws on the end. But the ears were longer as well and Lynx's senses didn't lie: this girl in the tree above her reeked of feline. She sniffed again, trying to identify the smell, and nodded a little to herself. This girl had the scent of a Puma to her.
The older girl's eyebrows furrowed as she looked up in the tree, the darkness surrounding her, though she could see perfectly in the darkness. Lynx imagined that this other girl could as well. Is she naturally like this? Lynx thought to herself. Or was she created, like me...? Lynx's own scent was a confusing one because she had a mixture of several different cats in her blood. She even had a little puma in there, somewhere. But as Lynx gazed at this other girl, she felt a familiar pain in her chest. This girl must be natural...not a monster like me, Lynx thought bitterly, her ears folding back. Still, cats are curious creatures, and though she had been completely silent before, Lynx purposefully stepped on a nearby stick to get her attention.
Dreams filled with the scents of aged bark and gentle breezes flitted in and out of Jordan’s subconscious. She dreamt of running freely through wooded glens, the wind ruffling her short cropped hair. She chased the shadows that flitted from one foggy tree to another. Then, as the other feline hybrid woman approached, Jordan’s dreams were filled with cats. Though she had never seen a number of the animals she smelled in the other woman, the puma part of her brain knew them. She frowned slightly as the dream changed to fit the mood the animalistic part of her was in. It told her something strange was in her territory and she ought to chase it. She ran after shades in the shapes of cats through the dream inspired forest. She was about to pounce on a squat looking specter when a crack disturbed her revere. The sound was not loud enough to cause the puma woman any alarm, but her better half let her know it would be in her best interest to investigate.
It only took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the gloom about her. Her ears pricked for the sound of anyone approaching. Her sense of smell, however, alerted her to the fact that they were already there. Every feline that had entered her dream had been coming from the lone person standing below her. Jordan’s tail flicked, slightly, as she shifted her position. Resting on her elbows, she crossed her forearms in front of her, letting her hands hang loosely. She was unable to keep her ears from pricking upright at the surprise of seeing another mutant like herself. True, she had smelt traces of the hybrid woman in random intervals, but she was normally inside during those times and had other things on her mind.
The woman below looked to be Jordan’s size, though not of the same makeup as she was. Unlike Jordan, who had been spliced with only one non-human species, the other mutant looked as if she were a combination of several species. Though, the puma woman was at a loss as to what kind of animal the tip of the others’ tail was a result of. Jordan did notice that the others legs and feet were better suited for outdoor forays that hers were.
From there, Jordan was torn between a number of emotions. One part of her brain told her she wanted to have nothing to do with the strange hybrid below her. She shushed that voice finding it to be incredibly rude. Who was she to say what was strange? Another suggested she be polite and at least say 'hi', maybe ask what it, actually Jordan was sure it was female, wanted. A small notion, from the remains of her dreams, or perhaps the feline part of her brain, wanted to pounce the other. The last wanted her to wait and see what happened. These thoughts shot through her brain in only in the matter of seconds it took to look the other woman over. She decided to be polite, but she would run if she felt threatened.
The deep, feminine voice that came from her lips cracked slightly. It sounded like it had not been used in some time. “Uhm. Hi,” she paused for a moment. Jordan knew she could do better than that. You look interesting, what are you? No, that’s not something I should ask. She might find it insulting. What are you in for? That's horrible. Jordan did not have the self confidence to make that sort of joke out loud. What’s your name? That might work. “My name’s Jordan. Some people call me Danny. What’s your name?” That sounded like a good introduction. Right? Well, it was better than nothing.
Lynx could almost see the thoughts buzzing through Jordan's mind as the other feline girl stared down at her. Lynx's nostrils flared, to get a better smell of the other, who seemed perhaps a few years younger than her. But she seemed healthy and full of life, and when Lynx looked at herself all she saw was horror and destruction. When the other spoke, introducing herself, Lynx wondered for a long moment if this girl would be able to understand her. Perhaps she could offer something that no one else could. Ears pricking at the short and simple introduction, Lynx offered a fanged and lopsided and very uncertain smile. "The only name I know of is Lynx. But I think the doctors here named me that..."
Lynx hesitated a little, her clawed tail giving a flick and she pushed back the desire to drop into her usual animal-like crouch. She didn't know this other feline and part of her mind insisted that she forget this encounter and continue onwards to meet with Lei and Melody. They were probably waiting for her, and if she didn't return soon they were bound to get worried. She shoved those thoughts aside for the moment. Here was a mutant with something in common with her! Something that no one else really understood. But Lynx wasn't held back by thoughts of being rude or abrupt: she was usually very upfront and held true to this trait now. "You are puma...were you always, or did they do it to you?" Lynx had to know. What she a true creature or a monster like her?
