| I'm going to have to disagree with the majority of this thread. Like a couple of others have already stated, most sororities and fraternities are NOT the stereotypical ones you see in TV and movies. They're not all about drinking and hazing and partying, I promise.
They're about the gathering of like minded people. I myself was a member of an all women music fraternity when I was in college, and looking back, I don't think I would have gotten through everything I did without my sisters. I spent five years at my school and during those five years I had my Big sister to watch after me, and two Littles to take care of, and an entire sisterhood of women from coast to coast in America who I could call friend and count upon should I have the urge or need to. Being in my fraternity opened up a lot of doors for me and helped me to meet so many people that I never would have otherwise. And we weren't even one of the big greek groups on campus.
To pose a question to those of you who want to abolish sororities and fraternities; how much actual exposure have you had to these societies?
To pose a question to those of you who say you would rather join a club; how is a club so different than a sorority or fraternity?