An interesting emotion had crossed the other cat woman’s eyes, but Jordan could not figure out what it was. It was not something she was familiar with, especially with non-human eyes. She did, however, know the smile. Fangs and all, it was a friendly gesture. She could not help but give a shy one herself. "It’s nice to meet you, Lynx." Jordan had to think for a moment. She had never smelt a lynx before, but she was sure that it was one of the smells she had gotten off the other hybrid. "It’s a fitting name. My keepers weren’t creative enough to give me a different name."
Jordan watched Lynx as she hesitated. She seemed distracted by something. Well, something besides meeting another mutant similar to herself. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. But that was beside the point. She thought the other might have been intimidated by the fact that there was a predator in a higher position than she was. The puma woman sat up and gracefully descended from her lofty perch to stand beside Lynx. She had been correct in her estimations of the others’ height. The two hybrids were the same size.
You are a puma. The statement was not a question. Nor was it an accusation. It seemed to be like she was just confirming the fact out loud. The emphasis on the word they held a large amount of distain. In a sense, Jordan knew where Lynx was coming from. Though the feeling was most defilitely not of the same magnitude. She inhaled deeply, and huffed through her nose. "I wasn’t always like this. There was a time "when I was as normal as the people that did this to us.” Jordan’s tail drooped in a melancholy fashion. The tip hovered over the cool grass. She crossed her arms over her chest. She did not know the precise time the changes started, mentally or physically. But she did know that she used to be "normal".
"You used to be normal..." Lynx's ears drooped a little. "Just like me. I wish I knew my old name...and I wish I remembered my old life. I don't remember anything..." The feline girl watched Jordan as she gracefully dropped from the tree, her long tail giving a flick. She absently rubbed the arm that Dr. Jones had given her the injection in, looking thoughtful. Lynx's skin was darkly tanned, with even darker tiger stripe markings all over her. Her hair was wild and a mixture of colors, and while she thought, she made mental comparisons between herself and the Puma. Jordan seemed so...normal, when compared with her. A normal stance, no real insanity there, though Lynx knew that Jordan probably had instincts screaming at her just like she did.
Lynx studied this girl before her, frowning very deeply as realization struck. "You...you are my replacement!" Lynx blurted out before she could help herself. Shaking her head, she thought further about what she just said and scowled. No, it wasn't possible. Obviously this younger girl was sane, unlike her, but... "Jordan? What is your ability?" She finally asked. She had to make sure. She wasn't staring at her replacement, surely not. If she was...what did that mean for her?!
Jordan saw the change in Lynx’s stance as she admitted her lack of memory. She felt bad for the other, but was unsure how to say so. What could she say? They both were in the same boat. Anything she could say would sound condescending. When the other woman rubbed her arm, Jordan believed it was a gesture of insecurity. That was until she saw the hints of injections. One looked recent. The puma woman cringed, mentally. She distained getting shots. She had not had one since moving to the grounds, but she was sure that would eventually change.
The puma woman noticed a change in the air. Her companion was bothered by something. She smelt of apprehension maybe fear. Jordan was not sure. This discerning emotions by scents was new to her. The puma in the back of her mind knew what it was doing, but gave the girl little to work with. Before she could ask what was wrong, Lynx blurted out something that was very disturbing. “Replacement?” Jordan took a step back, her ears pointing upward in shock. “I…I don’t understand.” The little gears in the hybrids head were working overtime, trying to figure out what she was being accused of.
What is your ability? Jordan’s mind blanked for a second. She ran a hand through her short hair. “Uh,” She was getting nervous. “Well, uhm, my senses are stronger, sharper. Uhm, I mean I can hear things better, and my sense of smell is keener. And I can see in the dark.” Her brain told her she was on the verge of rambling. “And, uh, sometimes I change into something else. I..I can’t control it. It just happens. Like a were-cat, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the moon.”
Her instincts were telling her it was a good time to run. However, she remained rooted to the spot. The older hybrid was upset, but she hadn’t attacked yet. “I don’t want to replace anyone. Honest!” She stammered. “My keepers just told me I was moving here for my own good. I was going crazy, being locked up all the time. They thought being able to go outside would help.”
